Just ok… too pricey, bagels are very good but the bialys are dry. Breakfast sandwiches are no good but the tuna salad is great. Just middle of the pack for a bagel shop. Would be 4 star if pricing was lower. Overpriced by 30−50% compared to NY bagel shops with much higher rent.

Their jalapeño cream cheese is the best around. No doubt. Love their bagels, highly recommend.

Great bagels, efficient friendly service. The staff is really nice. But. the place could use a face lift. The menu is unreadable. Still can find a bagel with cream cheese listed on it. It serves the purpose, but could me much more inviting. The good news is that it’s hardly crowded! CNN on the TV, good coffee right next door at Coffee Bean, or right across the street at Groundworx, and great for people watching.

really yummy bagel! freshness all around. not the friendliest staff which is unfortunate because it has the feel of a real mom and pop type of place but then again, its just a bagel shop – come in, get your bagel, and go about your day(they do have a big seating area though)

This place is absurd! The employees walk around with no purpose or urgency. It took 30 minutes to get me my 2 un-toasted bagels! Over the 30 minute span I was there they literally messed up every single order. I am baffled. Save yourself the time and go somewhere else.

Main Street Bagels Santa Monica is the bomb. Toasted Everything Bagel Sandwich with Lox, Tomato, Red Onion, Capers, and Cream Cheese. These ingredients marry so well together. East coast natives bitch about quality bagels in LA all the time. This place in Samo is close enough to only bitch a little. Love the bagel sandwiches here. A great Lox and Bagel combo will make anyone smile.

The bagels are ok on their own — stick to that and don’t get a sandwich. I gave it a try for lunch today as thought it must be better than the Unilocal reviews. If anything it was worse. Veggie one was lettuce tomato and onion no cream cheese, $ 9 and so dry I couldn’t eat it. Was supposed to have sprouts and avocado if I remember correctly. What a shame!

If you come in before noon and get an everything bagel, toasted with cream cheese, this will be as good as a NY bagel(but not as good as the very best bagels in ny). I’ve also gotten bagels with deli meat on the side, a very affordable and delicious meal. However, I probably wouldn’t go for their fancier sandwiches, look too pricey /not worth it. Also, I wouldn’t come in too late in the day, the bagels are less fresh at that point, as they make them themselves early in the morning. And the coffee is better across the st at the local boutique coffee place. I’ve seen some complaints about service in other reviews — the guy behind the counter has been nice to me every time, and remembered me by the second time I came.

Check out my review for Sams Bagels. It’s the same place but under Main Street Bagels. Worst egg mit bagel I’ve ever had. Threw away half and spit out a ¼ of the other half. Don’t waste your money or time. Coffee bean will probably make you a better bagel.

Stopped here and bought 2 whole wheat everything bagels and 1 regular everything(to give to a homeless man). The homeless man didnt want it. LOL. *shaking my head*. I enjoyed the Whole Wheat bagel. Very chewy, lots of seeds and a huge bagel for 99 cents. I liked it a lot more than Western Bagel.

So I love bagels and in San Francisco they give great bagels with lots of veggies. I have tried other bagel shops, but I am looking for my favorite here in Santa Monica. Unfortunately, I came across Main Street bagels because I thought it would be a great bagel place. ALL I wanted was a bagels and Lox, which was $ 12(so expensive). Then I was just asking some common questions cause I didn’t know what to get and got so much attitude! Finally, I wanted a bagel with lettuce, tomatoes, jalapeños(extra charge) and onions. Took it to go and boom — 1 piece of lettuce, no tomatoes and a little thing of onions. I had to make my own at my house. Usually, I am super nice and never say anything bad, but I was really disappointed with the serving and customer service cause I was so excited for a bagel shop.

If you’re going to get your gluten on, this is the place. The bagels are delicious but the coffee is only so so(go to coffee bean next door for your caffeine fix).

Bagels aren’t my morning preference usually. On a cold day a warm bagel craving for sure. Checked out Main St Bagels… Place was not busy at all, I figured to just walk in and walk out with my order. «Right!» Bagel was satisfactory, the wait for something so basic was ridiculous. One thing I ALWAYS look for is customer service, it wouldn’t kill the cashier girl to smile and pretend to be engaging. But you can’t win them all I guess. Not going there again.

Bagels are just okay, but the bialys are dry and gross. A small tub of cream cheese costs an outrageous seven dollars. The service is borderline rude. My coworkers and I are on a mission to try out every Westside bagel place with Friday bagel day. So far I have yet to find a bagel place with decent customer service — it’s all surly, sullen people. This makes a big impact on my impression of your restaurant, and also impacts my day as I’m just getting started when I encounter this terrible people. I wish business owners would take some time to train their employees in customer service. If anyone knows of an actually okay bagel place on the Westside, please hit me up, because so far we are not having any success.

Had a jalapeño bagel, which was pretty great, and a sundried tomato bagel which was bright red, but wasn’t as flavorful as the color led us to believe it was. The major bummer is that while bagels are 99 cents, its $ 1.79 to get it toasted. 80 cents to toast my bagel? What a ripoff…

You’ll pay twice as much($ 3.77 with tax — they always throw in an extra $.50 charge charge that I don’t understand) for bagels that are half as good as NY bagels, but there are really no other good options on Main St. The cheese bagel is good enough to come back for once a week.

Great local bagel place where they make the bagels from scratch every day! Interior décor is a dated and dreary, but service and staff are friendly and fast. You can get bagels, bialys, bagel sandwiches, snacks and drinks here. They have mini bagels too. Lots of bagel flavor options — plain, everything, chocolate chip, blueberry, cinnamon raisin, etc… I would stay away from the smoothies — my husband got the blueberry smoothie and it tasted awful.

I really don’t get the economics of Main Street Bagel. A bagel with no cream cheese is $ 0.99. A bagel with cream cheese is $ 2.99. A tub of cream cheese by itself is $ 3.00. Hmmmm… Not that I am one to complain over 2 bucks, but the service is incredibly slow. Be prepared to wait quite a bit and if you’re in a rush, FORGETIT!

I was hungry while shopping on Main Street and thought, what better place to grab a quick bite than Main Street Bagels? My breakfast bagel sandwich came out soon after I placed the order. Not bad! It consisted of eggs, ham, and cheese on a cinnamon raisin bagel. The bagel had good texture and everything tasted fresh. Not bad, but definitely not the best I’ve had. The shop was kind of empty on a Friday and I could see what the other reviewers mean by the lack of décor. Because the shop is clean and fast and the location is convenient, I’ll be back.
