America’s Best Value Inn & Suites

This place should be called «Americas worst value». It was the worst hotel I’ve ever gone to. We got a two person hotel room and we were going to have our third person sleep on the floor because they didn’t have a hotel room and the front desk told us that they couldn’t stay because it’s a «fire hazard» which is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard in my life. Then they got mad because our dog was on the premise but he was in the car so they made us move our car with the dog in it to another parking lot. They called the police on us at midnight to kick us out but even the police thought it was crazy. We had to pay for another hotel room the one extra person. Plus the room was old looking. THIS PLACE IS SUCKS AND YOU SHOULD NEVER STAY HERE

Bug, Bugs, Bugs!!! This motel was the dirties place we have ever booked. People need to beware of this motel. We booked this room for two nights and could not even tolerate staying one night. The room smelled like it had never been cleaned. The sheets that were suppose to be white were instead a dingy grey. The bed felt and smelled like it had been recovered from some alley. The bathroom had mold in every nook and cranny. As I sat on the bed, I witnessed bugs crawling on the walls, ceiling, and T.V. My wife even killed a flea that was crawling on her leg. This place was so gross. On top of it all, there were some unsavory characters hanging out in the parking lot, and wouldn’t they, there was no visible security on the premises. Don’t waste your time or money on this place. American Best Value, the name is a misnomer. STAY CLEAR!!!

We wanted to take a trip to Calistoga to enjoy our 7^th anniversary. We booked using
. Some hotels are good deals on online booking but not always.
When we booked the hotel we didn’t realize they would put us in a «smoking» room. For two people with asthma it was not fun. After coming back from fresh air & lovely scenery we smelled smoke & saw several repairs needed. Broken things like a hand rail for the jacuzzi tub. Ps. The jacuzzi jets did not work. Hey wait… we paid extra for that… A spider web was taking over a corner & there was no smoke alarm (is there a law for this even though it is labeled as a «smoking» room?) among other things «off.» Pss don’t eat the continental just go out to eat or bring something with you since they did have a microwave & mini refrigerator. My hubby bit into a bad apple.
Safe to say we will not stay in another America’s Best Value in unless we are desperate. There were better choices on Unilocal for less… why didn’t I look here first?

The only redeeming quality was the bed was really comfy.

The motel itself is nice for the price but I found the staff, the older woman in particular, to be the Wicked Witch of the West, and the place possibly needs to be reported for discrimination. I was stranded here with my daughter and we just needed a place for a night or two until we were able to head back the the East Coast and needed a friend to book for us. I called and told the guy who answered our situation and said a 2^nd party billing was no problem, to just come in and speak to Nigel. When I get there, and as soon as he saw me, he acted like he had no idea what I was talking about, that no Nigel worked there, and that he hadn’t talked to anyone on the phone for about an hour, when the phone number and time of call was right on my phone. Then I have my friend try to book through
, and everything went through fine, and when I went back, the Wicked Witch of the West was there looking at me with sheer contempt and hatred. I realize some people of color do make the rest of us look bad, but I am college educated, self employed, well spoken, and an ordained minister. I told her I had a reservation and the first thing that came out of her mouth was she needed a deposit. I asked what for, and she went on this rant about smoking in the room, as if she automatically assumed this is what I was going to do. I had to call my friend since she was helping me pay because I was in a bind and she was on the phone for the longest time and then she finally got off and checked me in, and kept ranting about not smoking. Then I hung around for a minute while another guy came and checked in immediately after me and she did not ask him for a deposit or anything of the sort. In fact she checked him without any problems at all. I am not encouraging or discouraging anyone from checking them out, because it definitely has its good points. I personally was absolutely disgusted with the way that I was treated there, and the fact that this occurred while my family was in a crisis situation makes it ten times worse. I could barely sleep because its that uncomfortable feeling of staying at someones house who doesn’t want you there. But again, this is just my experience. Thanks for reading!

