Calypso Salon

The most inconsiderate, rude, uneducated belligerent salon I have ever come across in my 10+ years in the industry. To scream in front of paying customer. Is appalling and so unprofessional. I would NEVER recommend this salon.

I have patronized Calypso since it opened. My hair stylist/​colorist of 15 years, Sonia, joined their well run establishment. Will visit again tomorrow. It’s a good investment in looking and feeling great at any age ;).

Melissa Callen. Fantastic. She helped me push forward into an actual style that I’d been wanting to do for years and I love it. She is so passionate and talented it’s been really exciting and good for my self confidence. The salon has a great vibe and has great parking too.

When you are looking for an exceptional styling experience, this is the place. I have trusted my hair to Rhondi for more than 20 years, and I have never been anything less than 100 percent satisfied, if not more. When people stop you on the street or in a restaurant and ask you where you got your hair done, you know you are getting top treatment from a fabulous professional. I have noticed that Rhondi excels at making sure each of her clients receives her full attention, and that each person feels in that moment that they are her only client. Stylists at Calypso take things like face shape and skin tone into account as they customize a style to work with the desires and the lifestyles of each person. This is a top-​quality business. The best there is.

This place is the best. Everyone that works here is so lovely and welcoming. I see Christine and she is so wonderful. I have Nicole Richie lavender hair and it lasts for about 8 weeks. Christine is ontop of trends and always willing to try something new. Go see her to spiff up your do.

I absolutely love Rhondi, the owner of Calypso salon. I have been a client of hers for 25+ years! The new salon on 4^th street now offers full facial services as well. As always with Rhondi’s standards, top notch! She and her husband Greg go to great lengths to make sure this salon exceeds all expectations. Is it a bit more expensive? Yes, but worth every dollar!

I have been using Christine for 10 months. She has been consistent in giving me the best cut and color I have ever gotten, from any stylist, I have ever used. I have lived in New York and Philadelphia and her work is better than anyone I used in both those cities.
I followed her from the 4^th Street Salon to Calypso Salon. Congratulations to the proprietors at Calypso you have added a Star to your team. Christine is professional, well educated and loves her work. She is always on time and will go out of her way to accommodate her clients requests and schedules. You can feel confident in putting your hair in her hands!

Me and two of my girlfriends went in to get an ombré a year ago at Fourth Street Studio all done by Christine who is now at Calypso studio. She was good, but a little pricey ($ 165) but we thought it was the normal price. I called back a month ago wanting to touch up on my ombré and asked for a price estimate. Another girl, not Christine, answered the phone and told me it would be ~$ 130 for a full ombré. When I told her how much we all paid last year she said that was pretty expensive for an ombré and that it is usually around 130. She sounded surprised that Christine would charge us that much for an ombré. Also, Christine was being super cheap and told me that she wouldn’t bleach or color the inside of my hair because it would make the ombré look better, and I believed her, but I found out later that you’re supposed to color the inside. Therefore she was pretty much trying to rip us off and save herself some money and time by using less hair product.
I feel really cheated from this experience. I trusted Christine after she reassured me her expertise in ombres. Christine has poor integrity and I deserve more for what I paid especially since all 3 of us are poor college students.
