A-1 Mini Storage

I’ve been with A-​1 for over two years and I’ve had only good experiences. They are kind and helpful, and the facility itself is clean. It’s probably because I’ve paid all my bills on time, but I’ve never had any problems with the management or the employees.

i will never ever rent from this storage place or refer anybody they are lyers and they rip u off and add there own locks for no damn reason then when u move out they charge you for the entire month again and tell u that you cut there lock that there employee came and unlocked for us with no damn explanation ad to why there look was on there to begin with. i pay my bills faithfully and there lock should not have been on there in the first place so the tweeker looking guy on the golf cart that works there is a liar and a smart allic and i’m being charged for moving out they are scammed and should be sued and shit down. from pissed off customer steve w.

I am writing this review as a warning to potential renters. We have had nothing but heartache while having our belongings at this establishment. The management and owners are heartless people that enjoy watching people lose their belongings. When they decide they want to put up a unit for auction they are going to do so no matter what. You can have the money to pay for your unit within a week but if you call and ask if there is any way for them to hold off selling your unit they will proceed to treat you like you are a piece of garbage. They act like they are deeply offended that you would dare ask such a question. It’s simple as a business they are allowed to only give you a few days notice before putting up your unit for auction. They love to throw this fact in your face but I have seen many other storage locations in Sonoma county that are very willing to wait a extra week for payment if it means helping a family to not lose everything. So simply I would suggest you find a place that is run with more compassion.
Our unit goes up for sale this Monday. We simply have belongings that have meaning to us and our teenage daughters treasured items that don’t have meaning or value to anyone else but they will not be happy until they sell it out from under us. We have been homeless and we have been paying our bill but we do get behind. We would have the money in a week but they simply want their money now.
They are heartless cruel people. Just because a business has the right to do something. Just because it’s within their legal rights does not mean they should. Especially when they have always gotten their money from us in the past.
Like I said before there are better places to go that have good rates and that are nice well kept places that are ran in a compassionate manner with managers and owners that will always treat you with respect no matter what walk of life you come from. Take your money elsewhere.

I LOVE THEM!!! Christine is such a wonderful lady & has always been of such great help! I’ve tried different storage places but I’ve stuck with these guy for over 3 years now! Not only are their prices the best I’ve encountered but the people there are extremely friendly & sweet! The storage itself is very clean & some do have lighting but not all.

Worst company ever!!! Did I say worst? Well I mean it!!! If I could give them a million NEGATIVE stars I would. We made reservations three weeks before our move in date which happened to fall on New Years Day. We thought they would be closed on the holiday, as many other businesses were, but when we called and asked they said they were going to be open, which is one of the reasons why we choose them in the first place. When we show up the day of, they told us they were closed. They were in their house and we could see them. We politely asked if they would come out and talk to us but they completely ignored us even though they could see us parked at the gate with a full u-​haul truck. We tried to reason with them but they screamed from their house that what we were saying was complete «bull sh**t» even though we have paperwork which clearly listed our move-​in date. They cost us so much money and time. We would have been done by now, but now we have to move an extra day and anyone who has ever moved knows that moving can be very costly and stressful. Please, please, please don’t use this company. The sooner they go out of business the better the world will be!!!

I posted my original comment in 2010. You’ll note it’s one of only six reviews that show up on the company’s Unilocal page and one of only thirteen total. I have only ever reviewed one business, this one, because my experience with them was so unsatisfactory. Four years after the fact, they posted a comment (since deleted) on my original review that said they had never been sued. I would have let it go but for the implication that I was somehow I was a crazy person who lies in Unilocal reviews for some unknown reason. I updated my review to add the court case #, the dates, and the settlement they gave me. Now they’ve taken down their original comment and claimed they couldn’t see the comment originally, but now they can, and that’s why they’re maligning their customers four years after the fact. Again, it’s one of thirteen total reviews that have ever been posted on their page. Note again that they still haven’t apologized about the situation, but continue to imply it’s my fault somehow. «We’re sorry about what happened and we are trying to do better» or «This happened four years ago and we have done our best to remedy the situation» are both great comments to put on one of these reviews; «This woman is crazy and it was her fault in the first place» demonstrates that my experience is not atypical.

Clean and secure storage facility. Never had a problem with customer service or billing. I’ve been a customer for about a year now. I would give them 5 stars but they do not have lighting in their storage, so if you need to go their at night you need to bring your own. Other than that this place is okay.

Well, as storage facilities go, this one is standard.
The interesting thing about it is that when criminals stash their stolen property in places like this, then go [back] to jail and neglect to pay the monthly storage fee, their unit goes to public auction and can be purchased for as little as $ 50!
Karma, man. Karma.