What an f-​ing hole! I have stayed in some pretty notorious holes, this one takes the cake! Smelly, outdated, and gross! If it weren’t for the attractive women at the desk I would have checked out as quickly as I checked in!

Finally found a decent room on our road trip up the coast after spending an hour reading Unilocal reviews of other terrible motels. We were pleasantly surprised to find this hotel so nice for the price (got a nice deal $ 79.99)! The bathroom was clean and recently upgraded. Bed was very comfortable. Hotel seemed to be in a much nicer area than other price comparable hotels we were considering. Would stay here again, and the lady at the front desk was very hospitable. Over all great experience!
(Only downfall were the stained carpets, but we just kept our flip flops on while in the room.)

We needed a not too expensive place to stay while looking for a more permanent place to live after my husband got a new job in the area. I was a bit hesitant to book a room here due to previous reviews but I took a leap of faith and booked it for 8 days. We are on day two and I have to say it’s not that bad. Room is your basic hotel room with mini fridge, microwave, bathroom, hairdryer, iron and board. Granite tile on the vanity and as the baseboards in the bathroom are a nice touch. Plus… Starbucks within walking distance.
Book directly with the hotel and avoid the hassle with booking websites…

I’d like to review this hotel I paid for, but I can’t because I didn’t actually stay there. Don’t get me wrong, I PAID for it, because there was a good deal on priceline and according to their local listings on reputable sites like TripAdvisor and Unilocal,they accept pets. Which contrary to their ‘we can’t control what people write’ argument they DO HAVE CONTROL over and could dispute and have these fallasies corrected. I had been driving forever from Portland to San Fran and just needed a place for me and my dog to rest before hitting the city.
Unfortunately, when I arrived after having booked and paid for it, there was a sign in the lobby that said no pets. No pets — and no refund. Not from Priceline (hotel said it’s their problem) and not from the hotel. (Priceline said it’s their problem). No one would take responsibility for this mistake and I was out money I really couldn’t afford to just throw away. Money which was NOTHING to them.
I easily spent 2 – 3 hours of my time pleading my case to both. The woman behind the desk even told me she saw that Priceline had the information wrong — but since they were out 30% to priceline, OH WELL. (30% = about $ 10.00 to them, mind you.)
This two star hotel (which blows my mind that they won’t take pets) preferred to deny me even a credit to stay in the future and didn’t care at all about a bad customer service review. So here it is.
Do NOT try to stay here if you have a pet. Even if it appears across the board that they accept them.
What a great way for them to make money and keep the room clean. I got taken advantage of and had to pay for ANOTHER hotel in the area — I should have just stayed in expensive San Fran.

Booked on priceline and didn’t think to specify we’d need a non smoking room. Got to the front desk and were told we had a smoking room and we would need to pay $ 20 plus tax to upgrade to a non smoking one. We were finally given a non smoking corner room but had to take a smaller bed.
Room is tight and TV doesn’t work. Bed is fine enough enough and clean. Hoping to have quiet tonight. Overall disappointed with the price we paid for the room.

For the price I paid, $ 127, I was very disappointed with this motel. From the description on their website, it sounded a lot better. The room was small, and it was the last room available, and it was a smoking room. We have been spoiled by smoke-​free hotels, and I didn’t think to book a non-​smoking room. The smoke residue was unpleasant and irritating.
This room, 212, had a window which was in a hallway — very dark. The room did have a refrigerator and microwave as advertised, but the closet was a rack in the bathroom with 2 hangers.
The carpet in the room was visibly dirty and there were cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling.
The continental breakfast was mostly gone well before the advertised closing time. We got the last bagel and last egg.
One plus — the woman who checked us out spent some time showing us where to go for wineries on a free map.
Next time I am in Santa Rosa I will explore Courtyard by Marriott, Hilton Garden Inn, and similar hotels. I think I would not have to pay much more than I paid for this dump.

