Is this a used car store or licensed apple reseller? I got the feeling it was a used car lot. I went in with $ 2k intending to buy a computer, but had a few questions I wanted to go over before buying my expensive new computer. After the 3rd question the sales help said if your not going to buy a computer than dont waste my time and leave! I can’t believe this place is still in business. A lot of their stuff is refurbished, which they don’t tell you, and ever since I was a child thought it was a somewhat dirty place. I’m going to stick with buying direct through apple like most people do!

I’ve bought a few items for my work through MacMall online. They’re good about answering the phone and answering questions, but they’re consistently poor at delivering your items in a timely manner.
Examples:
* I buy some software for my employer, with an academic discount. They tell me the vendor (wrong vendor cited) requires the full paperwork for a 503C in order for me to qualify for (wrong product reference). I explain the situation, they said nevermind. Then 2 weeks go buy, and they tell me that they’re waiting for proof of my non-​profit status. 1 more week. Angry calls eventually result in me getting my license keys.
* I buy an iMac retina with a discounted rate I see on their site. «Shipping within 24 hours.» They send me an email that explains there’s a problem with the configuration, but they can swap memory in another unit… but that unit’s gone. So they cancel and re-​make my order. Oh well, next week it’ll be here. 2 weeks later, still on backorder status. (I’m sure I’ll get it eventually.)
But that’s the deal with this outfit: unless it’s on their floor, and you’re physically present to claim it, don’t expect anything in a timely manner. I doubt I’ll buy anything from them again.

No aggressive sale tactics here. In fact I felt like I was bothering the sales rep whom I finally approached after being ignored for 20 minutes. If he were a wealth of information, that treasure was buried beneath a thick layer of bitterness. The sign on the floor model iMac that I purchased was $ 20 less than what he rang me up for. I asked him to adjust the price and he wouldn’t. He said that the price had gone up. I knew this to be true because I had been following the price online, but any other store would have honored the price that was displayed. Do yourself a favor and save yourself a trip to these customer no-​service pros by ordering online. Great prices but bad attitudes.

Be careful !! They just closed Torrance and Huntington Beach. They are not paying mail in rebates that they are offering to sell their products.
Do not get suckered as I did to buy with a $ 100 rebate. After 4 months and a dozen calls they just won’t send the check.

It doesn’t look very nice inside and the staff, aside from the person helping you, completely ignores the fact that you’re there. I’m guessing this is the «sales commission system» at work. As a plus, they do have a big parking lot.
So aside from the store being a little dreary, they have a good selection hidden in their upstairs inventory area. They had the Macbook Pro configuration that I was looking for that even the Apple Store didn’t have. And at a good price. Three stars for that!

I have always loved this place for sales and service. Apple just made most service work a warranty void situation if it’s not done at Apple. Sad day to service monopoly coming back. Macmall couldn’t help me yesterday because of this but they are still the most helpful and well priced place I’ve been to in Los Angeles

Waste of my time … waste of my time … I was here buying a 8TB hard drive about a week ago — mentioned that I had a couple drives that didn’t work anymore and I wanted the data recovered — they said no — problem just bring in a hard drive that we can transfer the stuff — so I drove all the way back with what they had asked me to bring — to find out — they actually don’t do that here — Macmall: here’s the number — you can call them — it’ll be about $ 1000 a drive … I will not be back there anytime soon!!!

I want to share my experience with this online retailer and review an issue that was not discussed here, I was in market for iMac Desktop and found that
had some competitive pricing on the 27″ model I wanted, so I placed the order and paid with my verified PayPal account. Three days later, as I was reviewing my PayPal account, I noticed transaction cancelled. I was very surprised and when I inquired via email, I was told to contact another person who may have more info. Their reaction made me more angry. This is not a good way to play Ping Pong with your clients, nobody took ownership of the problem and left me in the dark. I know that sometimes vendors need to verify credit card info and may be concerned but in this case the company just canceled the order without notifications or disclosing a reason.
This was not a cheap desktop, it was close to $ 2000 order and I never expected to be treated like this. I saw a large number of bad reviews and wanted to share this experience with you all. I will never go back to this store and I will not recommend to anyone as their customer service is horrible.

