Our Video & Film Conversion Process Integrates Digital Technology with Trained Archival Experts in Film!

Our transfer process is completely unique as we digitize all Videos and Films, upgrade picture and sound quality after which custom design your dvds, from the ground up. We digitally remaster via hardware and can create virtually any kind of digital video files required for hard drive or editing purposes.

All Videos are transffered with Time Base correction machines that stablizse videos with color and exposure corections.

We transfer every video format imaginable, from VHS, MINIDV, Hi8, Video 8, Digital 8, Vhs-​C, SVHS, Umatic, DVcam, Betacam SP, Betamax.

We also specialize in transfering your 8 mm Regular and Super 8 mm and 16 mm Film. Color and exposure correction is included, all films are extensively cleaned and lubricated. Films are scanned frame by frame at exactly 18fps!

Unlike Straight Transfers, where Film or Video is dubbed directly to dvd recorders, our process includes digitally remastering via Professionally hardware to virtually any Pro level file and thus authored with customed Designed DVDs from the ground up!

Earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Cinema & Film from Columbia University, Raymond joined the Motion Picture Industry in 1998. Having 12 Motion Picture Producing Credits under his belt and has worked with such Celebrities as Danny Devito, Nicholas Cage & Neve Champell to name a few.

Having Established Digital Video & Film Lab, Raymond has brought the finest elements from the Entertainment Industry and carved a niche to provide quality Video & Film Encoding to the Los Angeles Community.

As explained by Raymond, «While most companies provide Direct Dvd transfers from analogue video, our niche is to provide professional analog video encoding and custom Authored Designed DVDs at very affordable pricing, that bridges the gap between quality and consumers».

I am thrilled what the work Digital Video & Film Lab did for me, just go to «Janet Stegman Starring in HBO Here I Come!» or «Janet Stegman starting in Peter Pan» or «The Pirates of Penzance directed by Janet Stegman» on YouTube to see what excellent work these people do. I had them transfer my shows from VHS and even Beta to a format I could upload onto YouTube. They gave me plenty of personalized attention and made sure I was happy with everything, and in a short time I was easily able to upload my shoes onto YouTube for the whole world to see! And with excellent quality! Thank you Ray!!!

it seems I’m unable to delete my previous review, so I would like to update and amend it. The owner of Digital Video & Film Lab., LLC very kindly refunded my payment for the DVD’s and offered a substantial credit to try one more time to redo the DVD’s. Ray went out of his way to pick up the tapes and previously recorded DVD’s over the weekend at my home. Ray has been in contact with me by phone and by email reporting his findings. It appears the problem may be with my 10 year old DVD player and not the DVD’s themselves. When played on his own equipment, Ray is able to view the complete recording of each VHS tape. So, I will be purchasing a new DVD player this weekend and am offering my apologies to Ray for my previous negative review. He is a very good businessman and a gentlemen, who keeps his word. I would not hesitate to recommend him and his company to my friends.

Ray is the real deal. Picked up the phone himself on the 2nd ring, followed up when he got my tape, let me know when it was ready and even reminded me it was waiting for me when I couldn’t swing by when I thought I could. Oh yeah, he transferred it earlier than he said he originally could, so it was ready a day or two earlier than expected. And the prices are totally reasonable. Run, don’t walk!!!

Ray was amazing. I handed over precious videos of my kids growing up over the years and he returned them in the updated format. I needed them by a certain date and he made sure that I had them when we agreed. The product was great. I plan on using him again soon. Also the location was close by.

I had a great experience working with Ray. I work for a television show and a few of our writers had old 8 mm film reels that they wanted to incorporate into the show. The video files that we had made looked excellent. We are planning on using them in the show. Ray even offered to pick up and drop off the film reels from me. The images look better than I ever thought they could. He’s offered to walk me through a program that he uses to turn the images into a slide show that I can add music to. He’s great. Wow, what a great experience. Ray is not only knowledgeable and helpful but he is also a good guy who is fair and will work with you to make sure you are happy, make sure you get the best price. I called him first thing this morning (I found him from a Google search) and I was unsure what it was exactly I needed, he talked me through it and I felt immediately comfortable about going to him and not calling around to other places.
His staff are nice and helpful also, though I really felt like he was the expert in making sure everything was just perfect about my experience. I am very grateful for your help Ray! And I definitely plan to return with the rest of my many VHS tapes that I need to transfer to DVD and digital files.

2013 was a very difficult year for me, but Ray helped make it a little better with some quick, professional and compassionate service.
Basically, after my uncle passed in November, I assumed the task of cutting together a memorial vid for his services. My uncle meant the world to me and it was a tall order to try and distill him down to a series of still and moving images. Accordingly, I had to get a rush transfer of 8 mm and 16 mm reels done in time for the emotional day. Ray and his team made this happen for me, and they did so with great care and integrity.
In fact, Ray went out of his way to collect the reels, update me on his progress and hand deliver the files to me. And most importantly, the footage looked stellar. Thank you for going above and beyond on all of your work and assistance. You guys made a very difficult experience a little bit easier.
If possible, I’d give a 6 star rating.

I found this company thru Unilocal and I can see why everyone has given Ray great reviews. Plain and simple, Ray is awesome and I would most certainly work with him again.
I had a few 8 mm film reels that I wanted transferred over to DVD and from the start, Ray was very professional. I had the chance to speak with him over the phone and he asked the right questions in making sure I was getting what I needed for my project. He followed-​up via email and through the phone with estimates and the progress of the project. Whenever I had any questions, he was very good at responding and providing me with the needed and helpful answers.
The finished product was great and my siblings and I really enjoyed seeing those 8 mm films. It’s definitely a cherished item now and to have it in digital form is great. Price was very reasonable and payment process was extremely easy. I would highly recommend Ray for your transferring services. Professional, prompt and fantastic end product.

Ray goes above and beyond to take care of his clients!!!
I am an event planner and work with many directors, editors etc and had not had to look for someone until it was my daughter’s montage for her Bat Mitzvah. I researched on line and talked to Ray and gave him my tape library to transfer first. I then compiled what I wanted on the montage including video clips, print photos to scan and digital images. I didn’t realize that I had messed up when burning the digital images until the night before my daughter’s Bat Mitzvah! I emailed late that night and he responded early Saturday morning and we spent the day in and out of my service with my daughter, sending what to include and what to eliminate. Ray worked on a Saturday which he never does and drove the DVD to Hollywood from the valley to the venue where we were having the party by 6:30! It was truly an act of dedication to what he does and his desire to have happy clients!
The video was beautiful and a hit and my daughter and I and our whole family could not be happier!

As Jim G. and I are coming up on our 12 year anniversary (where has the time gone!!!) we figured it was time to take our wedding video and the negatives of our photos and get them converted to a digital format. It’s a scary prospect to share your only copy of such an important video with someone you don’t know. Jim found Digital Video Lab and I’m so glad!
Ray was so easy to work with; his schedule was very flexible and he even came to our home to pick up and drop off all our stuff. He was kind, prompt, and reasonably priced. Best of all, of course, is the quality of the conversions!
It can be eye-​opening to watch a video of yourself from 12 years ago; there were some cringes here and there, for sure. Ray did a great job, however. I would use him again for anything I need digitized. Think of him for some of the more old-​fashioned family members who may have a treasure trove of photos, videos, etc.
