It’s always hit or miss when looking for a new massage therapist. Lisa was a strong hit. Personable and talented. I was able to relax and enjoy the experience, and at the same time, when asked, she was informative, and let me know exactly what was going on with my body, and gave me some suggestions for my day to day to make my life easier.
Without question I’ll be back (I know there is a joke there somewhere), and can’t recommend enough giving Lisa a try if you are looking for some relief, or just enjoy being pampered.

I cannot recommend Lisa enough! I’ve been to see her a few times now, and every session has been fantastic. She’s friendly and welcoming, and takes the time to really understand what areas of your body need work. I’ve had issues with my shoulders/​neck for years, and Lisa managed to identify the problematic areas right away and eased so much of the tension even in the first session! And then at the end, she gave me a series of specific stretches to do that help keep those areas loose :)
Her massage studio is lovely and calming, and the ability to reserve sessions on her website makes it even easier to get on the schedule. If you’re looking for a great massage experience in Santa Cruz, Lisa is the lady to go to!

I’ve been seeing Lisa for the past 3 years and all I can say is that she has healing hands. It’s an added plus that she is such a kind and warm hearted lady, always has a smile on her face.
I have serious neck and shoulder issues, Lisa pin pointed the issue right away and went to work on it. FABULOUS!!!
Your initial first visit, she will go over a brief medical history and document all your ailments. After that, when you come back multiple times, she already has your file and no need to rehash your ailments.

Lisa changed my life yesterday! (for now) I was visiting Santa Cruz, and took the mini vaca as an opportunity to try to find someone to get this horrible thing that I have going on from my neck down to my back, worked on.
I found lisa in a search, and looked at reviews, and booked an appointment for the next morning. Her room was very comfortable, she was very friendly approachable. She worked wonders on the problems I had going on in my body. I was surprised by her hand strength and how much she was really able to dig deep to help my super super tight muscles.
I left feeling like a new person, and was very happy with the experience. I highly recommend!

I highly recommend Lisa. I came to see her with bad shoulder pain and stiffness and she worked her magic. She also gave me pointers on stretches to do at home to also improve how I feel. I am grateful and will return to Santa Cruz Balance Massage.

Lisa was absolutely wonderful! I’ve had neck problems since my accident and it often gets seized up. I have been to several massage therapists but I have never felt such dramatic effects as I got from Lisa! It’s been days and I still feel like I’m on a cloud. I highly recommend her!

I’m writing this review as I sit in my car after my massage because I could not wait to write a review. Lisa is everything everyone else has said and much more! We talked about any problem areas or areas I wanted her to focus on beforehand, which I appreciated. She really feels the knots and tension in your body and works it out. I stumbled in feeling like a wreck and walked out feeling ten times better and revived. I would highly recommend seeing Lisa, especially if you have any chronic pain-​she works magic! Altogether, very pleased with the massage and can’t wait to come back for another!

If I could I would give Lisa 10 stars! She is super understanding and made me feel at ease by explaining to me everything she was doing and asking for my feedback. The ambiance was perfect with dim lighting, soothing music and a comfortable temperature on this very hot day! The massage itself was amazing and I can’t wait to go back! She had a consultation with me prior to the massage to asses what she needed to do. She was able to pinpoint the problem I was having and solved it right away, even giving me tips how to avoid it next time. Overall she did a superb job and I would highly recommend her!

Lisa’s massage was such a great compliment to my vacation in Santa Cruz!
I rarely bother with massages when i’m on vacation as I’m always worried that I’m going to get unsatisfying spa massage vs. skilled bodywork. Any worries I may have had were quickly dispelled by Lisa. After a few minutes of consultation in her lovely, welcoming studio she got down to the business of working out the havoc that computer jobs wreak on a body.
I got so relaxed I had to fight falling asleep … not a bad thing except that I didnt want to miss a minute of the massage. I felt GREAT afterwards!
Lisa is a lovely person and skilled M.T. If I lived in SC I’d get a regular spot on her calendar. Schedule bodywork once or twice a month and you’ll never believe you much better your body feels and works.

A great massage! A quite location. Easy parking. A calming room. Lisa does a quick 5 – 10 get to know you form –with a short interview-​she is instinctual and knowledgable. I felt very relaxed. I really am not a fan of Groupon– due to someone working for pennies of their worth (groupon gets most the $) but in this case I found my new massage go to person. I will definitely be back! She also does hot stone massage! And has great packages of massages– I will be back

I purchased a groupon for a 90 minute massage for me and my husband to get back to back massages with her. We came from out of town (which kind of hurts the rebook rate and purpose of groupon) but wanted a therapist who would be our «go to therapist» when we were in town. Great instructions, attention to detail, spent time addressing our individual needs. An attractive room with a skilled therapist, we couldn’t be happier. She is worth it!

I found Lisa through an initial 3 package deal through Groupon, but she was so fantastic, I’ve since purchased two more packages of 5 massages from her. She is truly one of the most skilled massage therapists I’ve ever encountered. I’ve gotten a few massages in the last year while traveling or through other deals and always find myself disappointed and rushing back to Lisa. She’s been excellent at truly helping me with my ongoing pain from commuting and being at a computer all day. I highly recommend Lisa!

I recently was in a car accident and after a day of driving for business, was in a lot of pain. I called this place last minute and Lisa was so kind and got me in immediately — with the Unilocal special. Lisa not only interrupted her dinner to accomodate my schedule, but then stayed on extra and barely charged me for the overage.
This is to say nothing about the absolute relief that I experienced after an hour + on her table. Her technique really helped work the muscles and her demeanor only added to the overall experience. Thank you Lisa —

Lisa was amazing! Her attention to my needs and response to my body was just what I needed. The gentle relaxation was of course wonderful, but her feedback about my body was invaluable. I started stretching my hamstrings more regularly (at her recommendation) and I was able to almost eliminate the lower back pain that was ailing me. I was impressed at how receptive she was in tailoring the massage to what I wanted. She asked me what kind of pressure I like and was great at being attuned to my needs. I saw her regularly to help with an injury and also for relaxation. It helped with both. My back felt much better, even after the first appointment. And I was calmer for the rest of the day. Very peaceful.
