Peanuts statues are everywhere in Santa Rosa, so you have to visit this place at least once. What’s not to love about this place? It’s great.

Small museum done very well in Santa Rosa. Santa Rosa? Yes, because Charles M. Schulz lived in Santa Rosa and drew all those Peanuts strips here. His museum fits right in. And, it’s just across the street from his ice rink that he built and where he played hockey.
Charles Schulz’s studio has been transported to the museum so you can see where he worked and created all those characters, all those strips, all those Peanuts specials.
You will find his strips covering the walls, even when you use the restroom.
There are charming gardens surrounding the property where you will find a variety of photo ops. The Snoopy labyrinth is there, too.
Lots of covered parking, even a place to plug in and charge your electric vehicle.
Your child can enjoy a workshop space to draw and color and play. The room is used for camps in the summer though, so be sure to check.
If you walk across the street, there are more Peanuts places to visit so give yourself lots of time to enjoy Santa Rosa.

Was in town for Father’s Day and decided to take my dad to this cute little spot! It was free admission for dads and with my student ID card discount, I paid a total of 5 dollars for this outing!
At the entrance, you will be given a map with all the key places to visit. There are PLENTY of photo opportunities throughout the museum. There are comic strips plastered almost everywhere and they are so much fun to read as they are aesthetically pleasing to look at. They have a special presidential campaign exhibit which is pretty timely! Everyone room has great content, sharing Schulz’ history and how he began his journey.
There’s plenty of interactive opportunities! In the exhibit area, they have several activities that go with the theme (ballot box/​postcards to the president). There’s also a room upstairs where you can draw your own comic strip as well as color or create your own 3D Snoopy Art!
When you want to take a break, you can watch a Peanuts movie in their theater where they are continuously streaming short films. Check the schedule by the admission area for more info!
This place has something for everybody and VERY WELL WORTH IT! Whether you’re a Snoopy fan or not, you’ll have tons of fun regardless.

I love this museum! It’s only $ 10 we stayed for more than 1 hour. The place is not large only 2 story building but Every room is cute and has many contents there. Starting w the Charles history, why it’s relating to world war 1, and how to relate to presidential campaign welcome. It’s not only for kids fun but history. There is short movies and free tour.
There is a store in the next building. I bought a Woodstock mug cup, $ 15 and T shirt, $ 10. Relatively cheap, cute, rare and so many variety! I can stay here for 1 hour.
We went after hot air balloon festival ending around 9 and before lavender fes starting 12. It’s perfect time and place to visit between them. Not crowded at all.

Fantastic. My cousin who loves Snoopy, wanted to visit, so I begrudgingly agreed to make the trip to Santa Rosa… SURPRISE…I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
Even if you just mildly like Charles Schultz, Snoopy and the gang, but are not huge fans, I think you will be pleasantly surprised; I certainly was! The museum is small, but it was wonderful. As many folks stated, the replica of his study was really interesting; my favorite were the holograms in Woodstock’s fountain in the garden, really delightful — I bet most people missed that! I smiled from the time we entered to well after we left.
Would highly recommend to anyone. Maybe avoid the weekends, it was very crowded. Not sure if that had anything to do with Father’s Day or not.
And of course, don’t miss going across the street to the ice rink, Joe Hockey’s Home Ice; and the larger gift shop just beyond the ice rink that has an upstairs gallery of Snoopy & Peanuts paraphenalia from around the world.

Growing up watching every peanuts thing we could get our hands on including the specials that my brother and I watched obsessively this was an amazing place to visit! The kite eating tree was one of my favorite things!

I came on a weekday, so it was easy to find parking and not crowded. They have volunteers to answer your questions and take you on a tour. It’s a neat place. Admission is inexpensive.

I took my children here today for my daughters birthday. This is a very cute museum! This is a definite dream come true for any Peanuts fan.
There are two floors showcasing all things Peanuts and memorializing Charles Schultz. There is a classroom where children and adults alike can draw and color pictures of the Peanuts gang or simply watch old Peanuts cartoons.
There is also a café, gift shop and ice skating rink across the street.

