It’s a «if you have to ask, you can’t afford it» kind of place. After recently visiting Bay Plumbing, I can see why other reviewers either love the place or hate it. On the positive, lots of very nice fixtures — a number of exotic brands. And if you get help, I bet their staff to a good job. However, I was very turned off. First, there are no price tags. There aren’t even descriptions of the advantages of the various brands. Just displays and walls of faucets, etc. I walked around for about 20 minutes waiting to get some help. There were two sales people on the floor working with other customers. Neither acknowledged my presence or gave any assurance that they would help me next. Amazing what a simple «Sorry to keep you waiting sir, I’ll be with you in five minutes» can do. But no such thing. I finally got a person behind the desk to come out, but she didn’t know any prices, advantages of different brands or even when one of the staff would be available. I had enough. If price is no object and you have an appointment, this might be a decent place. But if you want to inform yourself from the various displays, do a bit of consumer oriented shopping (i.e., getting the most bang for your buck), and get things done quickly, shop elsewhere. Most other plumbing fixture shops in Santa Cruz get better ratings, and deservedly so.

Pat and his team were great when we were planning our remodel! They understood our vision, and were so patient with us! They have so many unique fixtures we will absolutely be back! Awesome local SC business, and customer service!!!

Great place to do business, from the design process, answering boatloads of questions, through product ordering, shipping, and installation. The vast showroom inventory and competitive pricing helped me find exactly what I was looking for, with over the top quality, and our home bathroom remodel is stunning. I was so pleased I went back when faced with remodels for a rental. When our fixtures were received, one part was scratched, and while no fault of Bay Plumbing, the staff helped with an immediate replacement and covered overnight shipping, providing over the top customer service!
I would recommend the Bay Plumbing team for any kitchen, bath, or general plumbing need.

customer service is uninformed, unhelpful, and then the owner/​manger politely asked to «escort me from the store.» horrible service about a warranty. must be under new ownership of the lady who politely escorted me to the doors, because I liked them 20 years ago.

Pretty much worst service ever– plumbing supply? Gave me the wrong part twice & even worse– customer service sucks!!! Bad vibe plus Part 6x price of Home Depot — tried to shop local — these clowns are a joke!!!

I worked with them for many months on a project building our home. Even after working with them for months and spending over $ 20,000 I still never felt I got good service. No one was ever anxious to help me. They were disorganized and often rude. to make matters worse their computer system is from the 1980s and it’s very difficult to track what you’ve purchased and what you’ve picked up. I think Home Depot might have better customer service.

Went in to place an order, was there for 10 minutes and no one even acknowledge that we were there so we walked out.

I’m pretty sure they don’t want my business. Rude, condescending and not interested in helping customers at all. I was completely ignored while in this store. Found out I’m not the only person to experience this after the fact. Did my remodel with someone else.

Want to support a local business? Love being treated like crap? Go to Bay Plumbing’s parts department! Seriously, the older guy in the service department couldn’t make you feel less valuable as a customer if he waved a gun in your face. I’ve been in there twice trying to find specialty parts and both times had to deal with the same guy and both times I left there thinking what a curmudgeon he is.
I’d rather get bad advice from friendly people at Home Depot.
There are other plumbing places in town (Ferguson being one I visited where the staff was really nice) so you think these guys would make the slightest attempt to be courteous… but it doesn’t appear that way.
Spend your money elsewhere with someone who is friendly and wants to help you.

I ordered a sink faucet 3 weeks before guests were to arrive. I had to call to see if it had come in. When I went to pick it up it was in a different finish than the one I ordered. They put a rush on the new order but again, no call & when I called it had not arrived. My guests went without cold water in the sink for a week. It finally came in & I did get a call the 3^rd time. I don’t want to mention names but my experience was one of terrible communication and a lack of courtesy. My plumber also said he finds their prices too high generally. I will never use Bay Plumbing again.