I’ve never had a problem with these guys. I had them do some service on my macbook pro (namely, upgrading a hard drive). they were quick. relatively reasonable price. i’ve never bought anything in the store, but that service experience was relatively painless.

A year later and I get a call from Murial/​Marial — whatever her name is– asking for someone else. I mentioned nicely that she still has the wrong number and she says «I’ll make sure to add you to the ‘do not call’ list.» Let’s see how long ’till she calls me again. Honestly, why doesn’t she pay attention to her customers. I’m surprised she’s still there. I hope she’s only like this with me. Where do people learn about customer service these days?

My Macbook Pro had been acting strangely and then just at tax preparation time started to crash every five minutes. I took it to a Genius at the Apple store who couldn’t find anything wrong, aside from some abnormal mouse behavior so he suggested I take it home, back everything up, then return it so they could run tests on it for a few days. After doing so I tried to call the Apple store to make another appointment but with no luck. The message kept telling me to go on line and make an appointment which I couldn’t do since my computer was down again and I repeatedly ended up on long holds that ended in disconnections.
Out of sheer frustration I called Mac Mall and immediately got an actual person on the line who told me I could bring it in without an appointment for a free 15 min consultation. A technician by the name of Armen looked at it and In less than two minutes told me the battery had expanded from overheating and was putting pressure on the track pad causing the mouse abnormalities which resulted in the crashes. This also explained why the battery door was shut unevenly at the bottom, He took the battery out and showed me that it worked fine with just the power supply, and suggested that I could also buy a new battery if I wished and he would install it at no charge. I did, and it has worked beautifully ever since and my taxes are done. Thank you Armen!

I’ve been a Macmall customer for a long time and their products have always been reliable. If you know what you want and they have it, it is much easier than the Apple store which I think is kinda lame.
I want to talk about TECH SUPPORT. This week my internal drive in my MacBook Pro crashed hard. I was working on a somewhat involved video piece and I was about 90 percent done with when it happened. Maybe it was caused by my error of trying to render too much to the internal but either way I was hosed. I tried everything to get it to boot; target, fsck, batteries out, disk warrior, etc. No dice.
I took it to Tom at Macmall and he starts the slow process to recover the data. I order a new internal because I know this one is done. If you’ve ever been here you know how it is — miserable but I would not let it get me too down. I started to plan to get back to where I was in my project. Two days passed and Tom called and said he was done with the the data recovery and the drive install and now he needed my password to see how it went. He fires it up and to both of our shock the entire memory has been restored. Fricking unbelievable.
I know I got super lucky but Tom was the guy who made it happen. He and the other staff were courteous and helpful throughout the entire process.
So, if your machine crashes and you don’t know what to do, hit up the crew at Macmall and ask for Tom.
They fixed my machine when it seemed unlikely that it would happen. Thanks so much!

Tj the store mgr. was professional and helped me answer any questions regarding any specifics with these cutting edge modern laptops… Got a new Macbook pro and its working great so far, and not to mention Tj was super cool and knowledgeable !

Ordered an item through MacMall early in the morning. They advertise free same day delivery to your business if placed before 2PM and if within 15 miles. I ordered before noon and I’m 4 miles away.
Waited several hours, gave them a call just before 5PM. Was told that the item was on its way with the driver and would be there in 15 minutes. An hour later, no driver, called back and was told that the driver hit a lot of traffic and wouldn’t be coming but that it would for sure be coming the next day.
Next day rolls around, at about noon I give them a call and they assure me its on the way. Again, 5PM hits no driver, so I give them another call… I’m told that the driver has a «boat load» of items and that they can text him to see if he’s coming.
I canceled my order. Thanks for wasting my time MacMall. Avoid this unprofessional nonsense.

Selection is very limited regarding software. For peripherals like older model iPhone headsets, MacMall is of no help — everything in-​store is for the iPhone 5.
Still, when I save up enough money, I’ll get my MacBook Air from here or its online store.
Free parking lot in back of this store in high rent SaMo is a huge plus!
