What an amazing experience for my husband and I. I had the pleasure of receiving the perfect facial with Nicole. Every time I’ve left a spa in the past I always end up leaving feeling pressured into products that I wasn’t sure I wanted. Nicole guided me through recommendations and encouraged me to wait until I was comfortable on the end results of my facial. The products used were gentle and I woke up this morning with glowing skin! I will be coming back to see Nicole! I feel more confident on how to move forward on my skin regimen.
Moving onto my husbands experience with Marcela. My husband is not the spa kind of a guy but he was excited for the arnica deep tissue! He is an ultra runner, which means he run a lot (about 100 miles a week). He couldn’t believe how knowledgable Marcela was on how to apply pressure appropriately.
I dragged my husband to get a pedicure with me after our treatments. He worked with Nicole and I was with Janeen. My toes look amazing! Janeen was super sweet and made me feel extremely comfortable. My husband is actually wanting another pedicure he was so happy with Nicole. She gave him some great tips and was careful since she knows how important a runners feet are.
I know spas can be pricey but this place is worth every penny and I feel really fair on price (could be a lot higher in this town)…

Alchemie Spa made all things right after my poor experience. I really appreciated the manager, Jade, personally calling me to apologize and invite me back. My third experience was just as incredible as the first and I will definitely be a happy customer for a long time. Amazing products, superb ambiance, luxurious experience and A+ customer service = WIN!

By far the best facial I have ever received — even relative to fancy hotel spa ones. Nicole is great at what she does and had perfect recommendations for my regiment. Will be back regularly.

While it may be pricey, this place offers you an experience that you truly will not get anywhere else.
I got a spa pedicure with Crystal and it was absolutely amazing. She was relaxing, did a great job and talked to me about every step to let me know what she was doing and why it was great for my feet. My polish lasted over 30 days without chipping and I really appreciated that everything at the spa is organic, extremely clean and natural. They offer you complimentary tea or lemon water and they are very knowledgeable about all of the products they sell.
I will definitely return, and recommend this spa to all of my friends in the area.

Alchemie is beautiful, chic and accomodating. They validate parking and are located right on Main Street.
I went to Alchemie for the first time a couple weeks ago. I have always gone to traditional spas in LA but wanted something that was 100% organic.
My aesthetician was so sweet and she shared great knowledge. The people that work here have great vibes and seem to really care about your experience.
Update*- After my second facial at Alchemie I purchased the skincare products my aesthetician said would be game changers. After a week of use I have noticed a great change in my skin.

After my 1-​star review, the owner of Alchemie kindly called me to apologize for the massage I received and booked me a new appointment with a different therapist. The massage I had was amazing, and exactly what I wanted. She listened to me, didn’t get oil in my hair, and really worked on my problem areas — she even showed me some stretches I can do for long-​term relief. I’m giving this visit 4 stars — leaving one off for the price tag. A 60 min custom remedy massage here costs $ 110+tip. I could go elsewhere for the same quality and pay around $ 85 – 90. So, in a pinch, I’ll return and get a massage from Nicole again — but I think the price tag is somewhat hefty. Again, the spa was clean and the service was friendly.

After suffering from pain in my neck and lower back for several weeks, I visited Alchemie. In addition to their friendly receptionist, the serine and peaceful atmosphere helped me to relax before the session.
I had a shiatsu session with Fumiko. I’ve visited countless massage therapists before, but Fumiko’s massage was very different. Before I explained to her where the painful areas on my body were, she could already tell by just touching as if she was listening to my body. Her shiatsu was gentle yet very powerful and effective. After the session, my back pain was gone and I was able to turn my neck without pain. I highly recommend Fumiko!

I got a facial at alchemie for the first time today from Lindsey. She was amazing. This place rocks. Friendly receptionist and excellent staff all around. All organic products. I’ll definitely be back. Lindsey is amazing! I’m very happy with the results.

I just signed up for Unilocal just to write a glowing review for my amazing prenatal massage that I had today with Marcela. I received a gift card for a massage here and it was the best gift ever!
My entire experience with Alchemie was wonderful right from the start. The receptionist, Jess, was very professional and kind and helped answer all my questions. I received a confirmation email with details of the appointment and parking information. Parking was validated for free which was a great touch.
I haven’t had too many massages in the past (I’ve had 4), but I must say this was hands down by far the BEST massage I have ever received. I had the eco mama massage for 60 minutes and I wish it had never ended. It was seriously heaven on earth! Marcela was very kind and professional and explained what she was doing and which oils she was using. It is clear that Marcela loves her job and is passionate about what she does. It was so incredibly relaxing.
We are moving out of state next week, but if I ever find myself back in LA, I will definitely look to book another appointment with Marcela.

