Heather is wonderful! She’s professional, kind and her team is amazing. I cannot recommend he enough. If you are looking for full support pre and post partum she’s your lady!
Her ability to be warm, supportive and knowledgeable is unprecedented.

I’m not sure how to sum up the amazing work that Heather does as a midwife for a Unilocal review. I wish we could give an unlimited number of stars.
Heather became my midwife very late (35 weeks) into my pregnancy. My husband and I decided we were done trying to create the birth we wanted in a hospital setting that wasn’t friendly to our non-​intervention preferences and we were so lucky that Heather agreed to take us on so late in the game. My only regret is not putting myself in her care sooner. The difference between my hospital check-​ups and my check-​ups with Heather were night and day. Heather answered our never-​ending questions, spent lots of time with us both in her office and in our home, was warm, funny, knowledgable, calming, kind and generous. She was an incredible guide for my prenatal and post-​partum time; calming my Google-​fueled craziness and offering advice on how to care for myself and my baby before and after our birth.
During our birth, Heather was our composed and unruffled leader. I felt so safe in Heather’s hands; she is supremely professional and competent, extremely cool and collected under pressure. Our birth was everything we hoped it would be: safe, intimate, peaceful, and joyous. Heather (and the rest of our birth team, under her guidance) created the most important, transformative, and wonderful experience of our lives.

I had a wonderful experience with Heather. She was by my side throughout my VBAC journey. Now that I’ve experienced a birth with a doula and one without, I can say for certain that there is no way I would go into a labor experience without one. Specifically, Heather. If we have another baby, Heather will be present. No doubt.
My labor with my son Levi ended up being very long. I was 11 days past dates when he was finally born! I was having prodromal labor nightly and it was a tough, tough time for me. Heather was with me over text and came to visit during that time, and her support and presence is what helped me keep it together emotionally. I just felt like no one in the world understood… but her.
She has the kind of wisdom and calm demeanor that only come from experience. Her massage during my labor calmed me instantly and brought me so much relief. Her presence kept me centered and feeling safe.
When my son was born we cried together. It was a triumphant moment for me and one that continues to shape who I am as a woman and a mother. I was told I was broken! Heather helped me find the confidence I needed to try and prove «them» wrong.
If you’re reading this review, you’re lucky! You’re lucky because you’ve found her and she’s worth every penny and more. Trust me, you do NOT need a fancy new stroller. You need a safe, positive birth experience for your family.

Heather was an apprentice midwife at my birth almost five years ago. She was a real natural. Super chill energy — down to earth, accepting, loving, great sense of humor… all the qualities you want in someone who will share your most intimate of experiences. I just love her!!! When you are down in the deepest toughest time of your life, the energies you surround yourself with come to be the most important factor. You can not go wrong with Heather!

I had the lucky pleasure of getting Heather as a teacher in a child birth class I took while pregnant with my son. Heather has grace and ease that always gave me a feeling of comfort and support during a very vulnerable time. She helped create a space for every mama and papa in her class to learn, connect and thrive. to this day, i have such fondness for her classes as many of my dearest friendships started in that room with her as our guide. Thank you Heather!

I don’t write many reviews on Unilocal but am compelled to write about Heather. My wife and I had her as a Doula and as an instructor for infant care. I can’t recommend her enough and we are incredibly grateful that she was a critical part of the birth of our daughter.

She’s the best. Period. She’s the one you want by your side when things go down. And if you’re pregnant, things are going to go down. Heather is calm, level headed, kind, and also no nonsense. I trust her completely. I relied on her throughout my entire pregnancy and birth and now we have a healthy happy little girl to show for it. I want to get pregnant again just so I can hang out with her more. :)

