CoLoft

This space is nice and the people I met were nice. I enjoyed a free day and decided to become a member. The only thing they ask for besides a copy of your drivers license is your LinkedIn profile address. My first day as a member I was a victim of a MTM man in the middle cyber attack. I struggled to send and receive a handful of emails using a web app called Mailinator which has always been extremely reliable in my experience. For most of the morning and afternoon I was completely puzzled as to why my emails were getting to me 10 min late– every single one which I send out individually was delayed by 10, 15, or 30 min late. Every where else including my home these emails are sent and received instantly. Not there. To make a long story short, and speaking with some security experts, I was told that somebody there was intercepting all my communication, and was free to explore all of the web apps etc that I had open on my computer. I’m a new and naïve entrepreneur and I want to help others by saying invest in VPN protection at these coworking spaces!!! I went back to speak with the manager, very nice girl, and she had no clue what VPN was. Of course nobody told me about VPN but I think if you’re running a coworking space that you should know something about protecting their clients from hackers. I hope the owner of coloft reads this review and looks into better security or perhaps look into who is running IT at coloft.

Overall good experience. Nice folks. Had a seminar there for a Google event. Set up was exactly what I needed.

I’ve been curious about collaborative work spaces and I’ve had an eye on Coloft for a few years now. I live in Calabasas so it doesn’t quite make sense to commute down this way everyday but after surfing Manhattan beach I wanted to get some work done and I wanted to meet a buddy for happy hour so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to try this out.
Wow am I impressed! This place is so great for so many reasons. Here are a few:
1. This space inspires work. The natural light, fun color scheme, productive setup and hard working folks colofting all around you makes you want to work better.
2. The Coloft staff want you to succeed. Bex was super helpful and I was blow away with how thorough they are with all the little details. For example, I didn’t have a charger (As aforementioned, surfing was the priority so I didn’t think ahead about work needs) but they had a new macbook charger I could borrow. WHO DOES THAT? I was very impressed.
3. Colofting is a real. I witnessed people exchanging ideas and clearly there was a great work synergy of collaboration and shared vision for a successful work place.
If I lived closer I would definitely be a monthly member. Do yourself a favor and check this thing out.

Can’t believe it’s been 3 years since I wrote that first review. Wow.
Because of my experience at CoLoft, I:
— Set up and incorporated my own small business
— Met great people in different industries and even gained a couple of clients
— Was able to get over my fear of working for myself and grew to love it
I ended up becoming a full-​time desk member at CoLoft and enjoyed every minute of it. Met some great-​great people and made a few friends.

Probably the best co-​working location in Silicone Beach.

I have been going to CoLoft for tech meetings and to work here (occasionally)…for the last few years. It is so great that they have expanded their space!!! I love this environment because it seems like all of the techies here are very friendly and professional. Truly, it is absolutely a great place to network for projects… and share ideas and knowledge.
The owners are very friendly and accommodating They set the right vibe for this place.

Well they might have more space now, but like the other person said it is very «show» and «talk out loud». I went in again, and for the price I prefer the telemarketing style workstations and beach attire at the workdesks on broadway.

Coloft doubled in size!!!

I love working here. I’ve only been here twice but I like the environment a lot. The coffee and animal crackers really makes it a 5 star communal working space to me.
I would considering bringing earphones because not everyone takes their phone calls outside. Also, dress to impress a little bit because there’s some serious eye candy here ;)

I just got off the phone with Bex who was as unhelpful as you can imagine. Maybe CoLoft isn’t for me but we recently finished a conference using their space and I fell in love with LA. Bex not only could not offer any insight into finding housing (she suggested Craigslist) but she was unwilling or knew of no one that would want to help me float a resume around. I wasn’t about to tell her I’ve worked as an engineer for 2 Fortune 100 companies and get opportunities all the time. Totally unhelpful and not what I was expecting.

Great work environment, great people, and solid wifi. Free coffee and animal crackers. More reasonably priced than other local co-​working spaces.

I was a CoLoft guest yesterday and quickly fell right at home. This shared space finds the perfect balance of being collaborative and open, but still private and productive. I always have concerns of the phone situation in coworking spaces but everyone was really respectful and understanding of others making and receiving calls.
The open floor plan encourages everyone to interact and I had some great conversation with the tech entrepreneur on the opposite side of my computer screen.
I’ve been debating joining a coworking space full time due to my travel schedule, but I will definitely returning to this spot even if it is on a drop in basis.

