We are a team of very knowledgable dog lovers ! Robin and Sheri are dog trainers and groomers that opened a business in Santa Fe to fill a need for a safe, clean and BIG doggy daycare that could train large groups of dog to play nice in our 1 acre facility.

Robin and Sheri are co-​owners.

Sheri is a real animal person with decades of experience in loving all sorts! She is the «people» person for our clients and staff. Come meet Colby… he’s the CEO!

Robin Morehouse, CTC, is a graduate of the New York School of Dog Grooming (1988) and the prestigious San Francisco SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers (2006), known worldwide as the Harvard of dog training schools.

Robin possesses decades of experience in dog care, grooming and training, as well as extensive knowledge about canine nutrition and alternative health care. The entire staff at Paws Plaza is trained in modern, dog-​friendly management and behavior modification.

History

Established in 2007.

After graduating from a world renowned Dog Training Academy, Robin began to encounter dog owners that needed support services run by knowledgable dog experts. Many owners struggle to provide enough exercise, training and socialization so we opened Paws Plaza … a dog daycare run by dog trainers. Our methods of dog management are very different from typical facilities. We encourage dogs to run, roughhouse, play with toys and to communicate to each other in ways that are normal for dogs. Our dog handlers are trained to interperet appropriate behaviors. We have separate daycare spaces for our small/​young dogs and the large dogs for maximum safety. We are NOT a dog warehouse… we make sure that your dog is tired and better trained at the end of the day. Paws Plaza prides itself on being the first business in Santa Fe to invite owners to stay with their pets during nail trims, bathing and grooming sessions. We want you to help us get the perfect haircut and keep your pet relaxed.

I want to say my dog goes to Paw’s Plaza and has since he was alittle puppy of 4 months. almost everyday while my husband and I work. As soon as we say, time to go to «Doggie Play» he is so excited and sits at the door with a eager LOOK waiting impatiently to get in the car! They are ALL so wonderful with him, and we feel absolutely that our dog is loved and cared for! We get to see pictures of his day and feedback on how he does!!! The play area is so well planned out and attractive!!! Alot of thought has gone into it! Thank you Robin! We get his cut/​shampoo there as well! We appreciate the time and trust that is given to him! THANK YOU AGAIN! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PAW’S PLAZA!

I made a reservation for day camp and THEN I read the reviews. I have to say I was nervous about bringing our 6 mo golden retriever puppy here. We have been traveling the country and she’s been going to day camp on and off for 2 months. Well, there was nothing to worry about from what I could see. They were very courteous, friendly and professional. They cleared the pens so my dog didn’t have to walk into a crowd as the new kid. They all seemed to enjoy their work and enjoyed the people as much as the dogs. The only suggestion I could make so far is to have webcams, which so many others have

BEWARE! Owner extorted me. Kidnapped my dog until I called the police. They do not have up to date vaccination records either.
Owner threatened to keep my dog and drop her off at the pound in two days unless I show up in 5 minutes with $ 200 in cash. I called the police and she quickly changed her story. Scary experience.

I would highly recommend Paws Plaza for grooming, day care and boarding. This establishment is so professional, so caring, so sensitive to my pet. I am very grateful for Robin, as she has helped me enormously with training and grooming. When my dog comes home from just a few hours to a few overnights, she is so happy and loves it there. These are very experienced professions who give excellent care. It can get a little pricey, but so so worth it!

This is a five star review for grooming. Nickey (sp?) is beyond amazing. My pups adore her and it’s the third time they have been groomed by her. When I came in to pick them up I heard her laughing and playing with them. They look great, smell great, and are always so happy when I pick them up. Thanks for that Nickey! Now, I will say the only downside is the in take people can be a total bummer. I take my dogs with me when I travel. I pay attention to rules and regulations that are required to be able to bring my pups anywhere. So I knew that this particular doggy day care facility had issues with the parvov vac. So I didn’t bring my guys there for months until after they had their vacs for that. And yet I still got a lecture from the intake person about it. I was taking my boys in on my lunch break, I had all the paperwork because I knew the policies of the their day care. It sucked that even though I had all their paperwork in order and it still was an issue. Oh, and plus, they charged me an extra ten bucks to «integrate» my dogs to their facility.

The groomers have been rough with both my dogs on a few occasions, this last time spending two minutes cutting his nails, all of which bled (The quick was long, but this has never happened before), not even asking me if I wanted them to use a Dremel or volunteering one, and, after these few minutes, charging me $ 19.50. outrageous. That’s a $ 468 an hour nail trim not including tip.

They are always ready to fit us in, and take great care with my little guy for nail grinding and grooming. The work is thorough and well done and lasts! My terrier is pretty scared of grooming and they treat him with gentleness and treats afterwards.

We’ve taken our Norwich and Corgi here numerous times. Nikki is wonderful person and a very good groomer. Have never had a problem until recently. Jose carried the Corgi in for a bath and trim. Which we’ve done every 2 weeks for the last 8 months. He arrived 20 minutes early as he usually does. This time the co-​owner Jennifer was at the counter. She refused to take Toby 20 minutes early which had never been a problem for any of the other employees. The other people just put him with the other dogs to play until his appointment. She said that was unacceptable and they shouldn’t do that. She used a very rude and condescending tone. So for 20 minutes the owner is willing to lose a regular customer. I wish I’d read reviews here before ever doing business. It sounds like plenty of other people have had similar experiences with the owners.

