NYC’s famed soft serve chain, Tasti D-​Lite, and ATL’s delicious smoothie chain, Planet Smoothie, come together to form the ultimate grab-​and-​go experience.

Tasti D-​Lite is an frozen yogurt-​like dessert, but is lower in calories, carbs, and sugar than its cohorts. Tasti D-​Lite uses no artificial sweeteners and uses real dairy and sugar, with most flavors being gluten free.

Planet Smoothie blends up over 35 real fruit smoothie and Superfruit (Acai and Dragon Fruit) Bowl varieties that utilize a Stevia-​based sweetener.

Tasti/​Planet will also serve Peet’s Coffee, meal replacement bars and a variety of snacks for a true one-​stop-​shop.

The Tasti D-​lite phenomenon began in Manhattan in 1987 and has been serving its healthier frozen treats to an ever-​growing base of happy, health-​aware consumers for over 25 years. It’s even has been featured on TV shows like Sex and the City, The Apprentice, and 30 Rock, and has been promoted by many celebrities through social media.

In 2011, Tasti D-​lite acquired Planet Smoothie, a company also focused on the active, healthy consumer. Planet Smoothie’s line of real fruit smoothies are made with their exclusive Lean Leaf sweetener, derived from Stevia, that contains only naturally-​occurring sugars, resulting in significantly lower calories.

The Santa Monica pilot is the first of its kind to partner with Peet’s coffee making for a trifecta of quality product offering unmatched in the market place.

Business Owner

Kanna and Ramu Sunkara are Santa Monica locals. With over a decade of real estate experience, they have found a unique niche in the real estate industry (and now franchising industry) through their dynamic relationship as identical twin brothers. Both Ramu and Kanna obtained Business degrees from the University of California. Additionally, both have obtained Masters degrees in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. The Santa Monica Pilot Store is a heart-​felt project for them both, and they are excited to share this amazing concept with their beloved Santa Monica community.

Only slightly impressed. Sampled the smoothie and froyo but went for the acai bowl after a long hike. The acai mixture was unfortunately very watery and I felt like it would have been better to drink it with a straw than to use a spoon. The employees were very helpful and willing to talk about their product which made the whole process very enjoyable.
I’ll be back to purchase some froyo so I hope it turns out better than the acai.

Love this place. More fitness-​friendly than traditional frozen yogurt and tastes MUCH better than a lot of the health food ice cream substitutes (sorry Arctic Zero). My favorite flavors are cinnamon crunch cereal and rice pudding, though Oreo is also pretty delicious. And it’s conveniently located between Whole Foods and Sidecar /​Mendocino Farms :)

It was just ok but overpriced in my opinion. The store was clean and staff was friendly. I didn’t like that there were no fresh toppings to choose from just the usual dry stuff like nuts and oreos. The yogurt it self was delicious though!

I got the Lean Green Extreme protein smoothie and it was AMAZING. It was way better than anything at Jamba Juice!!! I would definitely recommend this place for smoothies. It’s a quick walk to the 3rd street promenade too!

They are not always consistent in the smoothies/​bowls that they make. Nonetheless, it’s a nice place to go to when you don’t feel like real dinner. It’s also nice to try some of their frozen yogurt flavors.

Seriously the best frozen yogurt place ever! Forget all of those other frozen yogurt places! Come here for a flat rate and add however many toppings you’d like! Great flavors and a huge selection of toppings!

I’m an NYC transplant, so I am super jazzed this chain is making it out to the West Coast, but I have some chief complaints:
1. Flavors only change once a week. What’s my incentive to come back in less than a week?
2. NO CHOCOLATE on tap while I was there. 8 flavored, no chocolate, NOT OK.
3. No chocolate stored in the fridge on site. In fact, no yogurt stored in the fridge. Why have the fridge then? The fridge is supposed to represent a backup supply of flavors to choose from if the 8 on tap are insufficient (e.g no chocolate on tap).
4. Acai berry on tap and no chocolate on tap. In what world/​reality would acai berry be forecasted as more popular than chocolate? I’m all ears, but it doesn’t make sense.
5. Staff friendly.

YUM YUM YUM!!! What a brilliant concept to pair frozen yogurt and smoothies. Everyone is happy!
I loved my Green Smoothie AND I tried and amazing Oreo yogurt flavor. The Green Smoothie was very scrumptious AND healthy. Also, the atmosphere was so friendly and light filled. I talked to one of the owners, Kanna, who was so present and helpful with me. So was the rest of the staff.
I highly recommend this place for a get together with a small group, as EVERYONE will have something to eat and enjoy.