Incredibly accommodating and went out of their way to make me feel extremely comfortable and relaxed. I was stuck in traffic for over a hour and showed up late — they took me back with no questions asked and just wanted me to feel as relaxed as possible. Customer service was bar none– my scrub with Jaimie was incredible as was my massage with Nicole– they both did fabulous jobs at making me feel completely at ease and Nicole’s massage was one of the best I’ve had (including stops at 5 star hotels). Also, the free validated parking was such a perk on a crowded Sunday in Santa Monica– huge plus. Thanks to all!

This place was amazing. Hands down one of my favorite spa. The staff was so friendly and well educated in what they were doing. It really was a relaxing treat! It’s also a plus that this spa is in an awesome location!

Everything about this spa is perfect – it’s cool and modern with peerless staff
and great products. But, my very favorite thing about Alchemie is FUMIKO–
the very best masseuse/​healer I have ever visited. She is an expert Shiatsu
masseuse–
but her treatments are a spiritual, mental and physical tune up. It is incredible
how much better and happier I feel after even just one massage! She has
cured an injured rotator cuff, a sprained ankle, carpel tunnel and countless
sore muscles (not all at once thank goodness!), and ALL of them were much
improved after ONE visit!
I send everyone I love to her – and all of them agree – that she is the best
masseuse ever.
Go have the best massage of your life – I’ll bet you deserve it!

I had to give this place five stars because the service my husband and I received was amazing. The entrance of the spa is very clean and relaxing. I enjoyed the alkaline cucumber water but didn’t have an opportunity to try the various teas that were available. The spa has a large array of products for sale which is awesome if you need a gift or want to purchase health and beauty products that are natural. We did the couple’s massage and I highly recommend it since you get a 90-​min massage for under $ 300 and the therapists are great. We also did the organic facials and I really enjoyed the products used because I didn’t get any type of allergic reaction and the scent of the products were very pleasant and the aromas were natural.

Maricella (I hope I spelled it right!) gave me the best massage I had in a long time! She is amazing! I fell sleep during the amazing massage she gave me. This spa is a great place to spend your day off and get some relaxing time.

Love my experience here every time and the products! I come at least once per month especially for the pedicures and facials. Lots of wonderful natural, organic products, and the staff really take their time with you. I discovered this place when I was pregnant, looking for less «chemical» alternatives for my spa treatments and everyone took lots of time with me to discuss my concerns and treat me like a queen. I even asked to shower on a hot day before one of my treatments and they made a special arrangement for me so I’d feel comfortable before my treatment. Very serene atmosphere!

Worst «spa» experience of my life, and I have had MANY spa experiences all around the globe.
My friend purchased the signature retreat package for me as a gift, and although I have lived in Santa Monica for 6 years now, this would be my first time trying out Alchemie. I was not impressed.
I walked in for my «spa day», which said to allow for 4 hours of my day. I was so excited to be pampered. When I arrived, I was greeted by the girls at the desk who asked me sit in the waiting room and wait for my services to begin. A few moments later, I was taken to my first service, the pedicure.
I thought before anything, I would have been taken to a locker room, given a locker for my bag and a fuzzy robe and slippers. I had brought a change of clothes, items to shower with, different shoes, etc — just as I would for any spa service. But there are no lockers, no where to store my things for the day, and certainly no slippers.
I did in fact receive a robe only during the middle of my pedicure when the girl decided we may not want to pull my yoga pants over my toes as I undressed for my facial. But still, no slippers. I would be forced to remain in my dirty beach flip flops all day.
The girl doing my pedicure seemed less than thrilled to talk to me. She went though her routine, barely cracked a smile, and certainly was not interested in chatting with me although there was nothing else to do. No magazines, no engagement, just an uncomfortable energy. But maybe its because I told her that I usually get the $ 25 mani/​pedi specials that are available all around LA and really convenient. The look of disgust was priceless, but at least she informed me that I should AT LEAST ask for my own file if I was going to go to THOSE places.
Next, my facial. I was escorted as a I carried my heavy bag, in my flip flops to the facial room. My 30 minute-​way-​too-​short facial. Now this esthetician was super sweet and just lovely. But she immediately apologized because the facial was only 30 minutes. She seemed shocked they would even book a 30 min facial. Not enough time to really do much. So the facial was lovely, but I was definitely not satisfied.
After the facial, I again was escorted to another room across the hall for my body scrub. At least the esthetician was kind enough to carry my bag for me. I undressed and laid on the table for the scrub. The room was FREEZING. Why would you have the air conditioning on in the scrub room? I asked for extra blankets and for them to turn the air down. No heated blanket? I was so uncomfortable.
The scrub was lovely, however and I throughly enjoyed that. Applied by a new technician.
After the scrub, the girl instructed me to take my time and then shower off in the shower that was in the room. The shower was very open and the room was still cold and I just felt like I was in someone’s basement. It was wierd. So I rinsed off — no shower supplies like soap or a washcloth was provided. I found my robe and put it on, opened the door and peeked outside.
No one to help me, escort me anywhere, or tell me what was next. I stood by the door for a while, looked around, and then went walking. I saw a male masseuse in a room down the hall, in plain street clothes, on his phone. He looked up and asked if I was having a massage. I said yes and he waved me on over. So I went back, grabbed my bag again, put my flip flops back on and walked to his room. He finished his text message and closed the door to begin the service.
This massage was a bit bizarre. It was more of a physical therapy session. My shoulder had been bothering me though, so even thought it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting, I can’t complain about his service. My body certainly felt better once the therapy was finished. The only thing I will complain about is how he felt my stomach and began telling me how he has a machine in his other office that will make me look skinnier, the way the actresses like to look. And he said I could use an inch or two. I thanked him for the offer and let him know I was actually trying to put on a little weight and be comfortable with that for the last few months. He left me alone after that.
I’ve already spent too much valuable time of my day typing this, but now it’s done. Please stop emailing me to review you. I hope this helps someone. Spend your money elsewhere. I certainly will.