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this sooner! We go all the time and to all the fun family events that we can make it to. It is so much fun for my 4 year old, who loves the arts & crafts room and the movie theater! The new addition of the play /​reading space is also wonderful. I highly recommend a trip to this museum, many times a year! Tip: Go next door to «Snoopy’s warm puppy café’» order lunch and eat out of a «dog bowl» you won’t regret it!

If you are a Charlie Brown fan then this is a must stop.
The info brief from the ticket collector has to have been the best one we’ve ever received. Fun, thorough and with great tips. Be sure to start with the intro film. Something I thought not worth the time, but after doing it, I was a believer.
There is a lot of reading but the way they’ve arranged everything it is every enjoyable. Kids can have fun looking at all the stuff and there are tons of plop down spots with reading and drawing materials throughout. add to that there are videos/​movies going all day in the theater.
I loved sitting there and taking on Sparky’s actual work desk area, that has been transferred in toto to the museum. Very special

A little backstory. As a kid, I read the Peanuts comic strip from my local newspaper almost every day. My favorite was the Sunday edition when it’s in color which I believe is it’s true glory. The characters felt more vivid and alive but on the other days, I use my kid imagination to fill in the colors and also to imagine what their voices were like. Then, I started watching the cartoons such as the annual Christmas special and a few other seasonal ones which ingrained the voice actor’s voices into my head. As a kid, this is what motivated me to wake up every morning (besides frosted flakes).
Visiting this museum brings back all of my fond memories of reading the comic strips. It also shows the various sketches, iterations, and even inspirations. It’s basically a Peanuts wonderland. When I have a child, I’ll be sure to bring him/​her her since the play area with the various props will make priceless memories and pictures to upload to Facebook and other social medium or even a plain old photo album.
I still remember the last comic strip Sparky drew/​wrote. It was a memorable but sad day. There was such a sample at the museum and it just brought me to tears reminiscing.

I’m curious why this is getting such rav reviews. It cost our family $ 30 to get in and we did everything possible, read just about everything and we stayed 1 ½ hours. That’s a little pricey. Now, I was VERY excited to come see this museum because like most, I’ve grown up with the Peanuts gang and now my kids are. I guess I left wanting more.

A museum worth way more than Peanuts. ;-) Many charming touches throughout, coupled with interesting architecture. The wit & wisdom of Charles Schulz shines through in so many ways.
There are so many Peanuts comic strips to enjoy, organized by various topics. One could spend a lot of time just reading those and smiling /​laughing. There’s more to see and enjoy, too.
One of my nephews got into the drawing opportunities upstairs in the art room. The other liked all the sculptures in the the entrance and garden areas.
We also stopped in to the ice rink and watched the skaters for a while. What a great facility!
Then we checked out the gift shop, which has displays on the second floor worthy of being an addition to the museum — Peanuts characters depicted by various vendors over the years, including Lego sets.

I love this place. It houses a fantastic collection of Schulz work, as well as 2 fun gift shops and an ice rink with a snack bar. I love love love that they have reserved Charles’ table in the snack area. The current exhibit based around the movie is super fun because there are photo shoot backdrops where you can take pics on Snoopy’s dog house etc. Other highlights are the kite eating tree in the court yard and the Snoopy’s head labyrinth out front. Highly recommend.

What can I say, We love Peanuts, especially Snoopy. We were thrilled when the Charles Schulz Museum opened and quickly became «Fan» level members.
It’s a small but lovely museum covering the works of Charles Schulz with frequent exhibits from other cartoonists.
The exhibits rotate on a regular basis in the changing galleries. Right now downstairs is a marvelous exhibit on Snoopy and the Red Baron and upstair is an exhibit on how the line art of Charles Schulz was adapted to 3D for the new Peanuts Movie.
A Must See when you’re in the area!
Also on the Schulz campus, in addition to the museum, is Snoopy’s Home Ice skating rink and the «Warm Puppy Café» with a new high end chef. Oh, and of course, a great gift shop!

Growing up reading the Peanuts comic strips always had me very interested in Mr. Schultz’s work. I am so lucky to live in Sonoma County and be able to be so close to a museum that allows me to explore the career of Mr. Schultz. I explored the museum, looked through the little shop that they have and ended up buying a peanuts shirt, a backpack, and some other little goodies for my friends. I will have to bring my niece and nephew next time.

