20142nd Annual SFS Art Fest A well organized event organized by the City of Santa Fe Springs, The Heritage Arts Committee & Casita Del Pueblo(in nearby Whittier). Along w the sponsors they came together to create this wonderful art filled night. The Clarke Estate grounds served as an romantic & inviting space. I had never been here so it was a treat to explore. Wonderful & genuinely talented local artists set up in booths in the lawn area. There were also several temporary walls set up for a sort of outdoor exhibit. Local student artists were also featured in the rear of the house but I think their work could have been better curated. Music complimented the art & venue. The rear of the house had tables & chairs as well as the main stage where people were delighted by the sounds of ‘Amanda Castro Band’. Interior of the house had art on display along w ‘Café Caribe’ performing in the living room. The patio of the house had delicately placed art work accompanied by harpist, Ms. Mikayla Theone. Hors d’oeuvres were served & there were special wristbands for those 21& over. Parking was available at the adjacent city facilities but did overflow into the residential streets. Overall this was a spectacular event & look forward to next year. I was impressed w the organization & management of the event. It was evident through the presence of smiling volunteers, the art variety/selection & authorities present that this was something put together w a lot of love for the arts.

I’m a lover of many things — food, nature, theatre. And, I’m also a lover of art. 2nd annual Santa Fe Springs Art Fest Plenty of artwork on display for enjoyment & to take home, with an emphasis on the Latin community Best pin-up ever, Betti Page My ex-GF. We shared some good times in the back of an El Camino ;p One of the artists did quick sketches for $ 20 Vendors did brisk business, with their handcrafted items enticing money away from people WAPADH gives a creative outlet for those with special needs Our ears were treated to live music on this sunny evening The harpist rocked! Now, the main reason I came — FREEFOOD&REFRESHMENTS!!! Manuel’s Original El Tepeyac Café provided chips & salsas so hot, they burned down to my very cold, black heart ;p Hummus, mushrooms, carrots & cucumbers provided the veggie portions Passed light bites made the rounds, of which I stalked the waitstaff like a lion stalks a gazelle. Stuffed mushrooms Skewers Charcuterie Taco Thursday! I stuffed myself hand over fist with these Cucumber agua fresca The dessert spread was a hit, with everything being gone in about 45 mins Doesn’t this brownie look stupid good? Tickets were available for purchase of wine, beer & sangria I did an H20 run for these bartenders, and I got a free sangria for my trouble, of which I only had about half ;p Jarritos brought their real sugar sodas. I took a Tamarind & Mango. At 44 grams of sugar per bottle, I think I’ll have just a sip a day I had a fun time attending the Santa Fe Springs Art Fest. I enjoyed viewing all the fine artwork, listening to some great live music & feasting like a king. A lot of light bites = dinner ;p I plan to attend every year, as this was an enjoyable, free local event with many people in attendance. Get here early like I did, otherwise you’ll have to fight for parking. Not to mention the appetizers ;p Highly recommend!
