Dr. Nissanoff did a great job repairing my torn rotator cuff! He and his staff are helpful, knowledgeable and seem to really care about their patients which is rare these days. Dr. Nissanoff in particular is very approachable and friendly. I highly recommend them.

Dr. Nissanoff is about the art of surgery, not the money… As humble as he is he is one of the best and has a sense of humor to get you thru those hard pre and post surgery times.

Dr. Nisanoff is an exceptional doctor and (mensch) great human being. As far as an orthopedic doctor is concerned, you won’t do any better. No matter what your problem, you are in great hands with him. He can quickly give a diagnosis based on years of experience, and make you feel a lot better knowing he will be the one to take care of you. Only have the nicest things to say about this wonderful physician.

I came in to see Dr. Nissanoff because I was having terrible lower back pain. I was in tears because I had no idea what was wrong with me and why I was in so much pain… With sincere compassion he said «I’m going to help you.» He explained after my MRI I have an annular lumbar tare… Not fun. It’s been a year now and with a re-​ruptured disc my recovery time took a little longer. But, I definitely would not feel the way that I do without Dr. Nissanoff. I would recommend him to anyone. I can reassure you, you’ll be in great hands. I knew I had a long recovery but I’m 90%better and couldn’t be happier.

I had a shoulder torn rotator cuff and six months after the injury I still had pain and minimal function.
I was referred to Dr Nissanoff for treatment.
After surgery, I had a 90% improvement and it has now completely healed.
He explains all procedures and treatment options clearly.
The office and rooms are clean and comfortable.
The staff are very nice, professional and helpful, especially Shana.
Appointments are easy to make with no wait.
He gives good referrals for MRI, physical therapists and surgeons.

I am SO incredibly glad I found this man! He is by far one of the kindest, gentlest and nicest doctors I have ever seen. He listens to his patients, is not arrogant or egotistical about his profession and genuinely wants to help. He is always smiling and treats everyone as an individual, always saying hello as he pops out to reception between patients. If I ever needed to have surgery, I would want to be in Dr Nissanoff’s hands.
It’s rare to find such a good doctor when dealing with personal injury cases, and I am so grateful for him.

Fantastic physician. He worked with me since day one working to better my situation. I fractured the distal portion of my radius and no physician wanted to come in late in the day to do surgery on my arm, which would have left me in a splint for a few days until surgery. But Dr. Nissanoff answered my needs and drove from OC late in the afternoon to work on me that night. I am extremely grateful for the precise positioning of my radius which allowed my radius to heal with no issues. I highly recommend anyone who is need of an advanced surgeon who will make sure your needs are tended to and ensure you are treated back to 100% of your old self.

Amazing surgeon!!! If its broken he will fix it. I am really that confident after seeing one of his patients speedy recover from shoulder surgery. Great personality also which makes anyone feel comfortable.

TL;DR? This is the doctor for you.
I never thought I’d be writing a review for a knee surgeon. I was in Instructor Training at Krav Maga Worldwide, when I was pulled off balance and felt three snaps in the back of my knee. Being the stubborn person that I am, I attempted to train on said knee until our lead instructor highly suggested I go to the ER.
I wasn’t able to walk and was in tears when I was fortunate enough to meet Dr. Nissanoff. He had been at the hospital checking in on a patient when I came in, and was kind enough to take time out of his busy day to examine me. When he told me he believed I had a torn meniscus and possibly other issues, I scoffed at him, and told him it was probably a sprain. Of course, an MRI later, I quickly learned that I am NOT a doctor.
The MRI showed I had completely torn my ACL, partially torn my MCL and just like Nisanhoff had said, I tore my meniscus as well. When Nisanhoff told me surgery would be necessary, I started bawling. He was very comforting and sincere during my whole emotional melt-​down and calmly explained the process of the surgery and helped me make my decisions as to whether I wanted to stay in California (out-​of-​state training — I’m from Texas) and what he could do to help in any situation.
I’ve never met a doctor before that actually seemed to CARE so much about his patients, and given his recommendations on Unilocal,as well as his phenomenal bed side manner, I knew that this was my surgeon.
Nisanhoff knew I was only here for the next week, and moved his entire schedule around to fit me in, in order to help. He had some kind of convention in San Diego (San Francisco… one of the San’s) the next day, and could not get me in, but was able to get me in the day after.
Even though he had his convention, he was still kind enough to come check on me the night before surgery after hours, just to see how I was emotionally and physically doing. He was very positive and reassuring, and come the next day, did an amazing job with my surgery.
I am still recovering, but everything is healing up nicely, and I’m pretty certain I’ll have very minimal scarring as well.
If you’re in need of a surgeon, this is your guy. You won’t be disappointed.

Dr. Nissanoff was my surgeon when I broke both my tibia and fibula. He did an amazing job, very little scarring despite inserting a rod in my tibia just below my knee down to my ankle and held in place using four screws.
Post-​surgery, I was back on my feet after six weeks, two weeks in PT and now a few months later, and back to 100% and will even be doing a Spartan Race this year.
His office can be a little hectic but his staff is excellent and very responsive. Anything I needed from prescriptions, questions and follow-​ups were handled quickly. He performed my surgery at St. John’s Hospital on just a few hours’ notice — on a Sunday afternoon (he said, «Don’t thank me, thank my wife!»).
Recently, I also came to see him for some popping in my elbow. He took his time to properly diagnose what was going on and clearly explained the condition and how it was not necessary to operate. Excellent manner, takes the time you need. His Beverly Hills office covers parking in the building garage.

