Atlas Heating and Air Conditioning

We definitely recommend Atlas. We had Atlas install a new all electric ducted mini-​split system from Daikin back in May and they have been so great at making sure that this fairly new (to the U.S.) type of system is running the way we want it to. We were thinking about going with all electric knowing that we will go solar soon but we were still a little uncertain about moving away from a traditional gas HVAC product. After talking with Ryan and having him and Rhonda (the owners) provide several quotes for us for various products and configurations (they were very patient) we went with the ducted mini-​split because of the potential for solar, the high efficiency, the ability to have two (or more) zones and use our existing ducts and vents. Speaking of quotes, we found Atlas’ pricing to be very competitive and without the sales pressure we felt from a larger local competitor. Fair warning, being a newer type of system, it wasn’t as straight forward to install and setup but like I said, Ryan went to some pretty great lengths to make sure we got a system that runs and operates the way we wanted. He even came back and upgraded our thermostats to the Daikin ENVi model, which I highly recommend to anyone, after we were disappointed with the the stock remote thermostats. Our experience with Ryan, Rhonda, and their technician, also named Ryan, who helped with the install was excellent. They were all really friendly, professional, helpful, responsive, tidy and obviously committed to making sure we were happy with the product and service.

We used Atlas 3 years ago when we first moved to our new home. They checked our furnace, and recommended a solution to the acidic outflow which was damaging an outside walkway. We were very happy with their service then and with their pricing.
We had recently fallen for a «free inspection» by another Santa Rosa company which was, in fact, free as promised. But they recommended a monthly maintenance contract (when has that ever been necessary for a furnace?) and suggested we consider replacing what we have. I should have known that «free» was just a way to get in the door.
Lately we’ve occasionally been hearing strange noise from the furnace and wondered whether we should, in fact, replace it. It was not an emergency so Atlas gave us an appointment three weeks from the date of our call. The appointment was set for today.
Ryan arrived even ahead of time, was immediately friendly, very competent, and quick to explain where the noises may be coming from. He found no problem with the furnace itself and sees no need to replace it. Very honest. This tallied exactly with what our prior experience with Atlas had been.
In addition to the furnace noises, our thermostat has been a programming nightmare so he replaced it with one that fits our simple needs and actually works without calibrating cycles to align with the hurricanes on Saturn or whether the cat sneezes.
Atlas (and Ryan) are concerned with what is best for the customer and at the most reasonable price. No sham, no scam! Nice people; great service! Definitely 5-​stars!

Once again, I had a heating issue. Normally, I hate calling for service on these type of things but I knew Atlas would diagnose it quickly and give me an honest quote.
Ryan, the owner came out this time and diagnosed my issue within 2 minutes by listening to it! It was done so quickly, we had time to chat. Because of all the positive Unilocal,his phone is ringing off the hook… so be patient. I guarantee it is worth having his company come out. He knew my previous review by heart and he really, really appreciates our business. I see there are other companies out there with good reviews but i recommend you get more than one opinion and make Atlas one of them… you won’t regret it! I don’t work for Atlas LOL. The house we recently bought was vented incorrectly, so we were sucking air from the attic and garage causing our PG&E bill to be through the roof. We contacted Atlas and Ryan came out and diagnosed the problem within 5 minutes, quoting us a very reasonable cost for repairs.
We are so happy we found Atlas and Ryan and would definitely recommend them to anyone in the area.

The vents in my kids’ room stopping blowing air in the middle of winter, and when I called Atlas Heating and Air, they got me an appointment for the very next day. Ryan showed up and fixed the problem quickly! He was polite and knowledgeable and most of all, the heater works again! I was charged very reasonably and in fact would have paid twice as much without complaint for the service I received. I highly recommend this company and would use them again in a heartbeat.

I called the office because my heater was not working and Ryan was able to get there the very next day. He was early for the appointment and went right to problem and fixed it. He was friendly, reasonable, and I feel real lucky to have found him. He will fix what is wrong and not find problems that are not there. There is a reason the reviews here are all good. As a real estate agent, I’m in the service business, so I’m very mindful of the quality of service I receive from others. I’m happy to say that Ryan and his crew exceeded my high expectations during their recent replacement of my furnace and ducting.
For starters, I obtained three bids. I made sure to compare apples-​to-​apples. Although two of the three were quite competitive, Ryan’s was clearly the best price and he had lots of great reviews on Unilocal,so we went with his company.
We were needing to coordinate other work at that time, so we changed the scheduling twice. On both occasions, the support staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Since we were getting into a colder season, they provided portable heaters to us, even before the job began.
When the scheduled day came, Ryan and his crew were there and on time. During the entire process, my wife and I found them to be very courteous and hard workers. They finished up ahead of schedule. Some contractors nickel and dime for changes or extras once the work begins. If anything, Atlas did just the opposite. They made improvements during the install, just because they wanted the heating system to look and operate as efficiently as possible, and Ryan didn’t charge us any extra for it. My clients often ask me for recommendations, and Ryan and his crew can count on my support.
By the way, we opted for the Trane two stage variable speed fan model and it’s very quiet and comfortable.

We recently had our air conditioner serviced by Atlas and were very pleased with the results. They arrived on time and immediately diagnosed the problem and made the necessary repairs. They were friendly and helpful and reasonably priced. I highly recommend them.