Only recently joined Coloft, but it’s one of the best investments I’ve ever made for my business as an hourly consultant.
With my typical routine of working from home, and bouncing around to coffee shops, I often struggle to get in 4 billable hours of work per day.
At Coloft, I’m magically able to concentrate, which is a revelation on it’s own. I’m finding that I’m regularly getting in 6 or 7 billable hours, or more.
It’s a comfortable environment, great setup, and nice and interesting people. Seems like it might be slightly pricier than other options, but I think it’s worth it due to the quality of the space, and clientele.
It’s like having a job without having to deal with annoying coworkers, or office politics… perfect!
Couldn’t recommend it more!

Coloft is the center of the universe!
I am here like, every day. Coloft is a wonderful community for meeting tech-​oriented folks and entrepreneurs. People are very collaborate and helpful, and there’s always wonderful events and happenings. You really won’t find find a co-​working space with a better vibe in the Silicon Beach area.

This place is awesome. If you are looking for a coworking space or a place to work around very interesting, motivated, enthusiastic entrepreneurs, than this is your place. Coloft has definitely played a huge part in changing the technology startup scene in Los Angeles, which has been a huge plus for Orange County (where I’m from) and San Diego.
Also, they often host great tech events and have amazing speakers from all over (Bay Area, Los Angeles, OC, Canada, Austin, etc.)!

While it might seem like the vibe at Coloft is techy, there’s definitely more Business folk than programmers, no question.
This co-​working space was the first one I’d ever been to. I’ve been to a few others since coming here and they are no where near as awesome. People are really open and I find myself having too many intellectual conversations (which isn’t a bad thing! A nice departure from where I was!).
If you have work that needs to be done and want to meet cool people, go to Coloft. It’ll be one of the best decisions you’ve ever made.

CoLoft is where you go when you work from home and don’t want to hole up in a coffee shop. The space is very cozy and warm, not too large. It’s very communal. While you can certainly rent workstations, there are many large desks for people to sit at and work.
The coffee is excellent and free! $ 35/​day if you drop in (includes wifi).
Here’s the thing, the vibe is very techie. Like hardcore techie. Ladies, if you fancy a programmer, come check this place out; you will find your man (this place is a serious sausage-​fest). I wasn’t exactly feeling the vibe here. But then again, I’m not techie…
Also, it got a wee loud in the afternoon. There is a small parking lot that is free.

If you’re tired of working out of a coffee shop, this is the place to be. If you’re tired of working in your office, where ever you might be working right now, the CoLoft is the place to be.
They have comfy Aeron chairs, the bandwidth is great, and your first visit is free.
I’ve hosted an event here, and have been to a coloft a few times. They are simply the best.

Thank God there is finally a flexible shared workspace option on the Westside.
As the manager of the LA MBA Workshop (
), I stopped by Coloft to check out how they stacked up to other office spaces I have been investigating in LA. The pictures on Unilocal do not do it justice. It is extremely airy and bright on the inside with a lot of wide open desk space. I like the open office environment but I would like to see a couple of more private spaces so that private phone calls can be made (perhaps small phone booths?). The owners also indicated that they are going to install private lockers which is a huge bonus as well for those who do not want to haul our personal stuff around.
I must note that the parking situation is good for Santa Monica, but may not be ideal for some. You can park for free in the back lot but then you have to move to street parking at 6 PM. Not a biggie as the meters go off in SM at 6 PM.
Also, as of today, Unilocal states the hours are only M-​F. They are open on Saturday as well and on Sunday by request.
The owners, Cameron and Avesta, were really accommodating. They spent more than a half hour showing me around and gauging my needs. I appreciated that. I will definitely be back for the free coffee and cookies. Nice work guys! Thanks.

This is the best place to CoWork in Santa Monica that I’ve found to date, and as a co organizer of JellyLA — an organization dedicated to coworking in LA, I’ve been to a lot.
It’s open with excellent natural lighting, complementary and abundant parking, great WiFi & amenities including fax, printer, scanner, shredder & 2 conference rooms, white boards, etc. However it doesn’t feel «corporate». It retains that excellent spirit of a
creative commons without being flighty or unproductive.
I can’t say enough how impressed I am with their initial roll out, look for good things from this space in the near future.

I stopped in on the grand opening and was really impressed with the space. They’ve done a fantastic job of creating an environment conducive to the coworking ethic. I stayed for a few hours, had some good coffee, and met a few new people. Oh, and I got some work done as well. I’ll be back for sure.