I was apprehensive coming to this office for surgery consultation considering my situation is accident lien based. However, I must say Dr. Nissanoff is one of the absolute best doctors, and surgeons, I have ever met during my painful ordeal. The empathy that flows from his eyes matches the caring words coming from his mouth. As for the front desk staff.. Be prepared to feel a little discomfort when the secretary is overwhelmed with paperwork.
Since my recent arthroscopic left shoulder surgery performed by Dr. Nissanoff, I have to say it’s better than it’s ever felt. And that’s while I’m still in recovery! I actually look forward to him possibly performing the same procedure on my right shoulder„ eventually. If you’re recommended to see Dr. Nissanoff or Dr. Ghandahari, they’re both definitely awesome and reliable choices when almost everything medical in this society is anything but.

i had the privilege of being introduced to Dr Nissanoff for my shoulder injury that need surgery.
I had a fully detached clavicle due to a motor vehicle accident. I went to see Dr Nissanoff and we agreed that surgery was necessary. I went in for surgery and the whole process was fast and clean! only 3 months later i am back at the gym lifting weights and i feel as good as new! obviously i have to work on rebuilding the muscle loss but my surgery was a major success and with barely a scar to show for it!

Dr. Nissanoff is one of the most amazing physicians I have ever encountered. I’ve been to see him multiple times for various injuries and he has taken incredible care of me. He also performed surgery on me recently and the surgical and post-​op care was beyond my expectation.
He has also treated two of my small children — one for a foot injury and one for repeated elbow issues and he immediately put them at ease and dealt with their treatment in the most sensitive kind manner.
I highly recommend him to everyone I know.

I don’t understand how Dr. Nissanoff even gets a bad review. He knows what he is doing. I went to see him for my knee sprain, and found out that my meniscus was torn after 2 months of injury. I was in crutches for 2 months. Dr. Nissanoff took care of it with an arthroscopy which is way too minimal than any invasive surgery. After only 2 weeks of surgery I was able to walk without crutches and I feel like I got a new life. He listens to your problems and understand and suggests you many options. He is very friendly and actually care for his patients. Patients who complain about wait time, here’s what I would like to say, «He is taking care of another patient just like you without looking at the clock, while you have to wait 30 minutes to an hour longer. Be glad because you will get same level of care without rushing you out to take another appointment,»
I had no health insurance so he suggested me to apply for financial hardship. He made no issue about money before or after surgery knowing that I have no health insurance or enough income. So he’s definitely no in it for money. But his profession deserves to be paid :)

I’ve been seeing Dr. Nissanoff since Feb 2014. I am very happy with him. He is very friendly. I had left knee surgery a couple of months ago and I was so happy with Dr. Nissanoff that I am now scheduling my next surgery for my left shoulder. He personally comes to check in after the surgery several times while your in post op. He seems to be genuinely concerned about his patients.
My knee feels better now as I continue healing.
His office is super busy but they always get back to me within a day. They work hard so be patient!
I didnt rate it 5 because I have issues filling my prescriptions at my local pharmacy as the tablet he writes his prescriptions on has his Poway address. Most of the local pharmacies want it to be within Los Angeles county.

No one likes breaking bones but sometimes let’s face it, shit happens. So when I crashed a mountain bike, breaking my collarbone into multiple pieces, severing some muscles along with it for good measure, I needed medical assistance ASAP.
I really didn’t have time to shop around for a surgeon. This wasn’t a nose job, this was my shoulder snapped in half, bulging out of my back. Not exactly time for a second opinion, just cross my fingers that the on-​call knew what he was doing… Enter Dr Nissanoff.
Within minutes I could tell I was in good hands. There was no doubt in his voice, his plans were matter of fact as he told me what was going to happen, no hesitation. He’d apparently done this surgery a number of times and actually specialized in shoulder and clavicle injuries. Other surgeons in that hospital ask him to operate on them when needed, so if someone was going to cut me open it might as well be the man that other professionals trust the most.
It’s now just shy of a month after the surgery and I feel far better than I thought possible. I figured my summer was screwed, anticipating months of slings and pain. Little did I know I’d be in physical therapy by week three, back to about 95% range of motion by week four, and only a little stiffness/​soreness here and there. I have a plate and nine screws holding all the pieces of my collarbone together but beyond that I feel exceptional, my chest and back muscles were reattached with very skilled hands.
Time and time again I hear encouraging words, «Wow, your surgeon really stitched that well, you’ll barely have a scar!» Lately it’s been. «How are you practically back to normal in four weeks?» Yesterday it was «They had you lifting *weights* in physical therapy? Already??»
I’d like to bullshit and pretend I have super healing powers, that I’m just magically about four weeks ahead of schedule in physical therapy, but I’m not going to steal the credit here. My trust in Dr Nissanoff was obviously well founded, and for that I thank him.
If someone is granted the time to shop around for a surgeon, I’d recommend him without hesitation. What I would NOT recommend is crashing a mountain bike on a trail of rocks at about 25 miles per hour, especially if you have to hike a mile and a half out to the road in shitty cycling shoes afterwards.
Hey, at least I’m back in one piece. Thanks to the doc of course.
