Had a great meeting with David today as we discussed the fine art of the pop-up party experience. He’s a smart foodie with a hands on approach and farming background. I look forward to planning a few events with Yam & Bean.

The Yam & Bean is the best catering company that I have ever worked with for an event. David is an incredible chef — creative, artistic, accommodating, professional, approachable, and unique! He catered a multi-day, multi-meal event for a scientific meeting that I hosted, and everything was so delicious and fresh, and the presentation was beautiful. There were a few vegans in the group, and he had delectable options for everyone at each meal. It was a taste sensation and a unanimous success!

I worked with David and Jade at an event recently and found them not only to be delightful people but excellent in the kitchen. The food was beautiful, fresh, as local as possible, as organic as possible. David’s sauces were inventive and lovely. Jade’s breads and cookies were awesome. The whole event went smoothly. I was impressed with their level of professionalism. The staff was happy and the guests were treated to delicious, lovingly prepared food.

If you are looking for a quality caterer/chef service for your next fine event, Yam & Bean is an amazing service that I highly recommend. The owner is a knowledgeable chef that not only has experience in fine cooking, but also is experienced in finding the most high-quality, LOCAL, and SEASONAL ingredients and creating gorgeous presentations that will impress even the most critical foodie! Other than the wonderful food that Yam & Bean consistently produces, the staff is friendly, knowledgeable about food sourcing, and very professional. 5 stars!!!

David and co know how to make delicious, fresh food… without making a big deal about it. I’ve dealt with self-important caterers before. Yam & Bean gets it done quietly… their food speaks for itself!

The ultimate foodie fish tacos with handmade tortillas, spicy aioli for flair, pickled onion, and freshly caught fish from our nearby waters. Good food in an already great environment, Companion Bakeshop, which if you haven’t been, you’re missing out, because they make the best breads in town and also host pizza night, oh and the bakery is also open for us bake lovin’ folks. I had the COMBO* plate, which has both the YAM-BEAN taco and the Snapper taco, because you know, I’m indecisive that way. Having recently been introduced to the fine arts of fishin’, Snapper Taco blew me out of the water. *Ok, if you’ve read my other post you know that I’m somewhat price conscious, at $ 14 for the combo plate, I straddled between compromising curiosity for economics, but the enviro side of me kicked in with arguments for quality ingredients. In the end, I’m glad to have tried both main dishes, I was SUPER well fed, my tastebuds were joyfully singing, so much so when I finally(big portions take a while to ingest) made it to my dance class, food comma ensued, and well… lets just say that my barre exercises were on the comically lethargic side. Yam-Bean, I’m hooked.
