The Georgian Hotel

Woke up here once after my wife left me do to my drinking! The staff was nice and gave me directions on how to get back to culver city! Am confident I will return!

Solid place with great service. It may not be a luxury hotel, but it is very comfortable, clean and located in a great spot.
We were happy on our brief stay here and feel it’s a great option for a traveler on a budget.

Perfect brunch. Unobstructed ocean view. Perfect service by Mehra. She greeted us with such a big smile and warmth, we felt like a long lost relative. We will definitely be back.

It feels like coming home, same staff as last time, so nice and service minded! This time I got a fantastic room, 702, with the most amazing ocean view!
The continental breakfast is just enough, fresh fruit, juice, coffee, and toast!
Valet parking works fantastic!

Lovely, charming hotel. The staff is friendly and bends over backwards to accommodate. We had an ocean view room with views of the Santa Monica pier to the south and the beautiful coastline to the north. The room was well appointed and comfortable with a feel of stepping back in time. We have stayed at Lowes and JW here in Santa Monica and this by far was the best experience for the price. If you are nostalgic and want to experience Santa Monica at its best I highly recommend the Georgian!

This is a great hotel with history but I have to say the service/​staff were not consistent and the facility is old. As another review pointed out, one elevator broke down and the housekeeping, guests, bell service were all using only one elevator. Elevator wait was average 4−5mims. When I was checking out, there was nobody to help me carry my 2 luggages and 2 bags to go down 2 sets of stairs from the elevator to the car outside. I am sure most of $ 400/​night goes to the location but I would expect more consistent service. If you are in a hurry or business trip, you will get frustrated here. The food at the veranda café was excellent. Perfect place to have breakfast, have coffee and watch people.

Was booked at the Georgian for two nights, but after one night we checked out.
Cons: The room was the smallest hotel room I’ve ever been in, paper think walls with a screaming toddler across the hall, construction noise started at 630am and construction dust gave me a severe allergic reaction. The mattress was old and extremely uncomfortable, and the tiny outdated bathroom was seriously from the 1950s… moldy and gross. Our window overlooked the alley and dumpsters, which smelled of trash. The valet was extremely rude and disrespectful — had the nerve to call us names and talk crap about us IN FRONT OF OUR FACES and assume we didn’t speak Spanish. Rude and racist.
Pros: awesome location and interesting historic hotel. The breakfast was amazing and looked out at the ocean. I’d return for food, but would never stay here again.
All in all, don’t waste your money staying overnight at this place. Come for the food and view and stay at a hotel that respects you and is comfortable — this offers neither.

Came in for a late night drink, just around 10 pm on Saturday. The waiter waived us off as it was ‘closed’ … He was nice enough to let us stay for a glass of wine which was perfect for us. Thanks for the accommodation.
We love sitting on the deck and people watching while chatting and having a drink. Perfect spot for that

I’ll give this place another go. My friend and I went a few months ago and I wasn’t happy but they comped me so I’ll be taking my lady here tonight.

Well, lovely and small setting facing Santa Monica beach (across the street). There are only a few tables.
If you like people watching or traffic watch, or intend to dress up and to be watched by others in this hipster town, this is your spot. I know… so vain… Isn’t that what Santa Monica is all about? I came here for a casual breakfast/​brunch, had a bowl of fruit with yogurt. The quality and taste were average. Price is fair. The sunny or shaded spots are really designed for a typical tourist town… If you and your company have a great conversation, then it’s all very pleasant. If not, you are inevitably looking at everyone and everything moving on the street… Some brings a book to read, some act like they are doing some work on laptops… Some checks his or her phones non-​stop. Just a regular day on the beach front of LA.
The hotel is of course elegant and stylish. The staffs are very English gentry types. If you are not a hotel guest, I suggest parking on the lot on 2^nd street.

We only had one nite away from our 20mo to celebrate our 15^th anniversary. It had been a dream of mine to stay at The Georgian for the past 5yrs upon coming to LA. Finally got a chance. I was extremely pleased beyond expectation. I love the new and old charm that new hotels do not have. From customer service to the plush bed… everything was excellent!

This hotel is awesome. Right in front of Santa Monica Pier. The rooms are very clean, the staff is super nice and helpful. Very comfy beds ! This is my second time staying here and would stay Again !

