Love this place. Would spend way more money here but the pounding music is so offensive I can only stay a short time. Turn it down and you will probably notice more in profits. Please. Your bombastic music is driving us out the door.

I always find items there that I need and the staff is super helpful. I would recommend coming here. Items are clean and orderly and in good condition.

I went to this thrift shop to donate a couch and a chair. I pulled in with my truck loaded and couldn’t park in the drop off area due to a large truck in the way. Before I even got out of my car I was approached by a woman. «I can’t take that!» She said. I asked why. She said we don’t take couches. I looked over her shoulder and the entry ramp was lined with couches. I asked her why she had those donated couches and she then said she didn’t have any room. I said ok and turned to leave. I thought I should do a Google search before I left for other thirst stores close. So I leaned against the side of my truck and pulled out my phone. I ran the search and as I was looking at the results a man hollered from the door. «Hey!» I didn’t think he was talking to me so I ignored it. He walked up to me and said «hey you need to get off this property right now!!! «I was confused. I asked why? He said «you just need to to leave now.» I again asked why? He said «You were calling this lady dirty name and you need to get the f**k off this property now! If you don’t leave right now im going to call the police.» Then he pulls out his phone and calls the police. I was blown away. I had don’t nothing wrong. I never said anything impolite to the lady or really said anything to her. I thought she was a little rude. But he was extremely rude and disrectful. He never asked me to leave politely, he didn’t speak to me with any respect. He never asked why I was still there. He came out of the store yelling and never stopped. I will never return to this shop again!

I had heard some negative news about Crossing the Jordan, and also I was turned down for their Sonoma Mountain Markeplace to sell my handcrafted items. They said «I didn’t fit their seller profile.» Wow — that was a first. Since Crossing the Jordan is affiliated with SMM it put me off going into their thrift stores or supporting them in any way. My hubby had been out in RP in Feb. and was going to the Goodwill, but walked into CTJ store, which is right next door. He said loud rap music was playing and it was dirty and disorganized. So in August I was out there and decided to go in and check it out myself. It was clean, organized, and there was soft Christian music playing, the woman at the cash register was friendly and sweet. Told me what was on sale. I found two pair of jeans, gorgeous almost new exercise pants (melon color), and a brand new sweatshirt for hubby and «Hello Kitty» cap for my baby granddaughter, which also looked new (one of the pom-​poms was missing — which I can fix). I was so thrilled. Not a huge selection, but nicely presented, nice amount of furniture, priced pretty good, not overly priced. I was in a hurry so couldn’t stay long enough to really look at everything. But I definitely will check out the SR Ave store. Prices seemed comparable to Good Will.

Not as many books as I would like but an awesome selection of clothing and some great furniture too!

More than a thrift store… actually felt like the people were there for more than just a permanent yard sale. Very friendly, Christian themed shirts, Christian music, and a «God Bless» as we checked out. I love seeing a thrift store that is a true outreach to the community.

I visited Crossing the Jordan for the first time yesterday. I found some amazing deals. $ 14, and I walked out with an Eddie Bauer vest that looks brand new, an Old Navy jacket, Docker jeans/​pants, and an Eddie Bauer denim shirt, also looking like it had never been worn. The staff was friendly, and I actually found myself tapping my toes to the Christian music that was playing. I wasn’t looking for furniture, but I scanned that room, and was impressed by what I saw. I will be back for sure! Thank you, Crossing the Jordan Thrift Store!

It feels good to donate your good, usable unwanted stuff to charity. The staff was very nice and helpful. They were also appreciative. I know that sounds odd to point out, so i ‘ll explain. I donate to both GW and SVdP. Both accept your donations just fine. GW is very «in-​n-​out» and if you want a donation receipt you can walk in and get it yourself.
What impressed me, made me pause, was the CTJ staff. They thanked me verbally fir the donation. They acknowledged that I had a choice where to donate and were genuinely thankful that I chose them. And it felt genuine.
They will be my first choice for donations in the future.

Not only do I love the Santa Rosa Ave store, there is also one affiliated with Crossing the Jordon on Bluebell Dr off Coffee Lane! Its called «The Dig.» This is a fun place for me because I am always finding adorable brand name clothing there… and an even bigger treasure is that it is 1.99 a pound versus by the item… Last time I was there, I spent $ 13 and walked out with an oversized shopping bag stuffed to the gill with clothing! I go to Crossing the Jordan thrift stores before any others specifically because I know the money I spend goes to lift up (mentally and spiritually) women and children who need a little support at hard time in their lives! God bless their organization and I pray that they continue to thrive! Oh and p. s. for those out there who don’t know, not only do they assist those in our communities, they also ship donations to third world countries to assist families in need there… BRAVO!

