Bowlmor Santa Monica

Didn’t get a chance to see prices, because we came here as part of a small party, but we were really impressed. Cool set up, with fun music in the background, videos to keep you occupied, and a bar for drinks if you want them. Looks like a great spot for birthday parties for kids!

Just had my birthday party this past weekend at the newly renovated Santa Monica bowling alley. The friendly staff was very accommodating and Took care of our large group of derelicts. Jasmine and India were just great… They served us with a smile and made sure that we had a great time!
The food selection has dramatically improved since the change of ownership. Appetizers and entrées that are more impressive than any bowling alley I have ever been to. Great selection of beer and wine for the ladies. My only suggestion would be to have a second bartender since the kind man behind the bar seemed overwhelmed at times
We will definitely be making another trip back soon!

I have been bringing my children to this location for many years to bowl and play video games. Many birthday parties and Saturday morning all you can bowl activities. Two nights ago my son and his friend went to the alley to bowl a few games and have dinner. After bowling a few games and ordering food, they were asked to move to a different lane to accommodate a larger party. They did so and also asked for their check. After paying their bill they had to wait and wait and wait to receive their change. When they asked the waiter for the change, another 20 minutes went by. When they asked for a manager to request the change and to make a complaint about the service, they were lectured by the manager that it was not the fault of the server because it was going to take them 20 minutes to bowl a 10 frame game anyway. When I arrived, the manager tried to give me this same explanation and belittled my son and his friend showing no respect for either them or me. There are no closer bowling alleys to my home but I will happily drive out of my way to never spend another dime in that place. And that’s too bad because the remodel looks great. Lousy attitude and poor customer service does overcome a beautiful locale.

This bowling alley is the WORST bowling alley I’ve ever been to. The food is disgusting and the service is horrible. I was with a friend and they ordered nachos and the garlic fries; I ordered the chicken wrap. When they brought it out, it did not look pleasant at all. The nachos were drenched in sour cream which tasted like shit and the cheese was not even real cheese; it tasted like the spray on cheese that you get at Walmart. They brought out the garlic fries and it was covered in garlic as well as rock hard parmesan cheese. The chicken on the wrap tasted like McDonald’s rubber chicken nuggets. On top of that, I payed for the food which was way too over priced and I DIDNT GET MY MONEY BACK! I asked the waitress and she said she’d get it but 20 minutes passed by and I still did not have my money. I spoke to the manager and he was INCREDIBLY RUDE. He basically dismissed me and while I was complaining to him about the service, he COMPLETELY IGNORED ME and WALKED AWAY. He did not take into consideration what I was complaining about because he was a rude, ignorant, immature imbecile. Overall, the servants as well as the manager were rude and unfriendly. The chefs are awful cooks and I would never go to this place again.

This place is cool… It’s a bit of a party zone with loud music and low lights. The systems mess up sometimes but the employees are quick to fix the issue… Prices are ok, and you can print your scores at the end!

Played three games for two people, three beers each, we had to switch lanes because of malfunctions and they lost my personal ball for 15 minutes after our last game. Total for the evening– $ 130. Added one star because they apologized and gave us a whole $ 10 off our next visit… If there is a next visit.

Had a great time at bowlmor. If you get to choose a lane, don’t pick lane 24, It’s haunted. We had decent nachos, but didn’t finish the inside because they got soggy. If you like tequila, this won’t be your location for a first date. If you want a funky cocktail with a crazy name, this is your spot. If you see a girl named talk nerdy to me, please help her. If you see someone wearing a banana hammock, he is harmless but really good at bowling. Overall experience was ok, the company was better.

How is this place still in business? It’s like a 70s theme in the place, the only music that was played was pop music… we ordered fries & buffalo wings which were not good at all. The waitress brought our food with no napkins or any kind of dipping sauce, really??? According to my friend this place was remodeled. Not good at all, smh. I was over the place after walking in and after the food… I think this place is probably more appropriate for kids/​teenagers than a place for grown adults.

OMG! I don’t know when they remodeled this place… but I LOVE it. On a Monday night they are open until 1AM. How amazing is that? A full restaurant menu… great video games… and huge video monitors playing great video while you bowl.
When did bowling get cool again? NOW! Great date place btw.

When going out on a date the last thing I’m expecting to spend is 120.00 at a bowling alley for 90 mins.
Their pricing blew my f***ing wig back man!
I couldn’t turn back after I suggested coming to this damn place after attending a Cirque Du Soleil show not to mention it was our FIRST DATE.

