Nothing fancy but it still hits the spot for old school Chinese food. Ben and Keng always have smiles to greet customers. Great lunch special value.

Tried this place because of all the Unilocal reviews and but was I disappointed. Being a 4 star you would think this place would be amazing but it wasn’t. A very fast food bland Chinese place. The price is cheap during their lunch special but overall this place is ok.

I ordered sweet and sour chicken and didn’t like the seasonings used. Not the typical kind you would get at other American Chinese places. The egg rolls are great though. Probably won’t return but I think it’s a good place. Just not for me.

One of the only Chinese places in Santa Monica. I ordered their crispy rice soup and one of their dinner plate specials. The crispy rice soup was okay except it had huge chunks of unappetizing looking chicken strips, to the point where I didn’t want to bite into it. The dinner plate came with a side of rice.

I gave this place five stars because I was warmly greeted in. The service here was exceptional! It’s a very small place, easy to miss! You’d easily pass it. The portion was decent for the price. It was very good food in my opinion and I’m very picky when it comes to Chinese food. Good thing we have Unilocal, which is how I found this place near my job. I recommend this place!

Dragon palace is a divey little place in Santa Monica with awesome takeout deals. I did take out for dinner and ordered the Kung Pao chicken and the Almond chicken to go. Each dish is served with white rice and a fortune cookie. The portion size was slightly small — don’t expect enough for leftovers! The best part was that both dishes totaled $ 13 which seems unreal for Chinese in Santa Monica. Both orders were saucy and flavorful but not spicy at all. Definitely not the best Chinese I’ve had before but as far as value for your money and convenience, it is a great, quick place to have in the neighborhood.

Didn’t get sick, was edible; but very underwhelming. Completely lacking flavor across 3 different dishes and even the rice was poor. Not a fan of Panda, but 30% cheaper and equal or better quality.

DELICIOUS is the least for this place. I had the Beef Chow Fun… WOW! Definitely coming back whenever I’m around the area! Didn’t give 5⁄5 because I think the place looks too old… but food quality is great!

Now I understand why this place gets good reviews. We finally gave this Chinese food place a try tonight since they have good reviews and the location is so close to us. We ordered beef noodle, pork fried rice, omelet and Chinese Veggie which came with white rice. The price were very reasonable, the noodle and fried rice weren’t oily which is a wow factor. I have to say that we like the food. And for a quick take out dinner, this would be our new to go place. The service was Great, they were very friendly. That is another season that we would go back. Overall, finally we found a Chinese food place close by, reasonable price and good service.

My friends and I placed an order for pick up last night. Sadly the food was not great, the noodles were half soft(cooked) and half hard(uncooked), the orange chicken was super soggy, the breading of the shrimp tempura was way too thick, it literally looked like bread, super weird. We also ordered hot and spicy chicken, not spicy at all. I see why the price was so low. I guess the only this they got right was the plain white rice. I really don’t know how Dragon Palace has 4 stars… hopefully they read this review and change things up, then I’ll recommend but not right now.

Walked in after a long flight. They have a good rating on Unilocal so why not. I was greeted by an amazing man that was super polite. We orders our food and it was amazing. I usually don’t have soup but we had the dinner special and the hot & sour soup was to die for. I am happy we stopped by and tried it. There shrimp chow main is now new favorite too.

The lunch special costs $ 6.00 and that includes tax. Maybe you didn’t hear me so I’ll say it louder: The Lunch Special Costs $ 6.00 and that Includes Tax. Look, you can’t beat that price on the Westside and the food is pretty good. I’ve been coming here for at least 15 years. If I remember correctly, it has gone up by about $ 0.50 in price that’s it. I usually get the almond chicken but everything I’ve tried has been good there. It’s not fancy but it’s good. The guys who run it are very nice and remember me no matter how long it’s been between visits. During lunch time 12 – 1:30, it’s gets crowded. Everybody who works nearby seems to stop in: Groups of mail carriers, utilities workers, nurses, you name it, frequent this spot for its good good for great lunch special prices. Give this place a chance. Best value $ 6 you’ll spend on lunch.

Best Chinese on the Westside. Very good happy hour and dinner specials. It can get pricey if your start ordering more than just a modest meal. Great service. I’d love if this place would do a buffet for lunch.

Dragon Palace is my favorite Chinese dive evaaarrr! Portions are good, price is still low. Just today, I ordered two lunch combos and got away for $ 12.00, before gratuity. Btw, both combos were for me, because Paleo is for suckers. Just kidding, it was my cheat day. Is the food delish? Absolutely. I’ve jumped around the menu and never had a bad dish. Chicken chow Mein, beef with broccoli, Kung Pao chicken, curry, egg rolls, various soup, fried rice… all good. Is it «authentic» Chinese food? Really?! You came to Santa Monica to find real Chinese food?!! You want authentic, go to Shanghai, or Chinatown in San Francisco, or my grandma’s house.

I really wanted to like Dragon palace. We ordered take out and the guy who answered the phone couldn’t understand me and I couldn’t understand him. The food quality was pretty good but the food portions were very small and lacked not only substance but also taste. In the scheme of things, its hard to find a good Chinese place in the area so an option is an option. I encourage you to try it for yourself and I hope that you have a better experience than we did. We tried it, but won’t be back.

Chinese fast food in Santa Monica with an A rating and decent lunch prices. The chicken chow mein is flavorful, but a bit salty. Weekday lunch specials are $ 4.99, $ 6.00 including tax. Dated décor lends to the dive restaurant appeal.

I just can’t give this place anything more than 2 stars. Am I a spoiled«used to live close to san gabriel for authentic chinese food» girl? Obviously. Came here for a work lunch. It’s typical americanized chinese food but a little bland, surprisingly. The seafood soup we had needed some serious salt. The chow fun was ok, but then again I will eat all chow fun because that’s how I roll. However, it fills a void in this part of town and it is quick and cheap. I’m sure I’ll be back, and as long as expectations are tempered, I’ll enjoy it for what it is. Caveat: Maybe the meat dishes are better, but I didn’t try any to give a well-rounded review.

Came here for lunch with the boyfriend. There was a bit of a wait, but the service was fast and the people were nice. Got the chicken chow mein and szechuan chicken. They were both good for the price.

Dragon Palace is as good as its going to get for cheap Chinese food in the middle of Santa Monica. It’s a good alternative from having to drive all the way to the San Gabriel Valley for Chinese. And did I mention it’s cheap? They have some crazy cheap specials — we are talking $ 5 for lunch or $ 5.50 for dinner — but we opted to steer away from the specials menu and get some of the good stuff. That good stuff was: General Tso’s Shrimp Moo Shu Chicken Soup — 3 flavor with crispy rice The soup was really interesting and had an authentic flavor which I enjoyed it a lot. It was a huge serving, so it’s good for sharing with a group. The crispy rice added a little something extra, and is something I’ve never had served like that before. The General Tso’s was pretty good. Not the best that I’ve had, but I have no complaints about it. Same goes for the Moo Shu. Both solid dishes. Is this the best most authentic Chinese food you’re going to have? Of course not. But for that price point and the convenience of not having to drive to the SGV, I’m a fan.

Excellent, cheap Chinese on the west side! $ 5 lunch specials 11a-4p there is free parking and this place is hidden in a little strip mall in Santa Monica. Haven’t tried their general/dinner menu but $ 5 for lunch is a great deal in this area, specially since there are tables and waiters to serve you food :)