Heather Heather Heather… where do I begin to express how grateful and blessed I am that she was part of, not one, but both of my baby girls’ births (12 years apart). My first go around she was Kristina and my Doula. In fact, I recall she was still in training and funny enough she was being coached on the phone while coaching us during the birth; we referred to her as our dial-​o-​doula for a while just for kicks. Prior to that glorious day when baby Mia was born Heather was in our circle of awesome friends/​family, which couldn’t have made the experience that much better. Fast forwarding 12 years later as Mia enters her teen years I decided to take the plunge to have another sprog with Meghan. After 9 months of waiting for number two baby, we decided to reach out to Heather again for some support, even after 8 weeks of Bradley training we needed her. The timing was impeccable because just a few days after we met with Heather and answered all our questions and concerns, baby Zoë joined us in the outside world. Though I was like a headless chicken during labor, Heather was cool as Ice and knew exactly what to say and do for this experience to be beautiful one for Meghan. And it was. It was as if mama knew she needed someone like Heather on our team and was waiting for such security before she was ready to give birth. It’s amazing how Mother Nature works that way. When I say this, I speak for all of the members in my family… we love you Heather, we wouldn’t have done it any other way

From the moment I met Heather, I felt an immediate comfort and sense of calm. She felt like the big sister I’d always wanted being able to talk to her about anything and not be judged. As my doula, I knew she’d look out for me, fight for me fiercely and nurture me with bottomless warmth — and this is exactly what she did. She followed through above and beyond. She met with my husband and I a few times at our home to discuss plans, intentions and to get to know us. She respected my husband and made him feel just as comfortable and a part of the team which was wonderful to see.
I have to say she was the reason I had a vaginal birth. There were two pivotal moments I will never forget. 1. my epidural wore off and the anesthesiologist was late so I felt the contractions big time for a while, and had a bit of en emotional melt down — she was right there with me — I said I felt like I’m not sure where this is going and how long I’m going to be in this for — she beautifully related it to parenting and made me feel heard and like she fully understood what I was going through. I didn’t feel alone and it calmed me right away allowing me to. get through the contractions.
2. I was in labor for 22 hours and half way through I still wasn’t dilating enough. Heather swooped in gracefully and told me to put on my headphones and listen to my Native American music to relax. She told me to stop listening to the heart monitor and massaged me until I fell asleep for two hours. After that, I opened up from a 4 to an 8. It was beyond a miracle. I owe it to heather to this day for making my pregnancy, hospital experience and post natal experience warm, loving and spiritual. I could not have done it without her. She deeply cares about her clients and is so down to earth, knowledgeable, professional, and passionate about her field. I highly recommend her as a doula. Her knowledge as a midwife sets her apart from everyone else. She’s apart of the family and we couldn’t have done it without her.

Let me first say Heather is amazing! She is the most caring, knowledgeable, and sweet person. I feel so grateful to have met her and had her apart of my birth. She was my rock towards the end of my pregnancy. I was very uneasy throughout my pregnancy of all the what ifs and worse case scenarios to the point of driving myself to be a nervous wreck. Heather was there for me during many of these freak outs, helping to calm me down. (Which is no easy task I must say). She has a presence about her that is so reassuring and calming. She was there throughout my labor helping me to relax and giving me the encouragement and support during every contractions. She was extremely attentive during the whole birthing process. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Afterwards she called several times to check up on myself and baby, making sure we were ok and answering any new parent questions we had. She even encapsulate my placenta for me and then drove it all the way out to me in the Valley! Even now postpartum she has been there to help me through the healing process and help in any way she can. Whether it be a phone call, appointment, or going above and beyond to research other resource that could be beneficial. She truly is a remarkable person and midwife! I feel so lucky to have had her as my midwife.

Heather is a wonderful Doula and birth educator! She is compassionate, empathic and passionate about everything relating to child birth. She is very professional and was a pleasure to work with throughout the process. I would highly recommend her to any mother to be.

I met Heather during my second pregnancy through the services offered at the Sanctuary birth center. Heather was studying to become a midwife but had already lot of experience in prenatal care from her doula journey. It was love at first sight. So much so that since we weren’t sure which midwife would be on call for our birth, we asked Heather if she could guarantee her presence. Needless to say she came to the birth of our son (along with the rest of the marvelous birth team) and I can still remember how loving her support was and how her reassuring voice guided me through each contraction. She was the constant reminder that I was safe. Heather has always been available for me before and after the birth of our son and I would recommend her to anyone who is looking to find support, love, competence and passion for every mom and their babies.