Not impressed with my visit at all. I came this past Monday with my mom because they have free Mommy Mondays deals. Parking was easy so that was probably the only perk.
We went inside and had to wait for the coworkers to stop chatting before we were helped. They gave my mom a free cup for the promotion and mine was only $ 2 plus tax because I was her kid and kids get a discounted rate during the promotion as well.
Next I went to look at all the flavors they have. I want to say there was about 10 different flavors. I tried to look for any type of labeling as nearly every frozen yogurt place has signs above the flavors that could cause a problem for those that are allergic. (I.e. Dairy free, gluten free, etc) There were none I could see so I went to the coworkers again. Again they were talking amongst themselves and sharing a picture on one of their phones so I waited till they realized I was there. I asked them if the tart flavor was dairy free and they said no that all of the flavors have dairy.
I was very surprised to hear that as I have never been to a frozen yogurt place that doesn’t have at least one dairy free flavor. I told them I can’t eat any of them and asked if any of the smoothies can be made dairy free. They said yes so I paid the difference and ended up getting a smoothie.
Overall very disappointed in the lack of products and signs for those of us who have specific dietary issues. Also disappointed in the unprofessional customer service we encountered.

So good. We used to go to yogurtland, but it never really hit the spot. The flavors were often weird and way too sweet. Tasti D-​lite is a million times better! Their Greek yogurt flavor is the best froyo EVER. Toppings are always fresh, and the people working are always courteous.
I am a pro there now, but I do appreciate how they make an effort to inform you of the ordering process as soon as you walk in the door. Paying first is great, because you can just roll out with your froyo when you’re done instead of waiting in line trying not to eat it! Just ask if you want a sample cup when you pay, voila.
Great product, well managed location. I saw some coupons on the neighbor’s car and almost took them, but it’s tasti d-​lite… I like you so much I will pay full price.

It’s awkward how they have you purchase the cup, then pay extra for toppings, then fill up the cup… but none the less the froyo was amazing and the soft serve ice cream was as well and it didn’t taste sugar free or fat free! I’m glad it was free, they had a promotion for Mother’s Day yesterday.

This place is awesome! They have smoothies, acai bowls, and frozen yogurt. I got the acai bowl. Kayla served us and was great! She allowed us to put whatever toppings we wanted on our bowls. Service was great. Bowl was very delicious. Fruit was fresh and the granola, honey, and coconut shavings on top were he perfect touch. The bowl was about eight dollars.

Awesome place. Got an acai bowl here and it was delicious. I would have liked the acai base to be a little thicker and to have had a little more fruit and granola on top but compared to other places you get good value for your money here!
Kayla was super helpful. I sampled a few frozen yogurt flavors and they were all delicious. I will definitely be back here to check out the smoothies as they sounded delicious and were massive!

Interesting concept and that’s what intrigued me about this place. Not like other froyo places, this one you pay by the cup and whether or not you want toppings. I got a coupon from here so I figured why not? NOT — super loopholes but whatever, I was going to try it anyway!
The froyo was mediocre. Nothing that blew me away. The toppings were typical. You pretty much pay the same amount for when you pour it yourself. There’s only street parking and it can be difficult as it is Santa Monica. The employees helping me were awkward and I felt like they were watching my every move. Even though I hear their acai bowls and smoothies are tasty, I wasn’t too impressed with their froyo or service so I probably won’t return.

Awesome to have tasti d lite on the west side, this is an East coast favorite, famed for being on Seinfeld and sex in the city (that’s what I was told).
With so many fro-​yo options in town this is by far the best. Better flavors like nutella and lower calories, also an awesome acai bowl. Check it out you won’t be disappointed and far less expensive than yogurtland!

I really loved these «D-​lite-​ful» treats. The flavors are the real thing. If it says oreo it taste like oreo and it really taste like yogurt. I love that you can get as creative with your yogurt for a set price and not worrying about how much it’s all going to weigh in the end.

Smoothies & Froyo — not just dessert but meal replacements too!
Find myself in Santa Monica and had to stop in. Although they have a small assortment of Froyo — what they do have is Tasti! Their Froyo has real natural yogurt taste and not overly sweet. Greek Froyo is my fave but they also have: Pomegranate tart, French vanilla, chocolate pudding, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, peanut butter, Oreos & cream, and chocolate mint! The BEST thing of all is that it’s flat rate. Buy a cup and load it up! Over 24 toppings!
Their smoothies are great too! If you’re looking for a meal replacement meal after the gym, they have lots to choose from. All freshly prepared in front of you with real ingredients!
Great service too! Everyone is very helpful and friendly!
