Eric Soltanoff, DC

I hate to give a 1 star but my review is directed to his staff CARRIE not Doctor Stoltanoff himself. Wow, this receptionist had the biggest attitude and raised her voice at a new client. Unfortunately even though I like the doctor I would not give my business to his practice. It’s unfortunate as I’m sure he is a good doctor. Part of a success in any business is for the entire team to be friendly and courteous to all clients especially a new client.

After reading the good reviews, I called today and found out that he has retired. Bummer, as he sounded promising!

Could not have had a better experiece. Dr. Soltanoff is remarkably kind and does an amazing job explaining why and what he is doing. I would recommend him to anyone.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Soltanoff for almost a year, and he has helped me with quite a few issues in that time. He has a great bedside manner, always considerate of how you are feeling and what your concerns are. I have always felt like my needs and issues were addressed with each visit, and that I’ve made steady improvement throughout the time I’ve been a client. However, after today, my opinion and respect have been elevated to a new level.
I called Dr Soltanoff’s office to see if my husband, whom has never been a patient of Dr. S’s, could get in for an ‘emergency’ appointment concerning his low back. Unfortunately they were closed for the long weekend (which was also why my husband was home). But the next day the office called right away in the morning to see how he was and to get him into the office. My husband had to go into work, however, and does not work in town… so he was trying to find a chiropractor close to his work while amongst an incredibly busy and painful day. Later that afternoon, Dr Soltanoff himself called to check on how he could help and how my husband was feeling. I shared with Dr S that my husband was still in a lot of pain and that he was not able to track down a DC close to his work, and that he would be home later than Dr S’s office was open. That’s when Dr S said that he would be more than happy to see my husband whenever he got home from work, as late as that may be. And late it was… but Dr S was there, at the office, waiting patiently, and so unbelievably patient, understanding, and helpful!!! (And I must share, that although I am a very avid believer in Chiropractic, my husband is not… so getting him there was a ton of pain, and trust in my faith in Dr S). Best thing yet, my husband was completely hunched over, barely walking for 3 days, and after our visit to Dr S, he could stand upright again the next morning. What a WONDERFUL experience from a very caring Dr.

Dr. Sotanoff provides thorough, friendly and effective chiropractic care. His practice is diverse in the techniques he uses and I have received a great amount of pain relief from seeing him 4 times now. He spends enough time to really understand the full scope of the issues I am having in my body, and provides not only great treatments but exercises as well for me to do at home. I felt very relaxed and supported in the adjustments he gave me. He has helped me with some postural issues in my neck, and worked on a chronic recurring hamstring pull.

Dr. Soltanoff is a miracle worker! He sent my neck/​shoulder pain into non existence.
He instructed me on how to manage my pain with exercises. My only regret is that I didn’t go to him sooner.

Went in to see Dr. Soltanoff about my back issues. He was very knowledgeable about my condition and definitely helped me get back to where I needed to be.

Dr. Soltanoff is an excellent chiropractor and a real nice guy to top off. I went in to Dr. S in order to figure out what the heck was going on with my ribs, which had been giving me some real difficulty for the past two years on and off. I even went to a MD and got X rays but they couldn’t determine what the source of my pain was. Within one consultation, with no X rays, Dr. S made a determination, and a plan of attack. This plan took less than a month to complete (and would have been much shorter but I skipped out for almost two weeks).
He encouraged me to do a lot of stuff on my own: from stretching, nutrition, to the way I even surf. I thought this was pretty awesome and it helped me to make some shifts in my lifestyle to better practice injury prevention.
I feel great, I’m very satisfied, and I really enjoyed the overall experience with Dr. S. He’s legit, and can steer you in the right way to better health and fuller enjoyment of your active lifestyle if you decide to go his way!

Dr. Soltanoff is unlike any chiropractor I’ve ever been to. As an athlete that has been suffering with shoulder problems for the past five years, I’ve seen my fair share of therapists and had some success. However, every therapist I’ve ever been to has never been goal-​oriented about my healing process and implied I would need regular chiropractic visits for as long as I was active. Dr. Soltanoff, however, has been helping me by teaching me exercises I can do at home so that I can both heal faster and not have to return after my injuries have been sorted out. It is abundantly clear that he not only deeply cares for his patients, but is very talented at what he does. His work is thorough and he always takes his time with visits. On top of all of that, he is extremely flexible in scheduling and highly understanding of financial need. If you’re looking for a long term solution to your problem, go and see him. Thank you Dr. Soltanoff!

I saw Eric years ago, felt very «Protocol-​ish”– like he did the same thing on every patient, no consideration of my actual case and needs. Then the olé, «sell you a package of treatments» thing, which I foolishly fell for. It didn’t help me personally, but prob not the worst in town.

