Dr. Leong is a good doctor herself, but the office staff and front desk and billing are honestly the worst. 100% not worth the headache… Manya, in billing, took 2 months to get a hold of… and claims she never received any of the messages or even faxes I sent when trying to track her down regarding incorrect bills. They even charge you for copies of your own lab results. Who does that?

Dr Leong was professional, however, her front desk «assistants» were nothing more than bullies.
I was a first time patient. Upon entering the reception and checking in, they insisted I leave my credit card «on file». I had never seen this conduct from a front desk and found it to be quite disturbing. They told me if I didn’t like it, I should leave. Not wanting to make an issue and wanting to see Dr. Leong, I acquiesced.
When I went to get my credit card back they refused. She wrote down my credit card information and made a point of showing me she had control of it. WOW.
The other «assistant» was staring at me for several minutes and when I looked back at her, she took offense and told me I «should leave» again.
In total, the office was the most offensive doctors visit I have ever experienced. I will not be returning.

Dr. Leong is great, but her office billing practices are awful. They take your credit card information and charge your credit card without your knowledge for services and mail you a receipt after the fact. I went for a regular annual visit and they coded it as a more extensive visit that my insurance does not cover even though all I had done during the visit was a pap. I had to pay out of pocket for the visit and they refused to change the coding even though I had to wait to schedule so that it would be covered. Really bad practice. Never been to an office that charges your credit card without first sending you a bill! I left a message because no one picks up the phone in billing. It took them almost a week to even return my call. I won’t ever be going back to that office again.

Dr. Leong is the best! I’m a nervous Nellie when it comes to waiting for biopsy results and surgery in general, but she was so calming, kind, informative, and patient I almost didn’t mind. Happily all is well, but for the first time since my OB/​GYN retired many years ago, I finally feel I’m in excellent hands whatever the future holds in store.

Dr. Leong is awesome! She was my first gyno and had done my first pap smear. She definitely took great care of me despite my nervousness during my first appointment. I highly, highly recommend her. She’s also very well informed and makes you feel comfortable to ask any questions. She’s definitely one of the best doctor’s I’ve had.

Dr. Leong is not only my OBGYN but is actually the woman who helped deliver me. It’s kind of crazy to think that she helped my mother give birth and out I came and now, 20ish years later, I’m actually going to her myself. Sadly, she no longer delivers babies.
Dr. Leong is professional and always listens to any concerns you have. She’s right to the point and frank about everything. She always helps me calm down (which is important for this sort of thing). Her office is clean and she is ALWAYS on time. I have never been called in late to an appointment. Everything is quick and I’m always in-​and-​out while feeling like I still got the attention I deserve.
Dr. Leong, in my opinion, is actually very easy to reach. Sometimes you have to wait 1 – 2 business days to get a hold of her (especially if you’re calling her on a Friday like I usually am), but usually she is very prompt in returning your call.

Dr. Leong is AMAZING!!! She performed an operation on me: almost invisible little scars, super quick recovery, fixed the problem! They scheduled the whole thing with all the specialists. i just showed up. Was at home in 4 hours. AMAZING! She also happens to be a very attentive and kind woman, and always seem to put my interests and preferences first. Informed me of every option I had, con and pros, really took time with me. I would never go to anyone else ever again, unless she moves to another state! And I have been cruising doctor after doctor, until I found Dr. Leong. The best!!!

I love her; however, it’s nearly impossible to contact her as there is no direct communication line to her, the NP or nurse. It’s easy to make an appointment but if you need a question answered, prescription/​prescription refill, etc be prepared to wait for a response for at least 2 business days

I still love Dr. Leong herself, but when I had to transfer to another provider because I was pregnant, dealing with her office was an ordeal. The worst of it was when I spent the week before Christmas sleuthing to figure out which lab they had used to run a test so I could get another doctor’s office the test results they were supposed to send before going on vacation. Dr. Leung’s now closed office had sent results of the test… but they were the results of a previous test that were over a year old. I spent several hours I didn’t have calling around to every lab that the new doctor’s office could think of. This was complicated by the fact that these labs are not supposed to give this information to anyone but Dr. Leong’s office– not even the patient themselves. Fortunately, I did finally find the right lab and I was able to convince them to send my new doctor’s office the information they needed, but it was a lot of needless stress and time wasted for what should have been a very simple sharing of information.