This post is specifically about Daniel in parts — use anybody else. I got heavy sighs from the minute I came in to get a hard-​to-​find part. He said he would call the manufacturer and get back to me — never did — and after multiple attempts to get a hold of him, his only response was «you’re not the only customer I have» — so I went elsewhere. Worst customer experience I have had in a long time.

Great service, selection and prices too. Not sure what the bad reviews are about. I’ve been in here 3 times and worked with 3 different people and had a great experience each time.

I walked in to Bay Plumbing after visiting SC Kitchens and Bath and what a difference in customer service. Ron immediately helped me and was so friendly and had a great attitude, even after me telling him right off the bat, that I am difficult. He spent a good hour with me trying to help me find something that could work within the constraints of my small bathroom. I’m still deciding whether to keep my original tub and toilet or upgrade to new, but one thing for sure is if I do buy new, I will be buying from Bay Plumbing.

I have recently shopped at Bay Plumbing for a bathroom remodel we are currently working on at my house. I would like to call out Heath, as he was one of the best sales people I have come in contact with in many years. First, he listened to us, and immediately understood we needed to do a lot more looking online and in other stores before we could even think of making a purchase. He was so helpful, and kind. He helped us understand where to go to see bathtubs in a large showroom over the hill as well as other plumbing stores local and over the hill. He never was rushed and made us feel so very comfortable. He spent a lot of time when he knew we were not ready to purchase.
My wife and I have gutted our bathroom, and we have spent the last month or two shopping like fools to try to decide on all the various fixtures, tile, paint, sinks, toilets, windows, mirrors, and on and on… We keep coming back to Bay Plumbing because Heath has made us feel comfortable and has treated us the same way every time we come into the store. And it’s worked well for us both, as we have now made several orders there, and would happily pay extra if we had to in order to shop in our own neighborhood, but mostly to keep working with Heath! And the prices are competitive. We have found Bay Plumbing has saved us money on some components.

Excellent quality products, great customer service. I bought my kitchen sink, faucet, and accessories here 13 years ago when I remodeled. They still look new, though the faucet recently started leaking and needed to be replaced. I went back to Bay Plumbing, appreciated the same great customer service, and got a new faucet that is of excellent quality for the price. It’s a BIG PLUS that they are enthusiastic members of Think Local First. Thank you, Bay Plumbing!

Avoid this business! I got a little attitude from Amanda when I was browsing and trying to place an order, but went with it because I was already there and needed supplies for two bathrooms. Was able to walk out with half my order, was given an ETA for the other half but never got a call. A month later, I called and was able to pick up all but one piece, and for my trouble received quite a bit of attitude from Amanda. FOUR MONTHS LATER they still hadn’t called to give me the status of my order. I had to call several times, finally got a replacement piece and — you guessed it – more attitude from Amanda. I guess wanting my complete order within six months was a real hassle for her. Skip it. Go to Plumbed Elegance. They’re about a mile away, but are worlds apart in customer service. This place is ridiculous.

Not a happy customer. I bought a $ 475 Grohe faucet at Bay Plumbing. Once installed I didn’t like the faucet and the way it functioned. I took it back to the store 5 days after I purchased it. Bottom line, Bay Plumbing would not take it back. They said it was «too bad» that I didn’t like it, and that they don’t take anything back just because a customer doesn’t like it. Really? Not only do they not care about customer satisfaction, the manager, Ron Routhier was extremely rude and condescending. Now I have a $ 475 faucet sitting in my garage collecting dust. Bottom line, avoid Bay Plumbing Supply because if you don’t like what you buy there, Too Bad for you!

Bought a $ 2500. claw foot slipper tub 7 years ago for our weekend beach cottage. Was happy until the ceramic started flaking off. Asked them to recommend a repairman, who found that there was an air bubble and bondo substance underneath, so clearly there was a flaw at manufacture, that they tried to hide. they wont return my calls, so they are friendly when taking your money, but ignore you if there is an issue