I have been a patient of Dr. Stoltanoff’s for the past 6 months. He is very different from other chiropractor’s that simply adjust you and send you on your merry way after a quick visit. My initial meeting was all about my health and body awareness. Dr. Stoltanoff took notes via his recorder and had a follow up visit with me to discuss his diagnosis and treatment plan. He also taught me some physical therapy exercises and breathing techniques. My chronic neck and shoulder pain is now maintained through regular treatments. I no longer dependent on pain relievers and ice and hot packs. There were times when my neck would send me to bed in pain. I’m glad to say those days are over. I have also saved money on his excellent package plans, not to mention I don’t need regular massage anymore.
I highly recommend Eric Stoltanoff.

I am so glad I was referred to Dr. Soltanoff by a friend. I had almost signed up for an entire year of «adjustments» by another local Chiropractor that seemed a bit shady, so I decided to get a second opinion for a chronic pain I had been dealing with since the birth of my first child. Dr. Soltanoff is incredibly intuitive and was able to target the source of my pain after the first visit, I was sent home the first day with incredible relief as well as an increased awareness of how to contribute to healing my body through exercises and good posture. I loved my visits, the whole staff is very nurturing and relational as well as professional and excellent in their practice. I wouldn’t waste your time or money with any other chiropractic practice in town, this is the best around!

Dr. S is a master at his craft. With loving attention to detail he works through the symptoms, getting to the core of the issue. He was able to ease my tension headaches which I had had for years. The staff is absolutely amazing. They make you feel cared for and welcomed every time you come in the door. Its the best place in town for chiropractic care.

Would pay just to talk to this guy. Dr. Eric has a way about his words and voice that helps soothe and cure as soon as he walks into the room. I have enjoyed thorough injury-​relief AND injury-​prevention (preventative alignments) because of Dr. Eric’s practice and love every visit I have. You will walk out feeling aligned, soothed, and enlightened. His general suggestions include «drink lots of water, eat organic foods, get rest» which should be obvious, but don’t get told to us enough I feel. When they are, especially from a professional, I go and do them! Confusion about my student health insurance for a while, but five star treatment definitely gets a five star review.

I’ve seen a number of chiropractors over the years with very mixed reviews. I wasn’t looking for a doctor who would promise to make every imaginable problem disapear IF i had a weekly adjustment for ever. I wanted to be treated with chiropractic and ART. I found a great match in Dr. S.
Dr. Soltanoff gives his patients his undivided attention, and the visits are quite extensive. He encourages patient work at home to continue the healing process. Right from the start, I was confident that I was working with a doctor that was really aiming to correct my problem, and never was there a feeling of the never-​ending treatment plan here!
Dr. Soltanoff and all of his staff are professional and kind. They have gone to great lengths to create a warm, calm environment, and it all goes far in making a new patient feel welcome and cared for. Things never feel rushed here. From my first visit, every part of the visit and the plan of treatment was well explained and clear.

I’ve been to several chiropractors in Santa Cruz, as well as in Berkeley and San Francisco where I lived before. I have a chronic problem caused by a shoulder injury, and my body tends to organize itself around protecting that shoulder, causing a host of soft tissue and structural problems that mess up my posture and cause back and neck pain. Eric Soltanoff is the first person who has successfully zeroed in on all the muscle problems that have been keeping me out of alignment, and his combination of muscle work and chiropractic adjustments has reset everything to where I am finally symmetrical again. And he did it in only a few visits! Every single day I marvel at how strange it feels to have my right shoulder be symmetrical with my left shoulder. No one else has been able to manage it. Dr. Eric, you’re a lifesaver!

I went to see Dr. Eric after someone told me how «Active Release Technicques» got them back into playing tennis and golf again after a shoulder injury. I had separated both shoulders in bike accidents and had a torn ligament in one. That one was frozen and the other just hurt all the time. I’d been the medical route, with physical therapy, Prolo shots, MRI’s, the works, but nothing offered relief.
I got a full treatment on my shoulders during the first treatment, and really noticed a difference shortly after that. After about two months, the left shoulder was unlocked and I was dancing again without any pain. By summer, I was swimming, something I hadn’t been able to to for 10 years.
When my knee started locking up, I had an MRI, discovered I had a torn meniscus and was scheduled for knee surgery. A friend recommended that I get physical therapy first, which I did. As a result I strengthened the muscles around the knee, but still was having some pain. I asked Dr. Eric if he could help with that, and he said, «absolutely.» He went to work on the whole leg, from the hip joint down, and the pain went away after a couple of days, and it doesn’t lock up as often. When it does now, I know how to unlock it in an instant. I go in for a tune up now and then, and Dr. Eric keeps me dancing, hiking, swimming. Before I found him, I thought I was just going to have to settle for living in pain. I no longer accept that at all.
