Marco Polo Imports

My wife is a big fan of their furniture, and there are some great pieces here. Even if you don’t have the budget i would say shopping Marco Polo Imports is a must. You will probably be inspired.
I love the leather swivel rocket chairs (aviator) we got from them.
I can also speak to their custom work. We got a custom bedroom set. The end result when it is all said and done is wonderful but i think despite best efforts and intention there may be some lack of focus on details. With that said the outcome is something that both my wife and i are very happy with.
We were even sent a brand new mattress to make us happy, alas the mattress was not the issue. Since my wife operates a custom bedding and drapery work room herself i understand some of the issues in that when you rely on others they may half complete the work or miss a color or a detail on a custom job. It’s probably not my place to say but i think a little more co-​ordination or process of checking would say Marco Polo some time and money in not having to fix little details that may have been missed.
Color of our over sized decorative upholstery nails were wrong — promptly fixed
Dresser was not stained to the agreed color — offered to take it back to fix it and i am certain it will be done
What we thought was a problem with a mattress ended up being an issue with the bed not having been constructed properly at the base with no support — and this was a bit frustrating despite like i said them sending us a brand new mattress so obviously that are wanting to take care of their customers. but a simple visit to our place to look at the furniture or awareness of what is moving in and out of the store or the workrooms would have avoided them extra costs, mattress supplier to replace a mattress which was perfectly fine and us a few weeks of having to sleep in separate beds.
I can share that when there are issues and problems to resolve Aaron is willing and able to resolve it for a customer fairly and well.

I purchased a side table on-​line from Marco Polo. It arrived in a badly damaged box and the top of the table had damage to the finish. I called to see let them know about my issue and their proposed solution was to send me a touch up pen. Not satisfied that was a fair resolution, they ‘kindly’ offered to let me re-​pack it, ship it back to them, less a 20% restocking fee for something that was damaged due to their packing and shipping. I finally got them to begrudgingly agree to a small reimbursement ($ 25), but still have not received the refund or the touch up pen several months later. Terrible customer service.

I don’t review a ton of places, because most places don’t exceed my expectations. Meeting my expectations is good… great doesn’t happen often. Not only is the furniture beautiful, tasteful and really well made, the staff is super knowledgeable, friendly and just cool.
The pieces I bought (outdoor furniture, headboard, trunk, side table, lamp, sofa cushions, chairs etc) have all received big compliments from friends followed by «Where did you find that!?» ESPECIALLY a teak wood wood side table. That made me feel awesome.
I love this store the way I love my iPad. It is exponentially better than ANY furniture store I’ve been to in LA.
And to the reviewer who rated them 1 star… what kind of an A-​hole reviews a store without stepping foot in it? You’re a moron. I’m SOOO glad I was smart enough to read past the star and take a look for myself. You should too!

Very frustrating experiences trying to get information about furniture from this place.
First of all, the website is very cumbersome and unhelpful. There are not individual pages for specific items of furniture; rather you get a gallery of images, none of which has any pertinent info such as size, price, or in many cases even name of product.
So I emailed asking for info on a few items. Never got a response.
Then I called. The first time I called I got disconnected. I called right back, and I got the fax machine.
When I finally got through on the third try, I spoke to a fellow and asked whether he could give me competitive pricing for some pieces that I would have to wait a significant amount of time for from another vendor. He told me that he would get back to me the next day. I never heard from him.
So, I cannot speak to the in-​store shopping experience, but I certainly cannot recommend them at all based on my various other attempts to get basic information about furniture I wanted to buy.

I would never buy furniture here again. This place is a total joke. I bought two dressers here and some other items. Apparently, they select the price based on how much it looks like you can pay. On the weekend I purchased a dresser for about 2k. I liked it and as I thought about it I decided to get a second. I went back on Monday and asked some girl who I did not recognize from my weekend trip how much a matching piece cost. It was about the same size, but a bit smaller, so I figured it would be about $ 1800. The next thing I see is an invoice for $ 4800. I was like WHAT? She told me this is the MSRP. I was like — well why is th other piece 2k? She told me I got a deal. I could go on and on, but I hate places like this — I always think the other person is getting a better deal.
As for my dressers? This all happened 8 months ago — as was the case my furniture took two months to come in – not the three weeks promised. And the drawers did not shut. I could not belive that the drawers were not inspected before they were sent to my house. I brought the drawers back — and they were supposed to be sanded down so they would fit — about two weeks later I picked them up — one still does not fit — Does any of this bother the folks at Marco Polo? Not one bit. My dresser drawer is still there. These losers still can’t get it right. I bought a dresser 8 months ago for 2k and I still dont have it. Unreal.

Service is okay and they have some good items. Indian furniture… Moroccan.
It is easy to barter and get better prices. I got a very nice desk here. However, I did buy some expensive bar stools that are falling apart. I think some of the stuff that they have is not the best quality. If you can tell the difference and like to barter then you might walk away with something decent…