Just had to find a new OB/​GYN as mine is retiring and I chose Dr, Leong due to the fact that her practice accepts my insurance and her reviews were good. I was really impressed that I could get in for an appointment within a couple of days (awesome) and then I met Dr. Leong. Know that I had an amazing doctor for more than 15 years and thought I couldn’t find another I liked so much. Dr. Leong blew me away. she obviously studied my file, she is incredible personable and immediately puts you at ease. She is knowlagealbe, energetic and I feel so lucky to have her as my doctor. Highly recommend her.
The office staff were all great too. The office could use a little style refresh but the staff and doctor are great.

I visited Dr. Leong for the first time around the beginning of the year after finding her on Unilocal.She had so many good reviews so thought I’d give her a try. I came in for my annual exam and she took the time to find out about my medical history and answered all my questions. She was very personable and I had a good experience with her. When I went to check out the front desk lady charged me for an office co-​pay even though I insisted a co-​pay was not applicable in this case since it was preventative. She still made me pay the co – pay saying I got more services and after the insurance billing for my visit was completed, my insurance company told me that I’d probably receive my co-​pay refund from Dr. Leong’s office. Unfortunately months passed and my refund never came so I had to call the office (which was difficult since they have a long period of time in the afternoon where the office is closed) and finally got through to a billing person who said she’d refund me.

Absolutely horrible. I’ve lived in California for 20 years, and I am a woman, and I’VE NEVER HAD SUCH A HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE AT A DOCTOR’S OFFICE DURING THE PAST 20 YEARS. The office/​staff is VERY unprofessional and rude, I was even personally insulted there… the offices are not very clean even. The office tried to railroad me into using my credit card even though I had insurance. They refused to verify my insurance with Blue Cross/​Blue Shield. They claimed they did not have internet connection in the office and never will. Office assistants are rude, unhelpful, made me drive to the office from another part of town twice because a piece of paperwork they needed had to be printed versus emailed (they claimed they did not have email in the office). The MD is unavailable months in advance, and when she is she does not care to take time with the patient. I walked out… Will never come back again and never recommend this office to any woman. Oh, they take your credit card info upfront (even with insurance). The office people take 2.5 hour lunch breaks and are rarely available. BE WARNED! I of course chose an MD who is more personable, and an office that is more women-​people friendly. Shocked at the positive reviews below. The only other things I can say is that there is another review below where a patient says «she tried to deal with BBB and even they gave up; and that «this place should be shut down or burned down…» Unfortunately, and I don’t say that lightly — I agree… One has to be very careful when it comes to women’s health. Be WARNED about this office.

I have been going to Dr. Leong for 3 years. Initially she was great, and while I still believe her to be a skilled doctor, the time and availability she currently gives is ridiculous. You see her for the exam, and that is it. I had an exam that came back irregular, and an office assistant called me to let me know. I called back, and their hours are absolutely ridiculous. They’re open from 9 – 5 with a 2.5 hour lunch hour, and in my experience, don’t pick up the phone until 915 and stop at 445. After numerous attempts and calling back to hear what was wrong with me, I was unable to reach Dr. Leong and the assistant was unable to explain things to my satisfaction. I am young, and have had no health problems, telling someone they have an irregular result freaks you out, and you want to know what is happening with you. This combined withe the fact that I was overcharged $ 200 dollars when they miscoded an exam that was covered fully under my insurance, has forced me to take my business elsewhere. The lack of availability is insane, as is the lack of helpfulness and flexibility with the office staff, and rigidness with lack of communication. Would having an email address kill anyone? What is the point of having an office be available to take any calls or voicemails for 5 hours a day?

Dr. Leong has been my doctor for over 20 years. The office is relaxed, clean efficient. When a doctor tells you to call her by her first name, she’s pretty down-​to-​earth. I’ve called with concerns and Dr. Leong called me back pretty quickly in the middle of the day.
Dr. Leong is almost always on time which is unheard of but true. Luckily, I mostly go just for an annual but when I’ve had an «urgent» issue, they have scheduled me in the same day. The front desk women have been nothing but nice to me in over 20 years. No complaints from me.

