The Line

I’ve been going to Monica for a few years now, probably about four. It took me forever to find someone to deal with my curly hair and give a fantastic blow out when I first moved to LA six year ago. She is the real deal, in my opinion if you can cut curly hair you can cut any hair. And did I mention the blow out? I’m sorry, but the blow out bars just don’t cut it for me, they cannot handle blowing out hair that is curly and frizzy. When I leave Monica’s chair after a blow out, it’s soft and bouncy with no kinks whatsoever. It also lasts at least 4 days.
Monica is also friendly and just a pleasure to be around — again super important since you should have a good relationship with your stylist!
The Line itself is a small salon in Salon Republic in Samo, and the space is bright, airy and relaxing — I now have shorter hair and need to come more often, it’s always a treat!

brelynn is amazing and listens and gives you exactly what you want. the salon is so relaxing to be in… everyone gets along and they are all happy and it creates an amazing environment! love love love this salon and brelynn is brilliant with hair :)

Gillian is awesome, hands down, the best stylist I’ve ever been to. It’s hard to find someone that knows how to cut and color, Gillian has mastered both of those. I always walk out of her salon with a big smile on my face.
I’m so glad that she has opened her own place in Santa Monica, it’s a very comfortable, intimate and friendly salon. I feel very relaxed and welcomed here unlike other salons where I’ve felt rushed and anxious to get out of there mainly because of the loud music, stylist running around different people handling my hair.

I’ve been going to Gillian for a few years now and not even a recent move to the east side could keep me from going back. Not only is she — and this is important — fun to spend three hours with, but my hair has never been this awesome. Beautiful, natural, full highlights, and a cut that’ll last me many more months than I should (really) let it go.

I have been going to see Monica for four or five years now and I won’t go anywhere else for cut, color and — now, more and more, grey cover-​up.
She is such a great listener and she knows how to work with my thick, sometimes curly, sometimes wavy hair. I will keep seeing Monica because she is great with color and cut! Love her! The real test is the style as it grows out. Color is perfect, without a line, and the cut somehow gets better with time.
The Line is easy to find, parking is easy and the space is comfortable.

Been going to Gillian for years and I trust her eye and she is wonderful. I recommend her if you’re looking to get a cut or highlights or searching for a new look that’s right for you and you’d be comfortable and happy with! I always get compliments with my hair, so I know she’s doing something right!

I have been going to breylynn gonsales for several years. She’s a great hairstylist. Great for men’s haircuts, reliable, friendly, works hard to fit me in even at the last minute. Cool space in Santa Monica, nice salon.

Gillian is amazing! I brought her a picture to work off of, and she performed a miracle. I have naturally really straight, fine hair, and she cut and styled it so now it has body and texture. She really listens to what you want, and takes into consideration your daily routine. I would absolutely recommend Gillian to anyone looking for an amazing stylist. You won’t be disappointed!

Curly hair girls can have fun too at the Line — where it’s not all about straight, smooth lines. If you go to Gillian she’ll put squiggly lines in your hair that make your curls bounce and feel so fresh and sassy.
Gillian has been my stylist for 8 years… and I didn’t say hairdresser for a reason… because the girl has mad style! She’ll make your hair cooler than any picture you bring into her.
She did my hair for my wedding, and I didn’t even bother giving her pictures for inspiration, because none seemed like me or unique. I just trusted her to do her thing on a whim and she put me in a curly up-​do, that felt like me on my wedding day!
Almost forgot to mention… that I fly down to LA every few months just to get my haircut. Her cuts last so long and always grow out well. So it’s totally worth it!

I’ve been going to Monica for quite a few years now and she is the best hairstylist that I’ve ever been to. She is perfect at catering to any hairstyle and hair type. And I’m top of that The service is amazing too. when you get your hair shampooed and conditioned you also get an amazing scalp massage and a hot towel for your face if you want.

I have been going to Brelynn for over 5 years. She is an amazing hair stylists and I am so happy I found her. Her new location is great and I love how they have so many snacks and drinks for clients. The salon definitely knows how to make their clients feel special and appreciated. If you ladies want the perfect Ombré go see Brelynn. My husband also goes to her for his haircuts. For years he went to random barber shops or supercuts but once I found her and once my husband got his hair cut by her he refuses to go to anyone else! I recommend her to everyone I know!

I have been going to Brelynn now for just about two years. I found her through a recommendation, as I was very much needing a trusted and talented stylist. I had always bounced around from salon to salon, so when I found Brelynn I was thrilled! After my first cut with her, it was hands down the best haircut I ever had. Not only is she a warm, positive and friendly person, but she is very talented and really cares about her customers. She left the salon I originally started going to, but I HAD to follow her wherever she went. I just had my first cut with her at The Line and love the new location, warm and cozy. Can’t wait to go back!

I’ve got hair that grows like a Chia pet and very little time to take care of it. I get it cut, but it’s been looking a little ragged for a while. Gillian gave me the perfect cut, and I swear my hair has never looked as good. The edges are soft and feather without looking wispy or jagged, my bangs are razor sharp, and she cut enough hair off that it looks totally healthy without me feeling shorn.
