Doctors On Duty

Nursing staff helpful and friendly. The physician on duty however, curt, condescending and indifferent. Despite the right side of my face, being swollen twice the size of my left, prescribed nothing more than extra strength Tylenol for the pain. In agony, in the midnight, I reflect back on the disapproving way he shook his head back and forth stating, «Sounds like you need a dentist».

If was so refreshing to walk in and have such great and sincere service. I felt that my best interests were taken into consideration and all in a timely matter. Dr. Frank was great!

A total mixed bag. Today, I called in ahead of time like Mary told me to because the chairs are painful on my back and neck suffering sprains and I was supposed to be given priority even though a walk in. I got here and I was already checked off even though I told them I was driving over. An hour later all other walk ins (even people who came after me) were seen and the room empty. Secretaries had attitudes, wouldn’t look at me, and had zero sympathy for messing up the order. So now the doctor is giving me extra painkillers because that waiting room wait set my back muscles spasming. On Saturday my work called ahead because I was being evaluated for an injury at work. It was fast service with a nice doctor and sympathetic staff. Basically, don’t come here unless your worker’s comp or another doctor call ahead for you because the service is terrible otherwise.

I received fine care at this location and am usually in and out within an hour.
Jami was truly wonderful. She is always working very hard keeping things flowing here. She really deserves a raise!

I had a great experience today at Drs on Duty!
Dr Heather and the staff really go above and beyond to make patients feel comfortable during their visit.
HUGE shout out to new staff member Lindsey, who was absolutely wonderful AND gave me a painless TDAP injection (a rare feat).
Lindsey truly is a welcome addition to their staff.

My son was injured while doing lab work in Chemistry class. He went in for help and they checked on him right away. Dr Yien was very thorough and she stitched his wound very well so it will heal with minimal scar. Everyone were very caring and patient.

I went in for a blood draw today. I got in super quick and I had Maureen draw my blood. She was AMAZING! Not only was she super sweet and made me comfortable, but she hit my (almost impossible) vein right away without hardly any pain! Usually, it’s super hard I find my veins and even when they hit one, the draw takes forever and it’s painful for me. Maureen really knows what she’s doing and she did it in less than 10 minutes! I am always terrified of getting my blood drawn but if I had to go to her every time, I wouldn’t even CARE about getting my blood drawn anymore! I wish every doctors office that I’ve ever been to had a lady like Maureen. Then I probably would never freak out if I had to have my blood taken. She’s really the best.

Dr. Joy and dr. Chen are amazing. Warm and available … The whole clinic experience is far better than any clinic I have ever attended in my 56 years. They should be a model for how to operate clinics that must cater to med-​iCal patients. So very grateful to have found them.

I called to see what the wait was, the receptionist Mary put me on the list for an hour from then. I came in and saw Dr. Yien right away. All staff was friendly and helpful. Clean place, look into your eyes when they speak to you, just nice people.

I went to Doctors On Duty for a brief visit today, and I am so happy with the care that I received. I needed to have my ears flushed out, and the staff was terrific. I didn’t have to wait long, the doctor and the clinic staff were very helpful and knew exactly what to do, and soon I was out of there. A big thanks to Mary, Gloria, and Dr. Joy!

I went ln for stitches with the nice’s staff in town. They got me in and out quick and I was happy with there service… Shout out to Gloria and Mary…

I called and asked what the wait was, and they said 0. I had to drive 35 minutes to get there, but when I got there, they whisked me right in. Mary at the front desk asked me to fill out the paperwork, and highlighted the mandatory parts, so that she could get me in quicker. I had the most horrible earache.
Diana took me in back and asked me a few questions, took my weight and was very kind.
Less than 5 minutes later Dr. Nye came in and looked at my ear which was infected. I had brought ear drops with me from a prior infection and she told me how/​when to use them. Also gave me antibiotics for the infection. I was in serious pain, and she said to take Tylenol or Ibuprofen for the pain, which I was pretty skeptical about. I really thought I would need something stronger. She told me I could take the Tylenol and Ibuprofen at the same time, and even hooked me up with tablets before I left. I was really surprised at how quickly the pain ceased!
They promptly called in my prescriptions that were waiting for me when I went to the pharmacy.
All in all, I hope I don’t have to go back there, but if I need urgent care, I wouldn’t hesitate to go.

Efficient and courteous staff at the front desk and both the medical assistant and Dr Karen Yien were extremely helpful and got me in and out of the clinic quickly! The wait time was very reasonable… all around great experience

I went in again after 7 days of taking the previously prescribed meds from Dr. Aragon and was happily helped over the phone by one of the M.A.s, Diana. She made sure everything about my visit worked out in my benefit. Mary helped me at the desk with the long wait time; I had a car full of friends with me unfortunately so she suggested I give her my phone number to call me when its my turn so my friends and I don’t have to wait. Bob helped me out both times I went into D.O.D. The first time, he took vital signs and asked what my symptoms were. The second time, he took a perfect x-​ray of my sinuses for Dr. Joy to read and decipher my problems. Dr. Joy then made sure to write a script for the appropriate drugs to solve my sinus issues and I am already starting to feel better.

I might have waited, but Dr. Karin Yien was beyond thorough and took her time to try and help me figure out what’s REALLY going on with me… when other doctors just pushed me out the door with medications and no real answer. Thank you doctors on duty!!! I will be coming back to see you for future medical issues

Friendly fast an all around great. I originally went to the aptos one but had to go to this location for a md. Was nervous at 1^st because a few years ago it was dirty. They have definitely cleaned this place up! I was very pleased.

I have had to use medical centers around the world as I travel allot for business. This is a world class team. Just moved to Santa Cruz and was sick as a dog. The folks here were very professional, efficient, nice and most of all provided great medical care. Dr Karen Yein really took time to understand my symptoms and provided excellent care.

Two weeks ago I almost cut my thumb off with a tuna can.
The Medical Assistants were very friendly and in hardly no time I was getting stitched up by the Artistic Physician Assistant Gilbert. The stiches were so beautiful that I almost did not want them removed (almost) .
The front desk staff (Especially Mary) are very friendly and accommodating. The facility was very clean and I did not have to wait very long to be seen.
If you live in Santa Cruz, have health insurance, and are prone to accidents, this is the place to go.

I usually go to the DOD in Aptos, but this one is down the street from my job so figured why not. The facility was super clean and I had a projected wait time of 30 minutes and I was seen a lot quicker than that. The staff was super nice also.
I was treated by Dr. Yein today and she was amazing. She was very helpful, gave me all of her time to answer questions and let me know how and when to properly take the medication she prescribed me. I love all DOD and I will defiantly keep this one in mind.