I’m quite a fan of Alechmie Spa! Ashley for massage and Lindsi for facials have been excellent. Well-​run, friendly management, and nicely appointed waiting space (they have tea) and therapy rooms. Also nice to support local businesses.
The price falls right in the middle: less costly than luxury brands like exhale, and more expensive than any of the Thai massage joints all over town. Alchemie Spa has my vote!

Today I got an email from the spa asking me to visit their Unilocal page so here I am. I actually wrote to them some time back instead of posting this on Unilocal,but since they never responded I decided to go ahead with a review. Here is what I wrote to them in response to a sale email I got:
Thanks for the email offer. You know, I never came back because I actually didn’t have a great experience… I didn’t want to Unilocal it because that just sucks for you guys, but I was bummed that for the amount I spent on my «organic» mani/​pedi, it wasn’t a better experience.
Here’s a little FYI, so perhaps you can make it better in the future–
I came in and was greeted warmly by whoever was at the desk. I was then instructed to pick out polish. When I went to the polish station, I noticed that none of the polishes I was looking at were low/​non toxic… Hmmm. I asked about it. Oh, she said, you have to pick from this small section here. (A very small section indeed, but ah well.) That would have been really good information to give someone who has come for an organic treatment.
Then the woman giving me my treatment, who was very late to start on me, rushed around to get set up in a very frantic way. I appreciated that she was trying to hurry, but it was certainly not very relaxing. She began my treatment and I noticed that she had skipped the «tea soak» I think it was. I asked about it. Oh, did you really want that? It always makes everyone itch or sting. Hmmm. Might have been nice to ask me before skipping it, yes? And if nobody likes it, why is that part of the treatment? Why hasn’t it been replaced with something else? No big deal. But then the rest of it was super disappointing as well. I have no idea what was supposed to make this an organic treatment, but as far as I could tell, none of the products used were organic, or even remotely low-​toxin. Plus soaking in a big, cheap plastic tub and wrapping feet in plastic wrap? (Google what’s in plastic wrap, it shouldn’t be touching anything!) I have had much better experiences elsewhere where they do not need to use any of these things. I read a few labels on the backs of products when she had gone to the back… Not good. Lotion looked and smelled like the dollar bin from CVS. It took me multiple days/​washes to get the awful perfume smell from my skin. What about good old organic coconut oil? Or any other of the millions of options out there? And who knows what was in all the unlabeled plastic squirt bottles.
Overall, who cares. I know one yucky mani/​pedi isn’t going to kill me. But I was disappointed. I had come to relax and detox after a really difficult surgery and instead just felt like I had added to my toxic load. You are advertising a high end service and in the end I would have been better off at any of the 20 dollar places on Main Street.
Upside, my infrared sauna was lovely.

If you want a beyond amazing massage, ask for Craig. I had a lot of knots and felt really stiff, when I walked out of my massage I felt like a new person.