This place has prime location because it’s probably the only bowling alley in the area. They also did some renovations since the last time I came and have cosmic bowling which is pretty fun. But what they really need to work on is their service.
My coworkers and I planned on coming here for a gathering of 10 people. Their impressive website prompted us to call and make reservations. We called twice and left voice mails. No one ever returned our phone call. Do you want to make money or what? The 3^rd time, some one finally picked up and was able to assist us.
We reserved 2 lanes for 2hours, and during the first 15 mins of our time there, our lanes were dysfunctional. The balls wouldn’t come back. We pressed the bell for assistance, and no one came. I eventually had to flag down a worker to tell them the issue. All she told me was to be patient, someone will work on it. Well… how long is that going to take? We’re on the clock here.
We paid about $ 800 to reserve the lanes, food and drinks. The least they can do is having working lanes and tell us that it’s being worked on so that we’re not standing around wondering what’s going on.
Asides from the poor service. My coworkers and I had a great time here!

Threw a birthday party for my fiancé here and it absolutely exceeded my expectations. We had a wonderful time and the customer service was fantastic.
If you’re going here, my suggestion is to become a member. they have discounts, deals, etc. if you do that. My second suggestion is that if you’re going with a group larger than 5, make it a party. It’s about the same price as just paying for 2 hours of bowling, plus you get Pizza, soda, and a server.
Notably: whatever price you anticipate, add about $ 40 booking fee and an $ 21% gratuity. Overall it ended up being about $ 31 per person instead of $ 23. But the music was great, wide selection of bowling, TV’s everywhere showing the game, and a fantastic staff. I’m a fan!

HORRIBLE PLACE. Honestly its the worst bowling place ever. The lanes are so dry and the place is pretty small. I do NOT recommend!

Decent bowling and sports games. However, the bar tenders make weak mixed drinks (stick to beer) and the women’s restroom is DISGUSTING.

Get your bowling shoes on and get ready to have a fun time with whoever you go with! One main tip is to make sure you & your party bring socks to that way you don’t have to pay extra for socks at the alley.

Fun place to bring a group of people. Every lane had a server who brought out food and drinks. Bowling at this location is a little pricey but what do you expect you are in LA. Everything is more expensive. Front desk staff were a little rude and didn’t know exactly what they were doing but our server was great!

Not a fan of the chichi renovations. Though they made the interior nicer looking, they somehow depreciated the lanes and made the acoustics terrible (hard to hear someone sitting two feet away from you).

Boyfriend and I came on a Saturday. For 3 games, 2 people was $ 69. This was very pricey and the lanes were VERY dry. When speaking with the staff, they informed us that the lanes are only oiled twice a week. For the high price paid the lanes should be properly cared for. That being said the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was fun. Would we come back? No.

I have been bowling here a couple of times and it was not a problem. The first time I was here it was for a friends’ get together. The second time it was for a company party. The staff was genuine, bartenders and drinks well poured, and the lanes were nice and clean.
If I am ever in Santa Monica, I will try to bowl here.

It’s remodeled nicely & we all had a lot of fun, but we were also all pretty wasted too. My Co-​workers and I decided to celebrate our holiday party here. My complaint is that the front desk ladies were rude and unpleasant to our group. Particularly one lady, was talking to my boss like she was a moron. Considering my boss got her Dr. Degree in her 20s, she’s far from a moron. I stated to the same rude lady, I have my own bowling shoes, she replied so obnoxiously. «Are they certified bowling shoes?» No B! I made them myself. She could of just asked to see them, if she needed verification. I know the difference between bowling shoes and regular shoes. Usually you own your own bowling shoes, if you’ve ever been on a bowling league. As I went to leave with another girl, I heard from the front desk, you need to pay your bill. I replied rudely back, we paid before we got our lane. She asked what lane, I answered lane 21. She doesn’t apologize, she says, oh okay. Wow! Great service. Their lucky I came with my work and had to be somewhat polite. I gave an extra star because the pizza was bomb.

really fun, and clean. I would come again but Shatto Lanes in Ktown is cheaper, and just as clean. It’s worth the trip to visit both though.
The workers here are friendly and courteous.

Don’t really like how they changed the whole vibe of the place. It went from a family and young teenager years and couple PBA player’s practiced in the day and adults at night to a 16+ place. The prices are way more expensive then the previous bowling company that used to be there for many years.
A game of bowling price there now is 2 – 3 games at the previous place. And the whole vibe of bowling doesn’t seem the same. Prices need to come down some.
Food is very limited in terms of selection and what types of foods. They have food for me there. But if you eat that, that or that type of food you will be out of luck. And some people may be upset with that.

