This place has never let me down. I always order their Carne Azada Burritos for lunch time and they never disappoint! They give you a small bag of chips with your order and they have a mini Salsa bar where you can pick your own salsa to take in a little cup. Giving it a 4 star because they need to have two people up front instead of one when its rush hour and they need an update on the dining area!

My husband, my daughter and i just went here. We are from out of town and found this restaurant on Unilocal. It is very clean and food is flavorful. My husband had the Carnis Sada combo and I had the enchilada and chili Riano combo and both were delicious but by far the fried bananas are the best

Great service and great food. You MUST try their super hot salsa that is individually packaged in a container. It really is super spicy. Love this place. Will come here again whenever I’m in Santa Cruz.

I really like this place. Very clean, great service and the food is delicious. I had the Super Chicken burrito and a Mexican Coke. The gentleman at the register whom I’m assuming is the owner, had a very positive attitude. The one small quip I had was the chips, they weren’t that great. But, not enough to sway my 5 star rating.

I am pretty sure this place is under new ownership. It is super clean, more welcoming, and friendlier than whoever was running it before. I was actually debating on coming since I thought it was the old management but I figured I was craving pupusas enough(plus it’s the only place to get them) I’m glad it is cleaner, it makes it look a million times better.

Came here for a quick bite and ordered 2 pupusas de loroco. They were delicious! Not too soggy and the perfect amount of cheese. If you check in here you get a coupon for a buy one pupusa get one free. The restaurant looked pretty clean and they have a giant TV. They also sell paletas(Mexican Popsicles)!

Driving through town I saw their sign for pupusas and had to stop. Very good! Viva El Salvador!

the worst Mexican food I’ve tasted… Verdaderamente nada de sabor. Muy caro. Nada que ver.

It was suspiciously not busy when we got there but slowly filled up. It is well venitlated so you cant smell any food, which is always weird, but was fine. Asada tacos were awesome. I liked the quesidilla, but my wife thought there was too much sour cream. The fruit drink and horchata were also fantastic. Pupusas were tasty enough. Service was attentive and prompt. Won’t hesitate to drop in again if I’m hungry around here. Better than Jack across the street.

First off service is horrible. This place used to be all about service and delicious food. We used to come here many times but after change of ownership the service is real upsetting. We ask about details of different dishes and we got told to look at the menu. The orders were mixed up and they refused to fix them. The quality of food is definitely changed. Would not recommend, you will be wasting your time and money.

Went for lunch and had a great meal! Their pupusas are excellent and would recommend them if you go there. I ordered the revuelta(pork and cheese) type and the loroco(vegetarian flower) ones and was extremely pleased. I brought a friend along that was born in El Salvador, and wanted his opinion since the pupusa is the national dish for that country — — and he said they were one of the best. I look forward to going there again.

Terrible. Absolutely disgusting. The pupusas were doughy, almost soggy. The rice and beans were bland. The yucca was so dry I could barely even chew it, even after slathering it in salsa. And I couldn’t even wash it down with beer because they are«having problems with the city» and can’t sell beer at the moment. Save your money or go to another taqueria.

I came here on a whim for lunch today. First off, right when I walked in I was struck by how impeccably clean it is. The man working here was very hospitable. I was delighted to see the menu went beyond the pupusas I came for; it is in fact a full service Mexican restaurant as well. There are fantastic vegetarian options on the menu, but I was here to chase my pupusa craving. They were excellent. I’ll be back for more!

Really good taqueria! No longer the pupusa place that was uhh… a little frightful. Jalapeños is clean, inexpensive, and really tasty. The chicken nachos are really good, the vegetarian burritos have actual vegetables(not just a regular burrito minus the meat). I pray to J they stay in business!

Excellent food and hospitality. We are vegetarians and the downtown veggie burrito was the best veggie burrito we have ever had.
