Not sure how to get Unilocal to update Dr K’s contact info, but he recently moved his practice from Santa Monica to Woodland Hills. It’s unfortunate for those of us who live and work in Santa Monica, but he does now have some evening and weekend hours.

He is an okay doctor. Recently, the company partnered with UCLA health. They started telling me and my family to go take all these tests at UCLA medical places. I had to take a scan of my lungs. I asked them if there was any reason why, and they told me it was because I used to smoke. I have never once smoked anything. They told me that even if I had not, I should still go as part of my health check. I suggested another place and they told me that the UCLA medical plaza is better because they are partners. Does the office get anything for referrals? It is very shady… Dr. Kassan himself is nice, but takes a lot of vacations. The receptionists re not very nice and really seem like they do not want to be there, only talk to their coworkers.

Excellent Doctor. He’s been my primary care physician for 15 years and during this time I have never been sick. That’s how I judge a good doctor. The negative reviews here sound like they are written by people with some kind of emotional problem and/or have a permanent case of the dumb dumbs. Even when I’m a short notice appointment with something I’ve caught at work and Dr Kassan is squeezing me in to his schedule, we always have a pleasant conversation about lemon drops or Bears in Alaska. And he answers my zany questions(does the lime aid diet have any medical validity? etc) with a great sense of humor. Since SMBP has joined UCLA there have been some issues with billing, but that’s a larger problem between Blue Cross Insurance and UCLA, not Kassan. He has been nothing but generous in terms of my billing, and there are times in the past where I was not insured and paid him out of pocket because he is that good.

Dr. Rob Kassan takes advantage of medical billing. My husband visited for an annual check-up with a good insurance plan. He asked that my husband follow-up to get the results of a cardiogram one month later. We have been plagued with bills ever since both visits. Dr. Kassan failed to tell us that we would be charged for many of the tests he performed during the initial annual(we thought an annual visit was covered entirely thanks to Obamacare) and then charged a hefty $ 250 for the follow-up visit in which he took five minutes to read the results of the cardiogram. We could’ve read these tests online for free. Be very cautious of the tests Dr. Kassan runs and ask what the charges might be. The office billing practices are deceptive and the charges are hefty. Shame on you Dr. Kassan.

Dr Kassan is great! Very friendly and the appointment was quick and on time. When I had issues with billing he and his staff were very helpful in getting it resolved, which is much appreciated. Thanks so much!

Major ego, dismissive and lack of empathy. There are too many doctors out there that have a better bedside manor with patients to spend time with one who is all about himself. My recommendation is to spend your time and medical dollars elsewhere.

After searching all over LA for a good doctor, I finally found Dr. Kassan. It is so easy to get an appointment, there is very little wait. The whole team is sweet and goes above and beyond to help you. Dr. Kassan takes the time to listen, asks questions about your overall mental and physical health, and explains things so clearly. Highly recommend him!

He was rude, dismissive, disrespectful, and lacked empathy. He didn’t introduce himself. He was curt and didn’t answer any of my questions.
