Very grateful to the guys at optical designs. Ive done business with them for years. I cant tell you how many times theyve repaired my glasses without charging me. At least a dozen times over the last decade. They both have excellent taste and are experts at what they do. And their«can do» attitude is very much appreciated by me. Im not an easy customer! I know they are considered expensive; but in my case with all the free repairs that Ive received, I consider their prices a bargain! Thanks guys!

I have been a customer of Optical Designs for almost as long as they have been in business and I have never been disappointed. I have always felt that, whatever the cost, I received my monies worth in great service and convenience. All the employees are consistently pleasant and eager to help. Optical Designs services what it makes and I have never felt they were too busy to perform an adjustment. They are also very involved in the community and are a wonderful addition to the businesses of Santa Monica

Optical Designs is a Montana Avenue institution. They’ve been there for over 20 years and if you know them, you’re looking better for it. The gentlemen who work at this corner boutique have exquisite taste and an uncanny sense of finding the perfect frames for you. And I mean PERFECT. They are optical stylists. Not guys that fell into a job at an optical shop. Glasses are their passion. The frames you see an actor or actress wearing at a movie première or say The Academy Awards… that’s what they do. That’s the level of artistry you’re getting. You’ll walk out looking that much more ready for a photo shoot after they’re done with you. Of course such skilled attention does come at a higher price, as you would expect, but if you wear glasses every day from morning to night it is worth every penny. The frames selection is unique, hand picked by them and the optical glass they use is A-list all the way. Come with your prescription and be ready to spend $ 500+ on your frames. But you’ll feel where that $ 500+ dollars went, every time you put your new frames on and look in the mirror.

This is a charming boutique with a great selection of frames for both glasses and sunglasses. Right when I walked in, I was greeted and helped by the owner. After I described what my current frames looked like he immediately started walking around the store pulling frames. I put on on about 6 or 7 before settling on a fabulous pair of Anne and Valentin frames. None of the frames had prices on them and he doesn’t deal with insurance, so I paid full price. But it was a great experience and I’d recommend going if you’re looking for a change.
