Thank you for helping me with that hitch in my giddy up. Recent one on one yoga here gave me tools for better physical therapy, nice homework with props perfect for me.

Instructor-​owner Susan Merritt seems to have a broad knowledge base and kind spirit.

Terrible. When a person is in constant pain and seeks to participate in a group. I think it’s pretty terrible to make no effort to accommodate those with disabilities. I’ve seen restaurants offer to carry people in wheelchairs, strangers off the street have volunteered to help, I’ve carried my friend up my stairs, but I’ve never seen such heartless disregard of a person with a disability. Shame on you. Your lack of compassion is ridiculous. If the building is not accessible, we humans can make an effort to accommodate. Obviously you’re not interested in accomodating. The heartless response given by a Kara haney was «metta». Really?

Susan Merritt is an outstanding yoga teacher! I’ve attended her classes for many years and for the first time I decided to treat my 90 year old Dad to his very own private yoga lesson as a birthday gift. He had never tried yoga in his life and was thrilled at the outcome. Susan quickly assessed his body’s aches and pains and helped him find relief, particularly in his neck, of which he had been complaining about for months. After a combination of physical therapy, ball therapy, and restorative yoga poses, my Dad was as good as new. Susan is super gentle with older folks, never pushing them beyond their limits. I highly recommend Susan to anyone who is new to yoga as well as seasoned yogis, she can teach any level. She is a skilled teacher and wonderful human being. Susan is the real deal!

After two years of pain which (eventually pushed me to Cervical spine fusion) I was extremely cautious about beginning any activity. Through my PT office, I was referred to Body and Soul’s Susan Merritt.
She offers a restorative yoga class twice a week. When I came to my first session, Susan interviewed me, asking me what I need/​want. Wow! That’s a first; a group instructor checking in with each individual in such a personal way.
Over the last few months I have thoroughly enjoyed this class. Susan is extremely experienced and knowledgeable. She knows just how to gently encourage you, and more importantly, guide you to an appropriate level of challenge for your current status. She is engaged with the students during the entire session.
After just a couple sessions I felt more confident and the benefits of the yoga excersies.
The casual and fun atmosphere makes things light and easy. Susan has great insights and a great sense of humor.
(My background: intense athletics, with very little yoga experience).

Susan Merritt, who owns the studio, has put together an assortment of classes, some traditional yoga and others appealing to those who like eastern disciplines. My experience is with Susan who is highly skilled both in yoga and functional body bio dynamics. Her easy and detailed instruction is exceptional. Whether you are a seasoned yogi, a new-​be or wanting to refresh your practice with accurate form, Susan provides precise techniques to address each of her students’ needs. Her approach is «What would you like to work on today?» And, when the class is over, you feel the results. Thank you Susan for bringing me and my husband back to yoga with ease.