I went to see Dr. Alison Leong for the first time today for an annual check-​up and I was extremely impressed with her.
First, I was actually taken into my appointment 5 minutes early, which was so refreshing right off the bat. Then, like others have commented, she sat down with me in her office to discuss where I am in life, details about my family and relationship, any concerns I have, etc. This was such a nice way to start my first appointment and I truly appreciated it. The check-​up itself took all of 5 minutes, she wrote me a new prescription, and I was back to my day. All in all this appointment took 30 minutes — when many times they take up to 2 hours with all of the waiting — and it was the best first OBGYN appt I’ve ever had.
I highly recommend Dr. Leong — she is super personable, professional, efficient and makes her patients feel like she truly cares about them.

My first visit was great. She sat down with me in her office and went through my medical history but I’ve been back multiple times over the past two years and have been increasingly discontent. My last few visits have been incredibly short with her. I’m talking 5 minutes max and that includes the time it takes to perform an exam. I was not asked about any other symptoms I was experiencing, she did not ask if I had any questions before she left the room, and when my results came back with bad news, an assistant who had no knowledge of the condition and could not answer any questions delivered the news via phone. Lastly, the receptionist hours are ridiculous. Actually reaching someone in the office is a bit of a trial.
I am looking for a doctor who will consider a patient as a whole, not a part. Take the time to discuss the reasons for the visit and potential results of a test, be available to discuss test results and answer questions about treatment and the medicine prescribed.

WONDERFUL! Dr. Leong is a doctor who is extremely caring, professional, highly knowledgeable and an asset to her field. I am middle-​aged, new to Los Angeles but have travelled extensively and have visited many a Gyno in my time. Dr. Leong is exceptional. Never has anyone thought to put a blanket in the examination room, that was caring, thank you! Most doctors will not sit down with you and say, «Let’s talk about where you are in your life and how I can help», that was thoughtful, thank you! Had a question about my medication, placed a call to her office and boom, an immediate return call with the information I requested. That was diligent and appreciated, thank you!
In a city of spoiled, selfish, unfriendly and unhappy people, meeting Doctor Leong was a blessing.

I’m not sure how I came across Dr. Leong, but it was probably around 1995 and onlyt because she was in my plan.
That said, she is the best, and most wonderful gyno I’ve EVER been to! From the aesthetics of the office [which is pink and has feminine touches throughout, and is peppered with baby photos from recent mothers] she is so warm, approachable and pro-​woman. She takes her time and is always happy to explain and/​or see what’s going on in your life. She really listens…
I’ve had other female doctors who’ve ended up feeling like a one-​night-​stand cause they worked so fast, but Alison is truly AWESOME. Should the day come that I want to spawn, I wouldn’t dream of having anyone else deliver my baby! :o)

I ended up having to have a laparoscopy and hystoscopy for endometriosis and was super nervous. It’s when they make incisions in your belly button and two in your pubic area and look around for any problems with a camera (all while your under anesthesia of course). Dr. Leong found the endo and removed it all as well as a tumor on my ovary (which turned out to be benign, Thank God!).
I usually get so sick waking up from surgery, but I actually felt great! Recovery was difficult but that was expected.
After years of doctors just telling me I had painful cramps and that I just needed to «live with it», Dr. Leong was the first to suggest surgery to really find out what was going on. My ultra sounds showed nothing, but they really don’t show everything. And while I ran the risk of the pain of surgery for nothing, it wasn’t. I’m glad that I decided to trust her with this and take the risk because now I finally know what has been going on and hopefully the removal of the endo will make my life easier in the future. She’s a truly great doctor!

This was my first time visiting Dr. Leong. I had a few minutes wait (only b/​c another lady begged her way into getting a walk-​in appt right before mine), but that’s nothing compared to my previous gyno — I used to wait for 30 – 40 mins!
Once I was called back, the dr sat me down in her office and we went over all my concerns and issues. Made me feel a lot more comfortable! She really seemed to be listening, and was approachable and warm.
Along with the refill for my birth control, she also gave me a sample pack and a discount card for the year — usually I have to ask for stuff like that.
I loved her personality, and she seemed very competent. Her staff also seemed pleasant and knew what they were doing (I had blood taken, and usually it’s an ordeal b/​c people can’t find my veins, but this nurse found it right away :))