Our 25 year old heater was making terrible sounds during a real cold spell. I started getting a number of estimates from small to large contractors. Then… it suddenly quit working. I called Atlas in a panic. You guessed it… they were booked for weeks. But they kept calling back, moving the date up each time. They installed a top of the line Trane for the best price and went above the Trane warranty. Did the install in one day. A very neat and clean install.
Later had them back to service the 25 year old air conditioner. They cleaned and tuned it up, saying it was in great condition.
Very honest company. Great customer service. Fantastic workmanship. Good value. If you need service, they are the one.

Ryan is the man! One of the only honest AC guys in town. Great hardware, and a quick install even during the busy summer. Local guys that go above and beyond to make sure your happy.

Another 5 star review, I would give them more if I could. PHENOMENAL company. From the estimate to the actual job, they could not have been better. Extraordinarily professional crew, extremely nice, fast and excellent. Ryan and Stacey are both fantastic. I scheduled a new A/​C install, ended up having to replace the furnace (a known possibility per the home inspection) and they were able to do it all in less than a days work without a hiccup. I cannot recommend them enough. So grateful for Atlas!

Echo previous reviews, Ryan and Stacey couldn’t be better to work with. Our A/​C crashed, Ryan diagnosed the problem with our breakers and recommended an electrician (Lady B-​another 5 stars from us!).

The best customer service around! Just had AC installed and from the quote process to the installation, Ryan and Stacey were great. I highly recommend Atlas for not only fair prices, but accommodating our schedule to get the job done quickly.

Breaking records for heat, our AC decided it could not cope. Called Atlas, Ryan came over. Diagnosed the problem, fixed a slow leak, recharged the system and he was done within the hour. I dont know how long our system wasn’t working but it must of been a long time. i dont recall it ever working this well!

Ryan is the best. My heater died during a freezing cold spell and even though he was probably getting calls from a million other people like me, Ryan came over twice to get it going again until he could get a new one installed for me. He talked me through the problem with the old heater, what my options were for repairing it and how long it might last if I did and what a new one would cost. He was very communicative and informative. I decided to go with a new heater and he then brought over two space heaters to keep us warm until he could get it installed a couple of days later. Ryan took great care of us and I highly recommend him and his company, Atlas.

Searching for an HVAC company is tough if you don’t know someone already. But I got lucky with Atlas. I can’t say enough about their service and quality of work. Don’t look any further give Atlas a shot, I couldn’t expect anymore. Great people and service!

We have an old house in Santa Rosa. The heater went out last year, and we got Ryan’s name from our plumber, Cary. Ryan came over the next day, did a great
assessment, gave us a bid, and had the new heater in almost the next day. We’ve had a couple of problems, due to the older home/​old electricity, and every time we call Ryan, he’s there immediately. He does excellent work, is very friendly, and somebody you would have no problems sending people to for work. Great guy!

Ryan was great. My heater stopped working so I gave him a call. He came over a short time later, took the pilot light and the gas burners apart, cleaned everything, gave me lots of advice, and best of all had it working better than ever. All in less than an hour. He is very honest and charged a fair price, even convincing me that my 35 year old furnace still has some life left in it. Never tried to sell me on stuff I don’t need — just fixed the problem, explained to me exactly what had happened, and was friendly and professional… can’t ask for more than that.
I would definitely use his services again.

Atlas was one of 3 companies that we had come out and give us estimates.. and we are so happy that we went with them. Not only are they really competitive price wise, but both Ryan and Brandon are great guys. They did a phenominal job — completely removed and replaced all of our previous duct work, installed and moved our furnice, and installed an AC unit. The quality of their work is impeccable and Ryan & Brandon and the rest of their crew are courteous, friendly, and very professional. Throughout the process when I had questions, and even now when the work is already done, Ryan responds to my calls/​texts right away and is always available. I will definitely recommend them to all of my friends & family.
UPDATE as of October 27 2014 — These guys are AWESOME. Had some trouble with our unit (not their fault — spiders actually went in and built a web inside causing the Heat not to switch over) and Ryan and team came out without question and fixed the issue. If all companies were like ATLAS, business would be booming! I wouldn’t go to anyone else for Heating & Air Conditioning needs, period.

My air conditioning unit quit working on one of the hottest days we’ve had in a long time. I called several companies and was most impressed with Atlas. Stacey, the owner’s wife answered the phone promptly and couldn’t have been nicer, more helpful or efficient in calling her husband Ryan, the owner and service man for their company. She arranged for him to come to my house that SAME DAY! She informed me that Ryan has been servicing air conditioners for 21 years and said that he would try his best to fix the problem so that I didn’t have to purchase a new unit, but that if I did, he was also an authorized dealer. His costs were reasonable and competitive for the area. On the phone, I felt like Stacey gave me honest advice and they made me feel like they really wanted to help.
In person, Ryan was even better than I expected!!! I had been wrought with anxiety about the expense of possibly having to replace a whole air conditioning system. Ryan has a big personality, and is very nice. He literally diagnosed the problem within 15 minutes of looking at my system, had the part to fix it in his truck, and helped remove, clean and replace the air filter’s as well. He completed the total repair in less than an hour! I was so pleased. And, thrilled that I didn’t need a whole new unit! He was able to take my credit card on the go and was professional and efficient. I cannot say enough about their combined service and honesty. If I have issues again or need servicing, I’m definitely going to be contacting Ryan and Stacey and would recommend anyone with HVAC issues to them as well.
