From the moment I walked into the store, I was treated like a queen. Adam is amazing, and really knows how to dress a woman. His assistant who’s name I unfortunately didn’t catch was lovely as well. When I walked in, I was wearing a design from Camilla Australia. I’ve been craving more designs like hers, but she doesn’t ship to the states, and as much as I’d love to go back to Australia, I’m not going for a dress. Lol. This store had a very similar dress that fit me so well! I had to have it! Adam and showed me the dress in different patterns, and really took his time with me. I felt like I had a personal shopper and a personal dresser all in one. I would give them by business any time. Fantastic shop.

Let me preface that with saying our wedding is a small affair, mostly just family at a home in West Hollywood, casual in the private backyard. Not like we are renting out the Ritz Carlton or something.
I didn’t have it in mind to buy my wedding dress here or anything, it just happened I was beating the heat of a 100 degree afternoon in Hollywood by heading to Santa Monica with my dog and get some shopping and ocean breeze in before I chocked to death in the Hwood heat wave.
This was the first store I bothered going in on the 3^rd street Promenade. I was drawn in by a white dress they had in the window, did a double take, kept walking, then turned around and double backed. Just in case!
They didn’t mind that I brought my 8 lb dog in with me, but I threw him in my bag as I usually do when I enter a store, just to keep him out of the way of dog haters. It’s a small store, but has really eclectic, unique items, sort of bohemian. As I was eying the white dress the man who I later found out was the owner was saying how great the dress was and he said it in a way that made you believe it. He was sincere sounding, very unlike a lot of places where they push for high-​pressure sales and they won’t leave you alone. I usually beat this tactic with wearing my headphones and making no eye contact with the sales staff but it wasn’t necessary in Undercover.
He offered to start me a dressing room, but I’m pretty easy– if I like it I don’t feel like trying it on, let’s just get it. I bought the dress, he saved me a few dollars off the price and I signed his guestbook. He was very personable and very nice, and did I mention hot?
So, luckily, I got the dress home it fits and I’m going to wear it for the wedding, not bad for an $ 85 wedding dress, who can say they got that great of a deal? It wasn’t exactly the traditional, invite your mother and mother in law and friends and have champagne trying on dresses type of thing, but that’s not me, so here I was dog in bag, dress in bag, off I go!
It’s not actually meant to be a wedding dress, but it’s white and long, close enough. When I got home I looked up the store and found out the owner is this guy Alex who is designer/​stylist/​owner with high profile clients like Eva Longoria, Jessica Beil, Brooke Burke, and a long list of others have called on Adam to get them ready for the red carpet. He even worked on MTV’s «Singled Out», god do you remember that show? It was ridiculous but entertaining as hell.
Anyway, the place was perfect for what I was looking for and the service was great. Try finding that at a wedding dress store, I swear I was attacked with ladies when checking one out, throwing mermaid poufy tacky dresses at me. I couldn’t deal.

I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 13 years and last night was the first time I went in. I’ve always seen it but just assumed it was too expensive for me. The «hot dresses in here, not hot dresses over there» sign drew me in (who doesn’t want a hot dress)! The dresses are absolutely beautiful and high quality… from Sunday brunch to hot night on the town. Adam the owner does a wonderful job of finding dresses for all body types and styles. Don’t expect to go in there and buy a dress for Forever 21 prices but you won’t be paying Hollywood prices either. Besides unique, gorgeous dresses, Adam is also very honest. He will tell you if something doesn’t fit right or you need a different size. And he’s not pushy — he just wants you to be happy and feel beautiful. I walked out so pleased with my experience and purchase. Can’t wait to go back and buy a new dress soon.

Undercover boutique is easy to pass by without much thought as it looks like every other women’s boutique on 3^rd street, but if you go into the store and take a look around you will find that you stumbled into a gem. They have an amazing selection of absolutely stunning dresses that are high quality and not off the wall expensive! Adam the store owner was sweet and helpful and helped me pick out several dresses… Best part was he wasn’t pushy at all!
This is the perfect place to hit up if you have a special occasion or simply just need to update your wardrobe!

