Secret Desires

this is my new favorite shop, i drove from the san fernando valley to santa monica. the gentlemen was very helpful and very informative.
i will be back very soon again

The salesperson was very friendly and was attentive and most helpful with giving advice on products.
They have a wide range of products in all shapes and sizes.
I was able to find a garter belt and thigh highs in my size, which is on the curvier side.
So curvy girl approved.
Came out with a couple more items that weren’t on the list to buy but couldn’t help myself.

poor customer service they don’t stand behind their products. i had an issue with an item, called them the next day they said bring it in, i wasn’t in the area for another 5 days and they made a big deal about «so much time passing since the purchase», then said it didn’t matter i have to deal with manufacturer. sales guy called me dude and offered a discount on another item (probably only a few dollars) but wouldn’t even exchange. GO ELSEWHERE!

So I guess they have another store. I was in the Torrance location awhile ago and was pleased and this was no different. Much smaller, but still had the essentials I needed for the evening. The dude working was helpful despite looking rough. He knew his stuff about the lubes and now I’m a sexpert too. Gotta have lube and condoms. Looked more like a boutique type store because of its size, but they cram a lot in it. Good times had by all.

The customer service in this store is the worst! You want your shopping experience to be comfortable and enjoyable when you shop a store like this. I purchased an item that should have come with a standard usb type charger… and it didn’t. I got it home and there was no charger in the box.
I called the store because I live 2hrs+ away and asked them to please send the missing (critical) component! The first associate was clueless and offered a call back from her manager later that day. I received no call back. I called a few days later to follow up and was told by another girl (who refused to let me speak to the manager directly) that they had no intention of fixing the problem.
For the record: By LAW when you purchase an item that states it includes all parts and a part is missing, the retailer has the responsibility (if not the decency — or the self-​preservation instinct any business owner *should* have) to replace or provide the missing part. Even if that means they have to contact the manufacturer for you!!!
I paid full price for an item and did not receive what I paid for. That friends, is stealing.
I will NEVER shop here again! I do not recommend any one does either unless you like being left high & dry.

So happy this store reopened. I was looking for a specific item which they didn’t have but ended up buying something completely different based on the managers recommendation.
The selection has been scaled down due to the smaller store size but you’ll get no complaints from me. The managers knowledge of the products was impressive and she even included some free sample lubes so I could try a few different kinds before buying.

I thought this was a great place to get anything you might have left at home on your vacation :) The place was easy to find (there used to be a random shop on Main that has closed) and had anything you could dream of. Best part — all reasonably priced! Hubby and I walked out of there with 3 new things to try for $ 30.
ps — The man working behind the counter was friendly, helpful and completely unobtrusive, which I appreciated.

Every girl should have that friend, you know the one, the one with a goodie drawer that’s practically bursting apart because it’s so full of various goodies.
Personally, I’m an interesting combination of an observant consumer and That Friend. I try not to go to places like Secret Desires, particularly after having a cocktail or two, because I tend to buy things I don’t necessarily need.
But when my good friend (who’s cute and rebounding, btw) told me she’d NEVER owned a vibrator of any kind, and told me she’d like to purchase one, I demanded that we go find one.
I would have LOVED to know that this place was here last year when I was shopping around for components of my Halloween costume. They’ve got a ton of stripper clothes and shoes, as well as body stockings and all the etc that you can think of.
They’ve got a decent selection of toys too, I didn’t get into the DVD section, mostly because of the internet fulling that need in my life. The girl who was working there was helpful and friendly, and obviously not creepy as she was a girl. She suggested a pretty fantastic toy, which we both purchased, and she was right on the money!
I will definitely be back the next time I need to do some serious shopping, or for Halloween :)

Not as many movies as you would think, given how big it was (pun intended). Mostly clothing. Some toys, but not too many. Mostly on the order of dildos.

Though they have cheap dildos, they have a few good BDSM toys and plenty of good decals and cards. It is more of a stripper supply place, lots of really cheap (quality) lingere and shoes, and enough of a selection of lube to keep me happy.
I got this awesome «Fuck Republicans» decal for like 2 bucks. My mom has it on her Fridge and still asks where I got it.

Me: «Do you have a cake mold in the shape of boobs?»
Sales rep: «Hmm let me check… …. no we only have penises.»
Go figure, when a girl needs a set of hooters… she only finds a pecker. Guess I’ll have to build a boob cake sans-​mold. (See picture.)
Various selection of toys, dildos, stripperella shoes, low quality lingerie, polyester costumes and all in all, over priced. Great for last minute bachelorette party favors and gag gifts. Thats all. Oh, friendly sales reps and theres parking.

I am not fudging when I say that last night was the first time I have ever stepped into an adult store.
I needed a bachelorette gift for my best friend and I thought it might be amusing to get her a gag gift of furry handcuffs or some sort of edible undergarment. The store was pretty huge and not quite as raunchy as I expected, in fact, it looked much like a Frederick’s of Hollywood, only stocked with an alarmingly large selection of dildos.
I settled on some sexy underwear, a feather boa and a sample pack of lubes. The prices are a little steep, but the service was excellent, the guy that worked there was extremely helpful and gentle with first timers like me. He also threw in a pair of panties that you can hook your iPod onto.
I wouldn’t consider becoming a regular here but perhaps when Halloween rolls around I’ll stop in for that sexy Bumblebee outfit and stripper shoes!

They have lots of clothing and shoes. That’s obviously their main focus.
The toys are mostly the lower quality jelly type. Somewhat limited selection of lubes. I’d go somewhere else for toys and such.

Next on my list of porn store reviews is Secret Desires. This is my second favorite adult store in LA (Bed Behavior on Hollywood Blvd. being #1.) The store is HUGE and has a large selection of stockings, shoes and costumes. Definitely great Halloween shopping, but the prices are a little high. The store is usually deserted, with only 1 or 2 employees and hardly ever any shoppers. The only bad thing is the dressing room which is a tiny room in the back behind a very revealing curtain. But if you’re shopping here you’re probably not the modest type, so don’t let that keep you away!

It’s a nice place in Santa Monica in which you find your adult toys, videos, clothes, etc. It’s a pretty large store with a good selection of things and is even a great place to go for Halloween as they had some awesome costumes that give it that extra edge, but they are overpriced! The one creepy thing was a cashier once who was just asking me way too much about what I was going to use the lubes for and if I liked that flavor and stuff like that. I just felt it was my business and I didn’t care to go in depth with him. Other than that experience, it has been pretty good.

clean and tasteful adult novelty and video store in santa monica. the store is pretty large and offers a comprensive selection of lubes, toys, devices, condoms, clothing, videos and novelties. there’s lots of clothing and costumes so this would be a great place for halloween shopping. the videos for sale and rent were a bit inconsistent in terms of selection.