I’m torn between two and three stars on this one. I stayed here because I needed an inexpensive place for the night, but something a little nicer than Motel 6 (I’ve stayed at both of the Motel 6’s in Santa Rosa, and they’re both just awful).
The pros: It’s clean. No cigarette smell like at Motel 6 (EVERY Motel 6). Lots of room amenities, like shampoo and conditioner and hand lotion and an ironing board and I think there was a microwave. Great shower, with cool soap and shampoo dispensers. Direct TV with a LOT of channels.
The cons: Paper-​thin walls. Lying in bed at 1 AM, I could hear three different conversations from three different locations, and none of them were from people speaking overly loudly. The bed was not very comfortable — I could feel springs poking me.
So, even though they have a lot going for them, they failed to deliver on the two most important things: quiet and comfort.

Excellent value and a high degree of professionalism. A very good place to stay if you’re attending any kind of event in the Santa Rosa, CA, area.

3 stars is about right.
We stayed here this past weekend because of the location and it was affordable. It worked out fine.
I think the place was recently updated with fresh paint and siding.
The room was clean, tidy. No issues at all. The shower was nice, good water pressure. Our room has a microwave and fridge.
We might stay here again if we are in a pinch.
I didn’t care for the continental breakfast. Kind of garbage.

Amenities: microwave, refrigerator, direcTV, nice local soaps, and coffee. The room was nice, clean, with pleasant furnishings. The place is owned by a very nice, accommodating family. This Inn is a great value for the money!
There’s a Starbucks that’s open late and opens early within walking distance, too.
p. s.: whoever set the satellite to all religious channels, plus Fox News, is awesome! I got a huge laugh after going through 15 consecutive spiritual channels! (just use the guide if you hunger for regular channels)

Pros: Not far off the free way. $ 55.00 on expedia. Large bed. Adequate size hotel room for a couple. Pretty view of vineyards and hills.
Cons: Older and the décor looks very 1990. To stay an extra night (not booked through expedia) it was 79.00 non negotiable. Non-​smoking room but people smoked right outside so it’s pointless because it came right in. and my biggest CON is I called the front desk to ask for a razor and while on the phone with me she answered her cell phone said FUCK YOU and hung up on the person on the phone and then started talking to me again. WHAT THE EFF? Classy dame!

We stayed here during Easter weekend. We stayed two nights. We arrived very late… about 2:00 a.m. in the morning on Saturday, April 7^th, but the clerk was very friendly and polite, even though it was obvious that I had woken her to check us in. On the day of our check out we had forgotten my daughter’s favorite blanket and some jewelry in our room. We cam back about three hours after checking out and the house keeping person gladly had kept our blanket and jewelry and returned it to us. We’ve stayed at other places in the past that would have kept the jewelry and thrown away the blanket, so it was very nice that our belongings were available. We will definitely stay here again when visiting friends in Santa Rosa!

This hotel says that it is pet friendly, however they are not truly. When you leave your room they require that your pet be caged. Come on, really? I think that anyone who asks this of a pet owner has never been a pet owner or has a heart made of ice. You lost my business — I went to another hotel in town. I don’t care how inexpensive you are it will not compensate for how you require pets to be treated.

This is an economy level hotel (formerly a Ramada or possibly in the same family), that definitely needs to be kept in mind. It’s on the older side, has a little thinner walls than newer ones, and not quite as nicely appointed. But all in all, it has been maintained well and is relatively in clean and in good shape — it does show it’s age here and there. The bed comfort is most likely my worst complaint, but then I tend to be a little bit of a bed snob. Some of the perks were free wireless, pool, and cont. breakfast. We didn’t get into the pool since we were wine touring during the heat of the day. The breakfast was basic — toast, bagel, hard boiled egg, mini muffin, coffee, oj.
We came to the Sonoma area for wine touring trip on a small budget. Going in, we new the hotel was going to be on the low end, so I wasn’t appalled in anyway with it’s conditions or comfort. For five nights at a bit over $ 300, it served it’s purpose.
