We were running to water polo and my 11 year old son informed me his suit had
hole in it. Of course, on the way to practice. I was going to head to Big 5, but I
wanted to try this place out before to look for swim gear and I prefer to support
a local business. They have a large selection of suits and gear, the lady who was
working that Sunday was very helpful and gave me good advice regarding goggles.
The extra $ 5 dollar goggle fit his face better and they do not leak at all. Thanks I wll
be back.

Very bad customer service. Will not purchase from him again .
Got my son a swimsuit that was one size too small for him after the guy that worked there insisted that that’s his size and that I should NOT get bigger size .
after one use my son head deep marks on his legs and during his swimming class he
Was distracted by the tightness of it and it bothered him the all time .
When I went back the same guy was there with the owner and the owner was arguing with me and was super rude and was not willing to exchange the suit.

Great customer service, exceeded my expectations. I will be returning here in the future. The shop had a great selection of swim gear and suits.

I can not thank Michael enough he was GREAT! This was my 1^st year being in charge of designing and ordering swimsuits for my daughters high school team. I had no idea what I was doing but with his help I got it done. He walked me through every step. He answered every question and concern he was quick with answers. I highly recommend this company to any swimmer or swim team.

After stopping in 3 places to find a suit I went little out of my way for my final stop to find a reasonably priced suit that would also last. So glad I stopped here! Both the owner and employee helped to find a suite that would fit. I was pretty set on getting a slightly bigger one and they told me although that would get me back in the store buying another one sooner, they would not let me purchase something that was not right for me. They made sure I picked something that would last a longer period of time. I tried a bunch on and the helped pick the right one for me!
They were so knowledgable about the different suits, fabrics, and what I would need for the amount I swim. I will definitely be back.

I was in LA from out of town and based on the Unilocal reviews, specifically had this store on my list as I was in need of an XXS suit at a reasonable cost. I hadn’t paid attention to the 11AM opening time and when I knocked on the door, the owner graciously opened the store 30 minutes early for me. He then proceeded to help me select a two suits that fit correctly out of about 10 I tried on. The selection far exceeded what I had been able to find in Northern California and the prices were extremely reasonable. For those looking for small suits (he even had 24s and 26s), look no further. He has years in the business, knows his stuff, and is willing to work with the customer to ensure that you leave with the right thing. I will definitely be back!

The guy is a real jerk. He wouldn’t accept the return of a pair of goggles he recommended to me the day before. They leaked and I only tried them for two laps. I was not happy but I could have understood had he been nice about it. Instead he went kind of psycho on me. I was shocked because he seemed friendly enough when I bought them and even gave me a defogger wipe but when I tried to return them he just flipped out.
I actually told him he was a ‘dick’ which I felt bad about afterward but I can see from reviews below I am not the only one who feels that way.

I love The Swim Guy they have amazing prices and a large selection. They were very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. We’ll be back next time we need swimwear.

My friend’s daughter needed a competition swimsuit. and fast! I sent her to The SwimGuy! She received GREAT service from Craig. He was knowledgeable about her swimwear needs as he has been in the garment business for over 25 years. If you take your chances somewhere else… that’s what you’ll be doing. taking your chances! She found what she needed at a great price. yay!

I love this place! It is rare to still come across a business where the employees are engaged with thier customers, and the owners The guys (and gals) at THE SWIM GUY are awesome! Everyone there is knowledgeable on the suits, fabrics, and team goings’ on.

Today I had the misfortune of having to deal with Mike, the Owner of this establishment. I needed to purchase a swimsuit for my daughter’s high school swim team. Apparently the window for this closed 3 weeks ago. Instead of informing me of this fact in a professional manner, this man acted as if I had asked him to move heaven and earth. He treated me with complete disrespect, and became verbally aggressive. I was shocked at his outburst. All I wanted to do was order a swimsuit, and I was met with outrageous insults. I could not believe that this was the owner I was forced to deal with. It is completely incomprehensible how this pathetic man who is so clearly consumed with self-​loathing has managed to stay in business for so long. After this incident, I almost felt sorry for him.
If you need to buy a swimsuit, I would suggest trying
. I ordered the exact same suit for a few dollars more than it would have cost at the store, even after factoring in shipping. Oh, and my daughter will have the suit before the rest of her team. Mike, if I was constantly losing business to websites with superior selection and customer service, I would try to be nicer so as not to scare of the meagre business that might be coming your way. Pathetic!

Today was the first time I’ve ever gone in, and I went with a recommendation from a friend of mine who swims on both a club team and school team. I didn’t need any competitive wear, just suits and supplies for a new PE unit. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a quirky employee, but she was extremely knowledgeable and gave me a ton of informative recommendations and it made me feel much more comfortable, especially since I was in there only for recreational swimming. All in all it was a great experience; I’ll definitely be coming back.

What a rude and disrespectful owner! I will never spend another dollar here and I just spent $ 300 for my daughter’s swim team. They misspelled her name on the team bag and then gave ME a lecture on how it was not his fault. What a jerk!

I’ve been to the redondo beach store which I love and am so happy to find the swim guy in the west side. Absolute best selection at the best prices! Oh and Craig who is the swim guy and one of the owners is the best !

Ok, I’ve never set foot in their store. But, I’ve placed «emergency» orders for my daughter’s team over the phone with a credit card.
They also handle the school’s team suits and jammers and warm ups. Great prices and great service for groups.

Craig is very helpful and friendly and made great suggestions on gear. This is my go-​to place for swim stuff.

This place has an ok selection and price accordingly. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive but the owner.