What a fun place! The SO and I were in Santa Rosa for a weekend and knew that we needed to check out the Peanuts museum. How can you not like this museum? We were definitely the oldest people in that museum unaccompanied by children lol. Anyways, this museum is not particularly large, but it’s entertaining regardless of age. The bottom floor shows the evolution of many of Schulz’s characters from their inception to what they looked like in the more recent years. There are tons of original comic strips, and it’s amazing to see what the artistic process for Schulz entailed.
The upstairs has a direct replica of Schulz’s study, and a exhibit on many of his influences. They have a wonderful Peanuts sculpture garden right next to the museum.
tldr; great museum, awesome place to get your peanuts game on!

I love this place. It’s an incredibly well designed museum. They honor Schulz and keep those of us who loved him engaged while bringing on the next generation. We spent several hours in the museum, which is laid out chronologically and thematically and enjoyed reading the various biographical posters and cartoons. I so appreciate that his family gifted the museum with artifacts of his personal study. It was truly wonderful to see his gorgeous desk and view all the various elements on his bookshelfs — it really brought to life who he was, not only as a cartoonist but as a well-​rounded human.

Been here a few times over the years, and recently returned for a visit prompted by the nostalgia inducing and delightful «Peanuts Movie» screening.
The museum was smaller than I remembered, but still maintains a very satisfying array of Peanuts history and homages. On this visit they were having several interactive children’s activities, so the space felt a bit overrun with youngsters, and I didn’t stay as long as I might have. The rest of the campus is well worth a look, including the ice rink and café, and the separate building gift shop, with a great range of gifts you might not find anywhere else.

The kids had a great time. The exhibits were informative and kept the kids interested. We watched a half an
hour episode in the auditorium. We should’ve planned ice skating but didn’t plan ahead. Be sure to check out the ice rink and gift shop across the street.

This is Nirvana for a Snoopy fan like me!

Enjoyable. My favorite thing was the recreation of Schultz’ art studio. Nice to see some of the original ink work too.
Lots of stuff for kids — a big room for drawing and coloring, a doghouse, stairs, etc.
Displays of Peanuts memorabilia and a chronology of Schultz’ life.
A great wall that produces a scene of Lucy holding a football for Charlie Brown to kick and this is made of ceramic tile repros of thousands of actual panels.

This place makes me so happy! I never found myself to be a huge Peanuts fan by any means, but I always found them to be adorable. When I found out about this museum, I knew we had to check it out. The Peanuts are all around Sonoma County. My Aunt is a resident and showed me her library card, and that even had Peanuts characters on it!
For $ 10, it’s a bargain. There’s plenty to look at and learn! Some artists have created a lot of really neat pieces on display. Everyone who works there is very passionate about their job and teaching people about the creation of The Peanuts.
My personal favorite area was the ice skating rink where Charles Schulz played hockey as a kid. I learned so much that day and it was a nice end to an absolutely wonderful trip! Check this out whether you’re a resident, adult, or child :) I loved it!

This museum is a must-​see for any Peanuts/​Snoopy fan. It contains a lot of history and the evolution of the Peanuts gang and the life of Charles Schulz. There are many displays of comic strips, models, memorabilia, a recreation of Schulz’s office, a screening room with various Peanuts episodes, a play area and art room for kids, etc.
The museum isn’t huge, but it is a fascinating place to visit. They sell some gifts and souvenirs, but next to the ice rink, there is a very extensive gift shop with even more displays, collector’s items, and memorabilia.
Be sure to bring a camera!

Went here with my family & really had a good time informing ourselves on the life and achievements of Charles Shultz, aka «Sparky.»
The museum is modern with beautiful architecture accentuating fun, interesting exhibits.
My particular favorite was the wonderful comic strip mural of Lucy tricking Charlie Brown yet again with the football. What time & artistic talent put into this, amazing. Learning about the character’s progression over the years, and how he incorporated real life problems within his comics was enjoyable & touching.
My son, although very young, liked the colors and sounds some of the exhibits had. They have a large arts and crafts room for the older kids. You can sign up for a guided tour or do what we did, perused on our own.
The staff were all smiles, answering our questions and telling us what highlights to see in this two story dedication to Charles Shultz’s life.
It took us about an hour and a half to see everything and checked out the ice rink next door.

