Sunflower Spring Spa

Tina was great! Knew just how to hit all the knots and sore spots. I went in for an hour and extended 30 minutes. I will go back soon. I highly recommend Sunflower Spring Spa.

I recently moved to the area and found myself in dire need of a massage today. I have an old injury that relates to muscle spasms and knots and had a hard time walking. I went down the Unilocal list trying to get a same day appointment and this was the only place I could get in at the time I needed.
I found the place easily and was greeted immediately. It was super quiet, cute, and peaceful. She didn’t come across as the cookie cutter massage place that goes through motions. She asked the pressure I wanted and I also pointed out my sore area.
Wow! I can’t say enough great things. The pressure was perfect. I can take and prefer a deep tissue massage with hard pressure. She was able to hold this for the hour long session. I felt great.
The price is so reasonable and the assuage was wonderful. I will be going back on a regular basis.
Please note it is street parking and she might be the only one so if something comes up she might leave the room.

I am an out of Towner and fly here frequently for business. I had just run a marathon and had to fly into town the next day. Needless to say, I was absolutely desperate for a massage. It was a holiday so many places were booked solid or not open.
After frantically searching for an hour online, I came across this little gem and boy am I glad I did. First off, her prices are extremely reasonable compared to all of the other places I called. Second, I get massages often and so it means a lot when I say this is one of the best massages I’ve ever gotten. Seriously, she knows what she’s doing!
Unlike most massage therapists, she did not complete a «routine» mindlessly going through the motions, she would find knots, areas on my body with tension, and work on those areas as opposed to wasting time on other areas. I also love tons of pressure and she always applies the right amount.
Since I come into town every few months for business I consider this a little treat for myself every time I come up. I wish I could bring her back to TX with me!

The massage technique is pretty good which is why I am giving three stars.
However, for the price, having the phone ring and the therapist go out and get it 3 – 5 times during your massage is unacceptable.
I understand you need to take phone calls to book appointments, but something else needs to be worked out before I go back.
Put your phone on silent with a voice message that says you are currently with a client and will call back within a short time. Something.

Great value for an excellent 1 hr massage. Tina was SO strong, and was able to take me very last minute. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, and would definitely go back next time I’m in Santa Cruz.

A few days ago I was headed to the chiropractor in Scotts Valley and I knew I needed a massage first. I called about 7 or 8 massage businesses in the Santa Cruz area and none had an opening. Sunflower was the first one I found that could take me short notice. I was apprehensive since I had never been there, but WOW! was I surprised! Tina was super nice and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. She led me into a small, but very warm (which is what I like), dimly lit room with a warm bed. Her massage was very professional and absolutely perfect. She worked out my knots and helped me feel so much better. She also used hot stones (my first time) to soften the knots so she could work on them better. I will definitely be back here! This place was great! I actually only found it through CL, so I was a bit unsure of how it would be. However, I think it is one of the best massages that I’ve gotten. Tina was wonderful. She was very professional and kind. I went in with a sore neck and she did everything she could to try and make it better. It isn’t 100% 3 hours after, but it feels a whole lot better. The room was clean and welcoming. I definitely recommend coming here!

5 starts for Tina and her staff here at Sun Flower Spa! Me and my boyfriend are visting Santa Cruz from San Francisco for Labor Day weekend. First thing on our list was getting massages! We tried calling many places and everything was booked up! Kept on searching and we found Sun Flower Spa! Tina was very nice on the phone and told us she had two openings for a hour full body massage! I was lucky enough to get Tina! I am a haircolorist and my industry takes a toll on your body she went above and beyond all my expectations! Constantly asking me if pressure was okay and played very relaxing music! Made me sleep like a baby! I highly reccomend Tina and anyone at the spa! My boyfriend saw someone else at the spa while I was with Tina and he was over the moon happy with his service! Anytime I am in San Cruz I will def be coming back!

I just walked in and had a fabulous 30 minute massage. My neck and shoulders were screaming at me from too much computer time and the masseuse knew exactly how to alleviate my pain. I will definitely be back!
FYI — if you’re at Kuumbwa Jazz Club for a gig, this great massage is right across the street.

I am a highly experienced massage-​getter. Ive had hundreds over the last 7 years or so. Despite the looks and the price of this place, it is NOT your run of the mill strip-​mall Asian foot/​body massage place.
Tina is a highly skilled single owner operator. This place is tiny, but she is STRONG and knows what she is doing. Best massage I’ve had in Santa Cruz. And it’s a great value.

Went and got a massage yesterday. I am always afraid of letting getting massages, I hate people touching my body. But I was in pain and I needed someone to help me. Went here and told the lady that I was uncomfortable taking my shirt off and she was like «No problem».
Did a 60 minute massage with and felt great even while wearing 2 T-​shirts. I know its kind of a weird review, but these gals were totally accommodating.
