Now in our 22nd year, Writers Boot Camp’s approach to teaching the Tools and process necessary for the full development of film and TV writers and their scripts has evolved from its original Basic Training course — emphasizing first-draft productivity — to a focus on Professional Membership. Our alumni success stories include nominations and recipients of Oscars™, Emmys, Golden Globes, WGA awards, and the Tony award.
History
Established in 1989.
Writers Boot Camp teaches unique Tools and a process for the conceptualization, outlining and writing of film and TV scripts. In the 22 years we’ve been teaching, our alumni have written screenplays that have brought in more than ¾ of a BILLION dollars in Box Office, and have created or been staffed as writers on 100 different TV shows.
They’ve been nominated for Academy Awards, won Emmys, Golden Globes, WGA awards, the Tony award and have had A-list success.
Whether just looking to write a first draft, or to elevate material to professional level, all you need is 10 hours a week to substantially improve your projects, and your process.
We work with each writer individually even in classroom settings, although in addition to live classes in Santa Monica and NYC, we’ve worked in Online coursework with writers in 35 states and 13 countries, all who have the goal of writing at a more professional level, and mastering a process for the rest of their career.

Meet the Business Owner
Jeffrey G.
Business Owner
Born and raised in Chicago, Jeffrey Gordon’s interest in writing led him from the University of Illinois rhetoric program to L.A. In 1989, during his last semester of the Peter Stark Motion Picture Producing Program at USC Film School, Jeff created the unique screenwriting tools for the first session of Writers Boot Camp held in his living room with 7 writers. Soon after, having set up the spec feature RUBICON as a producer — with Arnold Schwarzenegger attached — that experience and development process led him to expand Writers Boot Camp.
Members learn nearly 100 specific Tools and benchmarks for the full development of features, TV scripts and writing. Offering both short and long-term Live classes and Online education, Writers Boot Camp’s alumni have won or been nominated for Academy Awards, Golden Globes, Emmys, WGA awards and the Tony award. Jeff is also an acclaimed moderator on a variety of topics, has also supported numerous and various philanthropies throughout the years.
