Funnel Cakes

I was in line to order and there was a customer before me. It was 8:59 and the store closes at 9 (didn’t know they closed at 9). The customer was still ordering and its 9:01. I’m with my friend still debating on what flavor we would like purchase. Customer is done and I ask my friend to double check the flavor we want. I’m walking up to the Window to order and they close and lock the window on me. They also change the sign to CLOSED. The employee didn’t even bother to ask me if I was going to order BEFORE They closed and locked the window. I know they saw me standing in line. I just found it very rude and it made us both upset because we were both looking forward to getting a funnel cake. So please next time have the decency to double check if anyone wants to order before closing to prevent any more upset customers. Thanks for the bad customer service.

Overall, this place is a 2.5 /​5. It is barely okay, but I’ll round up. Conveniently located on Santa Monica Pier, I’m always easily tempted to eat a funnel cake. Without fail, I’ve eaten from here each visit to the pier.
This place satisfies a funnel cake craving with fresh made to order funnel cakes. It is pricy though. $ 8.25 for a funnel cake, powdered sugar and some syrup… plus they’re so stingy with the powered sugar! Next time I’ll think twice about eating here. (But I do love me some funnel cake. That’s the dilemma, haha)
Overall, decent experience here. Pricy, but satisfying.
P. s. eat your cake while it’s hot or it’ll get soggy!!!

Ok, here’s the Funnel Cake pricing in a nutshell:
$ 7.25 for powdered sugar
$ 8.25 for powdered sugar + one topping
$ 1.00 for additional topping
They make the funnel cake right when you order. At The Funnel Cake Factory, there’s less variety of toppings: strawberry, chocolate syrup, pineapples… and the rest I don’t remember.
I had the sugar cravings, but I split this cake in half with my friend. We devoured it in 10 minutes. I recommend eating the funnel cake within 5 minutes after you order; it’ll turn soggy.

This place is awful forgot my order and were very rude when I brought my ticket up asking what was up I will never go here again more will I recommend it to anyone

Employees Emmanuel and Desmond provided horrible service. The supervisor Edmond didn’t really take me and my family too seriously when we had explained our situation.
I simply ordered funnel cake and a pretzel with cheese sauce. Should of had taken the hint when Desmond was taking my order like he hated life, because he then gave me a brick pretzel. I had asked nicely if I could get another one or even told him it was okay if they could just microwave the brick pretzel with a damp towel. «Microwave is for employees only…» Umm okay and then Emmanuel with his smart mouth was instigating and said that he would eat the brick pretzel… Umm okay was all I could think of because how did they ended up acting like this? From there Desmond gave in and said he was going to cook a fresh one. Checking in from time to time, but after 25 minutes and had finished eating the funnel, that umm okay was then a WTF is their problem. I did ended up getting a refund for everything I ordered.
The employees didn’t seem to enjoy working there, hating life, and like to start drama. Note that the funnel cake wasn’t really good too. My feedback is to leave the drama in their high school because everyone at the Pier didn’t come for that. The employees here might have time for some drama, but the rest of us at the Pier don’t have time for that!

I think this was one of the best invention ever! Yeah for funnel cake!!! You can’t eat funnel cake without a smile!! Yesterday I went to Santa Monica beach because it was scorching hot. After sun fun in at the boardwalk I couldn’t leave till I get this delicious creation. I new this place was popular because of the huge line that was form. I wouldn’t complain so much about the price since this area is a tourist attraction the price is understandable.

Just to let you know the line went really fast but to pick up your funnel cake was extremely slow. I got the classic funnel cake with strawberry. When I finally received my cake it was super hot. One thing I didn’t like is that they put a little bit of strawberries on my funnel cake. Like I see other people around me and they had so much! When I took my first bite ohh man was my mouth was on fire because i didn’t wait till my funnel cake cool down. The dough for some reason tasted too cakey which I didn’t find too pleasant. It wasn’t extremely crunchy I guess the reason for that was the employees were rushing on making the orders. Overall, my experience was good but not excellent. Next time I’m going tell them give me more strawberries and make my funnel cake more crunchy!