I had high expectations for this place but was sorely disappointed. Aside from location and free Wi-​Fi there are little pros I can think of. You can easily walk to Santa Monica beach/​pier and 3^rd street promenade in 10 minutes, which was awesome.
The entry way is not stroller/​wheelchair friendly. This was not a huge problem as the staff were generally very quick to assist. The issues we did experience that made it undesirable… I requested a crib and mini fridge and the front desk appeared to be very accommodating. An hour prior to check in, I called again to confirm they would have this ready since we had a late check in and my little one was already asleep. Unfortunately, these two items were not waiting for us but were quickly brought into our room shortly after we checked in. This was OK but the fridge was not cold so it defeated the purpose for the 1^st nights stay.
There were also issues with the elevators. Both were out during our stay so we had to hike up and down to the 7^th floor with all of our baby gear in narrow stairways with no AC. The next day one elevator was working but the hotel staff members were also using the elevators so the wait was 15+ minutes. I understand staff needing to use the elevators if they had things to haul up and down but there were a few instances where the doors would open and staff members were not hauling anything. Shouldn’t guests get first priority and staff be asked to use stairs while the hotel had maintenance issues?
On our final day we received a note that they were replacing carpets and needed access to our rooms. As we were planning to check out that day, I asked to not be disturbed and this was respected. However, it only made the elevator situation worse. The contractors and staff constantly tied up the elevators and this was just unacceptable.
The noise level was a bit problematic. I could clearly hear the neighbors’ conversation as well as street noise. The AC was adequate but not particularly cool for the unseasonably warm weather. All in all, the location is fabulous but there was much to be desired with the facility.

What a cute boutique hotel with an amazing location and outstanding service. Personalized service, nice amenities. Breakfast on the from patio is not only good but such a great way tomatoey the day only steps from the beach. Definitely coming back to this spot.

Great location, amazing and helpful staff, we stayed 4 nights in the ocean view suite and were pleasantly surprised, love the art deck ambiance and old world feel, room was big and comfy, yes, could use some updates but still, will be back!

I LOVE this hotel. Staff are awesome. Thank you! Yes, it costs $ to stay, but it’s worth it. This is LA & the location is on the beach. The suite is just amazing. The Georgian is an old hotel with an old restaurant and the menu is basic but good. You can find old people and tourists feeling comfortable on their outdoor seating with views of the Santa Monica pier and beach.
There are two reasons why you should come eat here: french toast and beach views.
If you are lucky you will get a crazy foreign (has accent) waitress that will make you feel like you are in the movie «Clue», otherwise there is very nice staff.

For the past several years this is one of our regular breakfast stops in West Los Angeles. We love the view of the ocean and the Santa Monica Pier while enjoying their French Toast Soufflé.

This would normally be a 4 star rating for us, until our last visit when we had an issue with a credit card stolen while it was parked in valet, which was used up the road to purchase gift cards at a restaurant before we were even done with our breakfast. The bank called as we were leaving.

Dinner with some friends on a Thursday night. Quiet, no reservations needed. Waitress was very attentive, had recommendations for entrée’s, topped up our water etc. food was delicious! The mini Monte cristo sandwiches are so good! I can have that as a breakfast or brunch item like french toast. The pork medallions with peas and capers was very good too. The drinks were strong and tasty, brown bourbon and the daiquiri.
Price is pretty high, once in a while for a special occasion would be nice and romantic!

Overall, The Georgian Hotel is a 3 – 4 star hotel with a 5++ location.
After hunting around on Unilocal for a nice Santa Monica hotel to take my wife away for her birthday I settled on the Georgian. With a location between the Pier and 3^rd Street Promenade you can’t go wrong, and the views of the beautiful Pacific are incredible.
Valet parking was a bit confusing because Ocean Drive is very busy and there were no employees available to take our car. We got it sorted and went into the lobby to check in. Theo at the front desk was nice. Not super nice, but not a cold jerk either. We had to wait a bit because he was the ONLY one serving all the arriving guests. They really needed 2 or more people working the desk. The night shift had two super nice ladies, however.
We got to our room on the 2^nd floor. The size was fine for two of us. It was clean and despite our view of the neighboring wall we were satisfied. The room included a iHome alarm clock (with the old power plug), a coffee maker, a mini bar, a hair drier, bathrooms, etc. Nice amenities but be careful with the chips and drinks because if you pick them up a sensor auto-​charges you. The bed was comfortable and we didn’t have any issues with noise.
Overall, a wonderful stay and we would return. 4 stars!
