Go here now! I just moved to Santa Monica and wanted to buy my first skateboard. Billy was so helpful and made the purchase so easy. Pick d up an Anchor. He even referred me to a friend for lessons. Total local gem!

Every once in a while… you stumble upon a golden business. Golden businesses are those which are comfortable and functional no matter what era the existing. Rip City is one such place.
While small, it is packed with clothes, boards, safety gear, and acts as a museum of iconic skate history of sorts.
The owner is amazing. You will have a truly great experience feeling this man’s compassion and dedication to a lifetime of seeing the sport of skating evolved into what it’s become today.
On top of this, the prices are fantastic. They are also very supportive of community youth, fundraising efforts, and non-​profits. We’re I a younger person, I would be here constantly, just for the vibe it carries.
The other worker I met was an echo of the owner, only several decades younger. They were both a fountain of positivity, stories, amd information. I’m immensely happy with my new board!

Great place to take the kids for their first board and gear! Or for the older «kids» who still skate!
It has been around since the 70’s and continues to rip!
If you want to get a real board created and designed by real skaters and support team members then look no further!
Staff is knowledgeable and will help you find exactly what you need then put it together for you!
You can also get pads and helmets that are officially and cool enough for the parks!

I would give this Skate shop 6 stars. Jim and William there are amazing. They have the widest selection of boards and parts and the advice and recommendations to back it all up. I love this place. In addition their prices are very fair.

This place is amazing! My daughter is a recent skateboarding freak. Her friend introduced her to this shop and it is perfect! So many great things to look at. From the chair built out of skateboards to all the fun stickers, there is so much to look at. Prices are great and the owner (?) is super knowledgable!

They were so patient and friendly and informative! I left there with a board I’ve been using daily, with a seriously great price.

Have a look inside!
I was on vacation around Cali and come along to buy a longboard. It’s a small shop but with a lot of character. Definately worth it to have a look! The owner is a proper skate guru/​original/​one-​of-​a-​kind and his older age makes the whole set up just perfect.
Had a short talk to him and enjoyed it a lot. He also gave me some advice I am very thankful for. The shop was pretty crowded so he was busy most of the time.
You’ll find a lot of brands, get great advice and the prices are really fair!

Fantastic store! My husband and I needed skateboards for our kids. We’d already spent a ton of money after being poorly directed by another skate shop. Rip City totally took care of us. They didn’t try and over sell us.
