Established in 1994.

Jedzebel started in India in 1994 when owners Janet and Ed Croteau met serendipitously in Calcutta while backpacking through Asia. Within 5 minutes of meeting Janet wrote down her address (no email back then) for Ed and said, «who knows, maybe we’ll be business partners someday.» They became partners a few months later back in California and have been bringing back clothing, hats, and accessories from India, Nepal, Thailand, China, and Indonesia ever since. Also a wholesale company nationwide, Jedzebel store in Santa Cruz is a factory outlet with great deals on a variety of merchandise.

Business Owner

Janet and Ed Croteau live in Felton, CA. They’ve been business and life partners since meeting in India in 1994 and were married in 2002. Both had careers in other fields — Janet was a newspaper reporter and Ed was an engineer before meeting and deciding to give importing a try. Twenty years later Jedzebel | EcoGirl | hat.a.girl is sold at more than 1,500 boutiques, music festivals and street fairs across America. The headquarters and Jedzebel Store is located in downtown Santa Cruz.
