Established in 2008.

Vino Prima is a family operation run by Larry Jackson and Stacey Rennert.

We select some of California’s superior boutique wines and provide them to you by the glass or flight.

We also sell bottles to go at great prices!

This place was so… amazing. Friendly staff, good selection of wine amd snacks. On Tuesday’s they validate 2 hr parking for locals. Such good vibes. The owner Larry is a great guy. Makes you feel right at home. Nicole was spot on with her wine recommendations. I wish I lived closer so I could come here more often. Great experience. Highly recommend. Will return.

Almost at the end of the pier in spot with amazing views, it can be a little hard to find but totally worth it. Fantastic selection & the staff are awesome, especially Stacey the owner. Do yourself a favour and leave time to go there for a relaxing wine or 3… Or a mimosa with a cheese plate. Highly recommended!

Absolutely beautiful views and just as wondeful wine! The setting was perfect: a fancy glass of wine with a majestic sunset. My husband and I stopped in for a quick happy hour drink that turned into over an hour adventure. Larry was very knowledgeable about wine as well as extremely friendly. He was easy to talk to and engaged each customer as if they were well-​known friends. The wine selection was «high end» for us, but still reasonably priced and delicious. We wish we had more time here in Santa Cruz to visit longer and enhance our wine knowledge. We will return on our next vacation.

Came in to enjoy a few mimosas and wine flights while watching the sunset. The sunset was gorgeous and the ambiance and staff made the experience that much better. Definitely looking forward to coming back and trying more options.

Don’t miss this spot! If you are familiar with the Santa Cruz Wharf, look above Marini’s candy store, and you’ll find Vino Prima. The location has spectacular views of the Santa Cruz Coast. It is a relatively large place, so it is good for small or large groups. There offer a large selection of wines to taste, order by the glass, and many of bottles to take home. They also offer a selection of beer. The owners are very friendly and well informed about the wines they have in stock.

What a catch this place is. First off I know wine and their prices are right (don’t change cause I said this). Stopped here during the rain to dry out. Guy was very calm to greet us. Wine was good and had cheese to eat if you want. views are cool if you can get a seat near window. Was warm as well which was good.

Spent a wonderful Wednesday afternoon at Vino Prima wine tasting and talking with the owner. They have a great wine selection and are more than happy to talk to you about what you’re sampling and recommending other wines to sample, unlike some other wine bars I’ve visited. This place was a great find and I will definitely be back! If you live in Santa Cruz or are simply visiting, I highly recommend this place. The views of the ocean don’t hurt the experience either. ;)

Besides having a killer view, the folks @ Vino Prima are tres knowledgeable about wines. They take care of me, even when swamped. It makes my head swim. And another thing, the cheese plates and the smoked salmon are wonderful. It’s become my go-​to place for relaxation, after a hard work day — or on the weekend, just to sip ‘n enjoy the sights.

If you feel beautiful, stunning views are offensive, great wine selection is a mistake, having a sublime time is a sin worth avoiding, and great service show the terrorist must be winning, you should steer clear of here.

This is a great little spot to do some wine tasting. I have been here a few times over the years, although I’d be by more if I lived in town. The atmosphere is great, and the prices are affordable. My only complaint was the reds were a little too warm, but not so much that it ruined anything. Great service, great view, great wine, what more could you ask for? Definitely worth stopping by if you like wine bars.

Probably the best stop on the wharf! The staff was super friendly and helpful — they were chatting with everyone and were not pushy. The views were amazing, a great place to watch the sunset too. They had a great wine selection for being a small wine bar and also several wine flight options. The happy hour specials last until 6pm so stop by for a great priced glass of wine!

This place has a great atmosphere. Comfy couches and plenty of seating at different bar tables. There is also some amazing paintings on the walls that are for sell. We ordered the Zinfandel, Chardonnay, and Cabernet tasting flights. The wine was decent but nothing amazing, but the pours are great. You get a good amount of wine and it’s a nice atmosphere to hang out in with the water surrounding the lounge.

There’s nothing particularly amazing about this place, except that there wasn’t much to dislike either. I found the tasting prices rather high — everything was listed on the menu as a 3 taste flight, and the pours were generous. Also, I got poured more than was promised, sooo… Whatevs. It worked out.
We enjoyed the company at the bar, and the view doesn’t hurt either. There is no bathroom inside, I was praying we could find a clean one at the warf, but that doesn’t seem to exist.
We had a great time. It was a good way to spend an hour perched above the warf and people watching :)

Prepare to be dazzled; prepare to be amazed; prepare to be very attracted to Stacy. Overall, the ambiance is of a pearl inside of an oyster. Specifically, the outside smells like an oyster, and I want to sniff Stacy. When in Vino Prima Wine Bar, I suggest trying the wine. It’s one of the best things on the menu. Sure, they have food, they might even serve you some water … but the star of the show is the fermented grapes.
Vino Prima Wine Bar is excited to grape you in the mouth. and you should totally let them.
