I recent called regarding a computer on warranty still. But they wont cover my keys popping off an 5 others not working. IT works when it feels like. So be careful or dont be mislead by the word warranty. Better Yet just get a mac. You can walk into any store to get repairs if need Toshiba sent me to 2 people who weren’t even allowed or cleared to even fix it. if you née proof they can look in the system to cheek. ask them what happen to customer with Serial 10 7435p. do ask at least this question if you do bye. You will thank me.

DO NOT GIVE ANY OF YOUR MONEY to this company. All of the reviews you read on here and on the Department of Consumer Affairs’ website are completely true about this company. I bought a laptop brand new, over $ 400, used it no more than say 15 times for light internet browsing and e-​mail and the entire thing crashed and supposedly needs a new hard drive. It’s out of warranty and they couldn’t care less. I’m sorry, no one spends their hard earned $ 400 on a laptop and expects it to crash after that much use and only a couple of years. Toshiba could not be bothered with helping with any repairs. I have filed a complaint with the Department of Consumer Affairs and the contact at Toshiba was Guy Pryor and I also tried contacting someone in this department as well. I will be posting Mr. Pryor’s responses on here after I receive them. This is a complete joke of a company, customer service is non existent, and they produce complete junk. If I can stop just one person from wasting their hard earned money on ANYTHING with this company’s name, I’ll have done my job. PLEASE stay far away, unless what you are looking for is to spend your money on a $ 400 paperweight. Do your research, look at the Department of Consumer Affairs’ website and ratings on this company. I promise your decision will be an easy one after that.

its a freaking nightmare dealing with toshiba

I am using this one poor little star because i was glad my hands work to type this review of Toshiba support/​sales/​website.
No stars for you, Wrongshiba.
My husband has a Satellite computer. It is a 2+ year old pc which has some issues but a local very attentive computer repair guy instructed us to get a new battery before we go into troubleshooting.
So. I got online and started looking at the batteries on their site.
A chat window came up and so i agreed to chat with customer care, figuring what the heck, cannot hurt.
The person on the chat very confidently asked me some numbers like serial number etc and rapidly popped me into a window with a link to a Toshiba battery.
Thinking this was legit, I ordered it.
A few days later we had a battery that had nothing to do with the model we have.
It does not fit, nowhere near the same shape.
I then tried to call, and tried to call, and tried to call.
Don’t even bother: they loop a mechanical choice of 3 options or so and then you are stuck realizing you have wasted 15 minutes and did not get a human being.
Back to Chat Chump.
Chat Chump she gives us instructions on how to return the battery, sort of.
There does not appear to be any email forthcoming to confirm a Battery return label from either Toshiba or Fedex.
We wait 2 – 3 days.
Email shows up but there is no return label attached.
My brain suddenly figures out that Amazon will make me feel much better, fast.
In seconds we matched the battery and it’s on the way.
Back to Toshiba, a week later we get a FedEx label and the wrong battery is on its way back to Wrongshiba.
By the time that ordeal is over with this place, Amazon has a great transaction which makes me realize I should have done that in the first place.
I would never order anything from Toshiba again.

WORST customer service EVER!!!
I bought a Toshiba laptop and the hard drive died within 3 years. It gave me problems from day one. Anytime I called customer service they were completely unhelpful and could not do anything to help. I had to request a recover CD for my operating system, and the quickest they could get it to me was 7 – 10 days. I asked if I could pay for expedited shipping and they said no. My package was never delivered, when I called again, the best they could do was send another one that would take another 7 – 10 days.
I will NEVER buy any other Toshiba products, and I would never recommend them to anyone.

Horrible support! Seems like the calls get routed to a foreign country. The rep hung up on me the first time abruptly. The second time their system hung up on me!
Finally I was able to get through in the 3^rd call. During the call, the serial number was asked 4 – 5 times… After you give them the serial number, they will repeat it every time for verification… which is really annoying! I mean what is the purpose of asking for serial numbers by the automated system if the reps are going to ask you for it anyways?
The reps do not understand proper English and so won’t answer your questions properly. They are charging extra money for shipping the products to them for repairs which are still under warranty. I was not even allowed to speat to the supervisor when I asked to waive such charges.
Ultimately, even the third rep just hung up! I will definitely have to think before buying Toshiba products again!

How many Toshiba customer service agents does it take to screw in a light bulb? Did you try turning it off and on again? Hold please, while I transfer you to Ganeet.
Bought a Toshiba Satellite L455 laptop. Within a year, the physical volume button stopped working. It wasn’t until the hard drive crashed that I had to deal with their customer service. I blocked out most of this nightmare, so I will be short: I was told different things by different people who I could barely understand. Some was misinformation, others were lies. I was transferred, retransferred, untransferred, undertransferred, every prefix imaginable. Managers promised to call back, and none of my reference numbers seemed to matter as they seldom had record of previous calls, and certainly no record of the rare instances in which an agent offered me some sort of assistance. There was some nonsense about buying start-​up discs, for which I received two different price. The worst experience was trying to ship my computer back at a UPS shop. I went to three different shops who would not accept my shipping number provided by UPS. When I got Toshiba on the phone while there, they refused to talk directly to the UPS people. I have never had worse customer service. And I’ve been to Hitler’s Ice Cream.

So I think this is the only place that I can vent right now. I am completely frustrated with Toshiba and its products and customer service. I opened a brand new computer and after it wouldn’t power on, I called the warranty service that i purchased. But when I called them, they told me that I needed to call Toshiba directly because it fell in the first year. I call them and they tell me to call back the other people because I should be able to return it. At this point I’m just like FIX MY PROBLEM!!! So I call back the next day and then I’m told that before they can proceed I need to register my laptop and call them back!!! ARGH!!! That’s not the end!!! I call them back after I tried to register the laptop only to get an error message that says «Internal error (RM101), please try again later or please call 1−800−457−7777». that number is Toshiba’s warranty number that I’ve been calling the whole time!!! It gets worse. I call and then I get told to call another number with Toshiba because for technical support because then cant assist. What the heck!!! Not only is the customer service crappy and the employees unable to give full and adequate information but their processes are garbage and the site is completely user friendly-​less. The irony is that this was bought after my previous laptop (yes a Toshiba) went downhill. Shame on my for believing in this product.