I actually enjoyed this place and had a lot of fun!
I came here for a coworker’s birthday and I had no expectations at all. I was pleasantly surprised.
The inside is HUGE compared to how little it looks on the outside. A ton of lanes and space to hang out. I like that they have cosmic bowling — it’s a nostalgic feeling of being in high school and going with friends. Except now we are adults and have way more fun!
There is an actual bar inside with cheap drinks too. I ordered a pizza and I loved it.
Overall, we had a lot of fun here and I would totally come back again!

+3 stars for: location, parking lot, photo booth, cleanliness
–2 stars for: lack of AC
I believe this place has been recently renovated or newly taken over. We had a ton of fun on a Saturday afternoon — a very HOT Saturday afternoon, I might add. The AC must not have been working, but they did have ceiling fans.
Anyway we had a good time bowling — clean shoes, good selection of bowling balls, and nice booths to hang out in. Looked like there was a full bar, but seeing how it was afternoon and there were kiddos hanging around, I opted for good olé H2O.
The screens were easy to use and everything worked properly. Which was magical — I’ve been in bowling alleys before where every 5 mins you have to holler at the staff. They even had fun themes to add to your displays. Naturally, we chose Halloween.
Plus, good tunes, music videos, and overall nice vibe. Looks like there are specials for off-​peak days/​times. I wonder what it’s like at night. Must go back and get a cocktail, too.
Overall, it was good, clean, fun for a Saturday afternoon.

This is a fantastic bowling alley!!! Each lane has a flat screen tv… The music sounds great and the lights create a great atmosphere for having a party!!!
The service was great and this was a wonderful experience all around! Good food, great friends, and lots of fun!!!

Unbelievable, I mean unbelievable loud– I’m talking ear damagingly loud. Much louder than any nightclub in LA, NY or Amsterdam. With that said — the music is good, the music videos are on top of the pins, everything is clean and efficient.
Very very very expensive but lots of offers via email.

I recently took my daughter and her friends to Bowlmor Santa Monica for my daughter’s birthday. Because we were a group of 8 and I did not want to have to wait for a lane, I called Bowlmor a few days ahead of time to make a reservation. I left a message and voicemail back from Blanca. Although she left her direct number in the message, I tried calling her back several times but she never returned my calls after that.
Regardless, we went ahead with the plan and were pleasantly surprised that there was now wait. We got two lanes right away and the girls had a wonderful time.
I wish I remembered our server’s name because she was very pleasant. She brought food and drinks out quickly. I had to apologize because the girls made a mess, but she was very cool about the mess that the girls were making and totally understood how groups of kids can be.
The pizza was pretty good, the décor was great and the experience as a whole was fun! Plus the discounted rates after 6pm on Sundays make it even better!
Only disappointment was the cleanliness of the bathrooms. This is why I am giving them 3 stars instead of 4.

I had mixed feelings about the event I went to at Bowlmor. It was a fun environment and they had a decent meal plan but they weren’t as attentive as I would have liked. They were always there to provide the alcohol but when it came to water, I had to grab the pitcher and take it to the bartender twice! They also brought an entire spread of spinach dip and nothing to use to grab it other than a veggie platter. While i think that may have made it a bit healthier (debatable), it took over an hour to bring some chips or pita to help with it. They also didn’t say how many times we would be getting refills on the chicken so everyone was freaked out about taking too many or too little. More communication would have been appreciated. They also accidentally shut off our lanes with 5 minutes to go without warning so we spent however much time trying to get it back on.
What it comes down to is I would probably go back for an event but I wouldn’t throw one here.

Nice concept– this is supposed to be a hip and «cool» hangout/​date spot but the wait times and pricing is anything but cool.
Let’s start with the good. If you’re in high school or college or enjoying bars and clubs in general, you’ll love the vibe because the music (r&b, club music) is blasted super loud and there’s a full bar and plenty of seating. Drinks were pretty good– good job bartender! Bowling lanes are pretty with cool light effects.
The not so good. First of all it’s super crowded and upon entering we had to sign our name and was then told we had to wait 1.5 hrs to play! Outrageous but we got some drinks and chilled while we waited.
Once it was our turn, however, I realized that they CHARGE PER GAME not per hour! This is ridiculous as each game is approx 15 min… And the prices were not cheap. We came on Friday night and paid $ 15 each per game including shoe rental (3 games so approx. $ 90 total!). Most other places I’ve been to charge by the hour which is a lot more reasonable. I will probably not come back unless they change the pricing. Plus the balls and shoes were not the best quality. :(
Population on a Friday night was what seemed to be everyone from the local high school.
Two stars for the pretty lighting and ease of parking but not much else to say other than that. My main gripe is that they charge per game instead of per hour.