I’ve been a Peanuts fan since the ‘80s, so it was really interesting to visit this museum and find out more about Charles Schultz and how his cartoons developed.
Our guide was really interesting, probably because she seemed to have a genuine affection for the cartoons and the artist. She was such a fount of knowledge that we ran out of time as our bus tour had to leave, but we could happily have spent a lot more time listening to her and wandering around the museum.
When you walk in from the car park, some large models of the characters and the ‘psychiatrist’s booth’ greet you. The museum is spread over two floors, with a great mural made up of individual comic strips at the end of the atrium. The individual rooms contain personal belongings, cartoons and film clips, from throughout Schultz’s life, showing how the Peanuts strip developed. There is even a recreation of his study. There are also activities for kids.
If you are a fan of Snoopy /​Peanuts, then this is very definitely worth a visit while you are in the area. Take a lot of pictures while you’re at it.

My wife and I decided to make a visit since we both are Snoopy fans (who isn’t?) and she had never been out here before. It’s a must visit for any Peanuts fan! The admission isn’t that much– $ 10 or $ 9 discounted price if you have your AAA card! The museum is a little small. They have a couple rotating exhibits, various films throughout the day, wall exhibits, and a nice exhibition of Shultz’s life on the 2^nd floor, including a recreation of his studio. We got to laugh at the comics we read and learned a lot about Charles Schultz’s life, all in about 2 hours.
There’s also a skating rink here that Schultz spent a lot of time in as well as a gift shop in a separate building from the museum and ice rink. Don’t miss the gift shop– there are lots of cool Peanuts souvenirs in here as well as an additional gallery of Peanuts memorabilia upstairs… and it doesn’t cost you anything to get in!

So, when I had the chance to visit an actual Charles Schulz museum; I knew I couldn’t pass up the opportunity! Your visit experience is contingent on your expectations. Personally, it met all my expectations, especially for the $ 10 admission fee. There was an auditorium that had daily viewing times of Peanuts classics, an assortment of wall murals, exhibits documenting the work of Charles Schulz, and plenty of statues for cute photo opportunities. Due to my schedule, I didn’t get to stay as long as I wanted to, but I’m really glad that I was able to stop by and spend some time here! If you are passing through town, then give yourself an hour at least to be able to walk through the entire museum at a leisurely pace.

Today is my 63^rd birthday, the same day as the late Charles M. Schulz (RIP).
Thanks to my fellow Unilocalers, Victor G., Ed U., and Lou S. Their wonderful and fun reading reviews were all the more to convince me to bookmark this destination for my outing on my birthday.
Charles M. Schulz Museum & Research Center was pulling at my heart strings to see the works of this late author, whom I have admired since I was a young lady in junior high school aka middle school. I brought my small collection of paperback Charlie Brown books (cost me $.40 back in the days — late 60’s) to savor the moment of childhood memories and to honor him on our special day. Oh, yes, I pulled my collection out, placed them on a bench and snapped a photo right under the large photo of Snoopy (Okay, Go to It).
The museum is a two story building. The Research Center is on the second floor and can be seen by appointment only. One can also sit and relax in the Mezzanine Lounge. The Biographical Gallery features Schulz’s timeline and biographical exhibitions. The Education Room is a place where a person can create his/​her own cartoons — a fun place for children.
Currently in the Downstairs Temporary Gallery is the Peanuts in Wonderland exhibit, running from November 8, 2014 through April 26, 2015.
After seeing all the exhibits, my husband and I stopped in the Gift Store. He gave me the go ahead to pick up a few souvenir items as my birthday gift (reuseable tote, letter opener, flying ace pen, and a package of Wonderland Tea — black tea with blueberry and lemon).
I had to say today was a good day, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the Charles M. Schulz Museum & Research Center. Anyone who loves Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the characters (Lucy, Linus, Patty, Peppermint Patty, Schroeder, Pig Pen, etc.) of the Peanuts gang, I definitely recommend stopping in this museum and cherish the works that Mr. Schulz has done. It’s only $ 5.00 for senior citizens (62 years and above).
