Citron

I lived in Malibu for 50 years, and the last 8 in Seattle. In the last 8 years I bought more Citron Santa Monica than ever before. I love everything about this line of clothing. Recently I bought something online and when it arrived it was quite different. For any other business I would deduct several stars from my rating, but I called Citron and was lucky enough to get Pam. She was so helpful, and wonderful to work with. She told me to mail back the item for a refund, and in the future I could call her to get exactly what I was looking for. This is the customer service I have always received at Citron. Don’t hesitate to shop online, or visit their amazing store. I won’t hesitate to do more business with them in the future.

Zero stars would be better. Snobby small woman with black glasses with horrid customer service skills did not even let me complete a request for an EXCHANGE of a full price item. She saw same sale items in the bag I was carrying and went ballistic repeating…“I will not exchange any sale items”… no other conversation was possible. I should have known not to shop there as the day I bought the 300.00 worth of shirts she said she was «out of it». Now I know that to be true. What unreal horrible customer treatment. I used to spend quite a bit there but no more. It is unreal even on Montana street that this level of service is allowed and tolerated. Stay away unless you want the worst service ever in your life!

When I paid for two shirts for 50 percent off, the shop lady, who left the shop twice while I was there, said, «You’ve saved so much money, you can go have your nails redone.» I gathered my credit card up with my chipping green nails and she said, «That was mean, wasn’t it?»

100 000% RUDE RUDE RUDE! Thanks PAM shouldn’t assume that just because I’m not a grandmother that I don’t have a very large family.

Wonderful selection of both regular priced and sale items. This is my go-​to store for clothing which will work for many occasions. I have wedding outfits, work clothing, date clothing — it’s perfect. Highly recommend!

We just celebrated our anniversary at Café Montana and were strolling along, when hubs noticed Citron! Didn’t know this store existed! Usually I buy Citron items from Nordstrom Arcadia and only for special occasions. While trying on several blouses, Pam was super helpful and very pleasant, very unlike prior comments. I’ll return with hubs in tow as my best critic.

Appalling customer service. I popped in yesterday in a hurry to buy some things as a gift, and purchases over 100.00 of items. There are two sales ladies whom i see at this shop, one a tall blond, she is always lovely, very very nice and helpful. The other and older small woman with short hair. The latter was at the register checking me out, she started putting my things into a white plastic bag, like the grocery store kind, to which i asked for a normal citron bag as this was meant to be a gift for someone, she replied that sale items don’t get nice Citron bags. This is not reasonable as far as i am concerned and definitely was not an option for me so i did get just a little exasperated and told her that i will pay for a Citron bag as it was a gift. The thing is if you are a pricy brand name store, sale or no sale, all your customers should be treated the same and walk out feeling like valued customers and not like some second rate shopper who gets their purchases shoved into a trash bag. So i think an exasperated sigh was warranted on my part. Right as i told her that i will PAY for a citron bag, she got rude and schooled me. «All you gota do is ask, you don’t have to get nasty» NASTY? i wasn’t nasty at all. i said «i wasn’t nasty i just said i will pay for one» «No you got nasty and blah blah blah blah» she went on accusing me of things for a minute while shoving my things into a Citron bag with no tissue etc, in a wrinkled up ball. I didn’t want to get into it, confrontation is not my style at all, especially over what? Nothing. So here is the thing sales lady, whatever my inflection, it is my right to emote and have an inflection, none of my words were the slightest bit short or inappropriate or rude, i just said i WILL pay for one, which is perfectly reasonable, and you haven’t neither the right, nor the place to accuse me of anything or to berate my behavior, I am not the type who needs my butt kissed by the salespeople, in fact i treat everyone with equal respect, and you were out of line and if that is your general manner of communication with ADULT customers you have no business being in customer service. Great Store — Great Merchandise — Wonderful Staff

I have been shopping at Citron for 30 years which should give you some idea of how their style transcends age and shape. I would say at least 40% of my wardrobe is Citron and I always get compliments on their pieces. Plus, they have great sales! It’s true, their salespeople can be somewhat schizo — charming one time, fierce the next, but it’s a storm I can weather for the beautiful drag.

I love this store! It’s one of the two places I buy my clothes. Their clothes tend to be comfortable, attractive, and a little exotic. But also a bit pricy. Their sales are great!

This is one of my favorite stores. I fly in to shop here. The fabric has a great hand and they mail fabric samples seasonally. It is worth the price. Designs are for the over 30 set in my opinion, the asian flair is great the silks in layers, velvets, burn out patterns … beautiful designs!
I noticed a change in store policy this trip, shoppers may not use restrooms (if trying on items for a couple hours rthis can be inconvenient). I left with less than I would have purcased otherwise, this policy cost them money. I was also told they now only ship when they have several packages not the day you purchase, since they charge to ship you should not have to wait.
I love the product but not the new store policy so the clothing gets five stars the in store experience as of last week gets three for a total of 4 stars. Hopefully they will get over what in store event caused this shift and get back to the high level customer service I have experienced in the past.
I look forward to getting my package sometime next week.

I really love this lilttle shop. Most of their items are for mature women, but I have found some cute tops here. Most of their clothing is «Asian inspried», which I really love. It’ a great place to shop when you are out and about on Montana Ave., and they have many Asian décor itmes scattered about. They are pricey, and the staff can have a bit of an attitute, but they are knowledgable and helpful

Their clothing is elegant & looks beautiful on my petite little mom. I was looking forward to taking her here shopping as a mother’s day treat. Unfortunately, mom was sick & needed their restroom. To give credit where credit is due unlike most merchants in Santa Monica they actually let her use the restroom. She was in there quite awhile, so I went back to check on her. As she pokes her head out, she sees a piece in the backroom she likes (hanging right outside the bathroom door) but wants it in a slightly different cut. I start to take it on the floor to ask for help and the saleswoman tells me off in THE rudest fashion for being in the back room. Where the bathroom is. Let me add, we had just come from lunch at Bouchon and were dressed to the nines, mom in head to toe Citron. I didn’t exactly look like a grubby shop lifter either. A few minutes later, clerk comes back and asks me if my mom is ok, I say «no, she’s ill». The woman says, again VERY rudely, «I know that. I want to know if she’s ok back there alone.». Seriously? Right after you told me off for being back there, and *gasp* shopping while I was checking on my sick mom? Even when I proceeded to spend $ 250 on items for my mother, I didn’t get a thank you.
I love your clothes and thank you for letting my sick mom use your restroom. But sales lady, you’ve got your head shoved so far up your ass I’m surprised you make it into work at all.
Next time I treat Mom to Citron, we’ll be shopping elsewhere.