I almost hate to let everyone in on the secret, but the owner and the staff are so awesome I really want the best for them so I’m going to let you all in on the best kept secret in Santa Monica. Undercover Boutique is awesome.
They have the best selection of dresses — yes, the store is a bit small, but it is filled with the prettiest, sexiest, most unique items. Apparently the owner is friends with some of the designers and gets to pick out his favorite pieces from the showrooms — and he has impeccable taste. I never see these dresses in other stores or on other women around town — you’ll feel like what you are buying is one of a kind.
Even better than the killer inventory, are the sales people. I’ve been in a few times now and bless their hearts, they were so helpful and patient and had tons of good suggestions — and they were honest — they told me when a dress didn’t look good on me — they weren’t just trying to make a sale, they were trying to help me make the best choice.
They sell this really cool dress that can be worn three different ways and is super flattering on ANYONE. They have it in a ton of colors and patterns and it’s really affordable at about $ 100. Every girl should have at least one in her closet.

LOVE this store! Amazing customer service — staff is super friendly and helpful. They have a HUGE selection of up-​to-​date dresses (everything from casual to sexy to formal), and they have unbeatable prices. You will not regret coming here. This place is a gem!!!

I used to love Undercover Boutique but I was shocked and appalled when I saw a outfit made out of REAL FUR displayed in the window today. I confirmed it with the salesperson and let her know that I can’t buy from a store which sells real animal fur. She was really polite and told me that she would tell management. PLEASE stop SELLING REAL ANIMAL FUR so I can buy from your store again!!! Please DO NOT SUPPORT a store which sells real fur as well!
P. S. I realize that most people do not agree with me (judging from the amount of furs I’ve been seeing lately) and I’ve heard all sorts of arguments (cave men wore furs… be like a Eskimo and use all of the animal we eat… you’re a hypocrite if you’re not a vegan and wear leather… but I oppose wearing fur because of the inhumane treatment of animals in the industry. There are plenty of good faux-​furs available if you’re into that!

This is my go-​to place when I want a hot, unique, jaw-​dropping sexy dress. (They have other stuff there too, but it’s my party dress spot!) I was recently in a beauty pageant, and we were required to purchase a short, white dress for the opening number. I got my white dress from this store, and all anyone could talk to me about after the pageant was the gorgeous lace-​up back of my white dress!!!
I’ve recently been having a fiasco where my bridesmaid dress for a wedding doesn’t fit, and I need a dress for the wedding party so I can dance in it (I can suck it up in a ill-​fitting bridesmaid dress for the ceremony, but I can’t party and enjoy myself the rest of the night in it!) I needed a new dress pronto because the wedding is a week away! I called the store to find out how late is was open, and the salesperson, Cindy, asked me what I was looking for– which I think is very considerate, because then I wouldn’t have to go if they didn’t have what I needed. I told her what I was looking for, and she said they had a bunch of options. She also reminded me that it was the day of the LA Marathon, and told me the best way to get there from my house (because some roads were closed off), and a parking structure she recommends.
I went into the store and the first dress I tried on fit me like a dream. They recommended a bracelet to go with it, which was too expensive for me, so they found one that was perfect for about $ 15.
Incredible service, plus beautiful and well-​made dresses!
I’d give this place more stars if I could!!!

This place is GREAT!
I was here for Labor Day Weekend (yes, I’m behind on my Unilocaling, but better late than never). As I was strolling around the 3^rd Street Promenade, I just happened to walk into Undercover.
As soon as I stepped inside, I was greeted by Adam, the owner. I told him I was just browsing, and he immediately picked up some fabulous pieces he thought would look great on me. Adam and his staff were so helpful and so creative. I even told them how much I could spend, and they were so cool to grab pieces that didn’t break my bank. Super fashionable, amazing one-​of-​a kind finds. For sure, I won’t see anyone wearing these clothes when I go out. The clothes are simply fabulous finds for reasonable prices.

Now, I’m not a shopper by any means. In fact, I really don’t care to shop for clothes – just way too stressful and things never fit! But if every experience was like this, I would gladly make the effort.
Undercover, I dig ya. Won’t be long before the next time I’m in LA…