We’ve been going to Paws Plaza for about two years now and we have had good experiences. The reason I am giving it 4-​stars is because our dog ingested a fabric toy once while there but she did pass it. Our dog isn’t exactly easy (a temperamental chow-​rotty mix) but they manage her well and they are flexible and helpful when we are in a crunch. The staff is well-​trained and it is an efficient operation. We purchase a «card» of twenty 5-​hour sessions – we call it Sophie’s dance card – so we can manage the drop-​offs and pick-​ups quickly. I like to say we slow the car enough so that Sophie doesn’t skin her knees when she jumps out.

simply a miracle worker… we took our little Tibetan terrier in monthes ago. it was great. but today was our mati’s turn. a bouvier with a mind of her own… I can not tell you how relieved I am to know that I can depend on them. they did a wonderful job… no one else even came close. this woman knows dogs. do not hesitate… no dog can be such a challenge as mati… for the first time, I can relax… having found a groomer that I can really trust…

Wow. I wish I could give this place zero stars after the experience we just had.
We have been taking our two dogs here for about a year and have been very pleased with the service and skills of all the groomers… until today. We had the misfortune of encountering the service of one of the owners, Robin (you can read more about her in many others’ reviews.) My wife had taken our eight year old chihuahua in for a nail trim, which he usually needs to be muzzled for. Robin acted as if this request was the end of days. She started slamming tools around and lecturing my wife on how inconvenient it was and how the vet charges so much more for a nail trim. When she did the nail job, our dog was whimpering and Unilocaling, which he has NEVER done with any other groomer or vet. She did the trim «for free» but still made my wife buy a muzzle. When I called the business to address the issue, she told me that it’s «just not worth it» to do nail trims any more. If that’s the case, I recommend to her that they don’t offer the service. She pointed out not charging for the nails, but that’s not really the point; it’s a matter of behavior and attitude. If I was a cook who spat in your food but didn’t charge you for it, would that make it ok? In a patronizing and condescending tone she said she was «soooo sorry if she hurt (my wife’s) feelings.» She also said that, as the owner, she «has the right to change her mind about how she runs her business whenever she wants,» which, from a business standpoint, is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Our response is that we can change our minds about where we take our business. Based on other reviews and peoples horrible experiences with her, when is this lady going to realize she’s driving her own business into an early grave? Not only our dogs, but my and my wife’s moms dogs will never be returning to paws plaza. Six dogs worth of business gone!

I was traveling to Santa Fe and had a quick meeting for work, the only problem was that I had my not so friendly Australian Shepherd with me. I was relieved when I called ahead and they said it would be no problem. My dog usually doesn’t like strangers but she didn’t even bark, she seemed to love it there.
All the staff seemed to be dog people and they were so nice and accommodating.
Definitely recommended if you need a doggie bath or day care in Santa Fe!

I have been taking my Newfoundland to another groomer in town and have been frustrated because they were rude, expensive and did a poor job. I am thrilled to have experienced Paws Plaza and Nikki the groomer today. Everyone is pleasant and nice and exceptionally kind to dogs and Nikki went out of her way to make Violet feel at ease. She bent down and put her arms around her and offered treats. However the best part is that she listened to what I wanted. She also went the extra mile to bathe her several times due to all the sand from living on an arroyo. My dog was in and out in an hour and a half… no more waiting around all day to be groomed. The price was excellent and reasonable and her grooming was fantastic. She has not looked better since we moved to Santa Fe last summer. Paws Plaza is clean and bright and they even offered me the chance to stay with my dog. I cannot recommend this facility enough.

I’ve been taking my two small dogs here for several months for day care and grooming. They absolutely love coming here and get so excited when they walk in the door. The staff is super friendly accomodating and takes great care of my pups. The grooming is great too they do a «Face Feet and Fanny» which is great for winter when my dogs just need a bit of a touch up. Overal I highly recommend Paws Plaza!

I took my 5 month old puppy to Paws Plaza. I only left her at day care for two hours each time. On the 5th visit, Robin handed my my dog, and said her foot got cut on their fence, but it was no big deal. My dogs foot was bleeding all over my back seat, so I took her to the vet. Three stitches later, I called Jennifer, one of the owners of Paws, and told her about my dogs foot, and to please pass the message on to Robin. I never heard a word back, so I called again a week later. I reached Robin, who basically had no time for me, and had her partner Sherry call me back. Sherry explained that it was my call to take the dog to the vet, and they would not have recommended this. Basically, I left my dog in their supposedly professional care, and they could have cared less that she got injured at their establishment. I was not asking then to pay for the vet, I was simply asking that they have concern and caring for my dog, who I left in their care.
My puppy was getting too big to be with the puppy’s, and too young to be with the big dogs, and they have no area for larger puppies, so she was in a small space, and got injured. Needless to say, I will not be retuning to Paws Plaza.

I take my cat here to get his occasional bath and nail trimming. It’s clear the staff knows what they are doing. I also buy all of my cats’ food here. They are both on raw food and organic crunchies with some sardine oil to supplement. I love this place.

Wonderful! they do such a thorough, caring job, so loving towards our dog, a huge hairy large breed, he always looks amazing after his session. We’ve been several times and are always impressed. A great selection of healthy foods & treats too.

We love the care, people, and perfect haircuts all at affordable prices! We’ve had two dogs who went to Paws before going over the rainbow bridge to doggie heaven and both loved Paws; happy days for them included great care and play. Now that we have two new pups, both are lucky enough to go to Paws as well. Happy dogs are the best dogs :)

This is definitely a doggie place. Don’t take a cat here to be groomed, they will cut all the cat’s hair off, no matter what you ask that they do. The groomer said my very long haired cat looked
more natural that way.