As with most donation sites, there is a location (usually around back) that is set up for donations that’s out of the way of the main entrance. Anyone who complains that you have have to drive all the way around to the back portion to drop off items, is in my opinion, lazy. It doesn’t take a genius or an inordinate amount of time to drive around back, jesus.
I did some searching online for a worthy cause and chose this company because they cater to women and children in need. This sold my decision to make my HUGE donation to their site. I actually didn’t know if they would take furniture and household items, so I was totally prepared to drop off the womens items and books and then search for another worthy cause to donate my furniture.
When we arrived, the gal at the counter was friendly and informative and seemed happy to accept a donation and gave us parameters for donating furniture (clean, no stains, odors etc) and then told us someone would meet us out back to accept our things. I quickly glanced around the store and it’s clean, packed with good bargains. I actually might come back to peruse the inventory.
We drove around back, and wow was I exhausted from how long it took to get back there, and a nice gal met us with a cup of coffee to wake us up (jk), looked over our stuff, seemed very happy with our donation and accepted everything! No need to find another location! Great place, much bigger than I expected and extremely grateful for the new inventory.
Happy I stopped here, and from now on, will donate my things to this pretty cool place.

Like too many thrift stores now, donating is made as difficult as possible. Instead of being able to go into the store to donate (and wouldn’t you think that would be the point — to get people to donate and shop there) the person donating has to drive around the back of the building. When I did that, an enormous pickup truck was completely blocking the throughway. I had to park at the next business down and walk over with several loads of donations. This discourages people from donating and from shopping — I go to thrift stores because I love looking for unusual treasures; I donate a lot because I buy a lot and I’m not a hoarder. But I will never return to this shop — I will never donate or shop there.

Crossing the Jordan is where there is a friendly yet stand back staff. They are there to find if you need them, but no one bugs you much if you walk around. Usually full of smiles and people goofing with each other. But also mothers with kids running around, sometimes crying, but I suppose that is like any other shopping place during the day.
Parking doesn’t seem to be a problem when we go (fingers crossed it’s our luck to keep happening). However, most people don’t realize there is parking on the side of the building (opposite the street light) and there’s always a spot over there. I’ve even seen people make their own parking space on that side of the building. So don’t despair if you can’t find one in the front!
We find lots of great deals at rock bottom prices. The risk sometimes is that you might buy something like we did, like a yogurt maker from the 70s, but they don’t have it marked as tested … you risk it, and for us, yay! It works just fine! And we bought it for only $ 2. You can’t beat that!
Silverware and mugs and cups and clothing are at the most competitive prices (compared to other thrift stores like Goodwill and it definitely beats smaller stores like Hidden Treasures in RP). Though despite a large collection of clothing I can never quite find anything in my size. Not that any other place I’ve been to otherwise is that successful either.
I really love this place and always when we go in, there is a 50% of [insert color] sticker sale. Some days everything I want seems to have a yellow sticker and other days blue, but no matter, it’s all inexpensively priced.
Today we even found a cork wood coaster set (yes, it was missing one) for only $ 3. Not bad. We needed coasters and I wasn’t even looking for a set! Sometimes you never know what you «need» till you have some spare change in your pocket and you see it!
I like to come back here because I know it supports charity. And I like that like most places, I don’t have to carry cash. Some days I go in and I spend like $ 2, other days, like today, we find a cool wood storage box for $ 15 and spend over $ 20.
And to note, as far as I know … they don’t charge a debit/​credit card fee. They’ve never charged us. I’ve always used cash under $ 5 though, so maybe they have a minimum.
Pick up the Unilocal deal for $ 20 of stuff for $ 10! Buy three more for a friend too. You’ll be sorry if you don’t buy all the max of this deal if you can.
The only caveat is that they ask you to spend all $ 20 at one time, which can be tough. But if you visit weekly and off peak times of the day, it can be easy to find things if you keep your mind open. Sometimes we go and find nothing we want, and other times we go and find we want soooo much!
Ha ha, or buy a piece of furniture! That will use the discount voucher!
We’re waiting to run into some TV tables/​TV trays for eating while watching South Park (we have a semi large HD and sometimes all our time to watch TV is during our dinner). Can anyone send us somewhere they’ve seen a set at discount? [Pleeeeeze my back hurts from hunching over the coffee table and I won’t eat on the couch … eeeww crumbs!]
All joking aside, they do actually have some good furniture in great condition. You just may want to get a cover to make it look cool. You’d be amazed at what a couch cover can do for a great couch that did have plaid (with cover now underneath) but appears sleek in light brown cover.
If nothing else, if you are a crafty person, this is a great place to hit up for fabric. They have a hanging section of all types of fabrics from old tablecloths, runners, etc. I saw a lace one I passed up since our cart was getting full, but my memory still misses it. Not a spot on it, and it was pristine white. Oh well, come and go! Maybe next time.

They had a pretty good selection of clothing, a large furniture & housewares department… but this is a church run charity, so you have to be prepared for the Jesus Rock they are pumping over the speakers.

Nice medium-​sized thrift store with quite a bit of furniture and clothing. Browsed happily for about an hour. Bought the «$ 20 for @10» deal and got a LOT of stuff for my money

Many bargains to choose from here. TONS of clothes to choose from and weekly specials as well. Lots of furniture, appliances glassware, etc in the back as well.
Parking can be a big tough in the front during peak hours and they charge a 0.50 cent debit/​credit fee to use your card.
Support the cause and shop local!

Very helpful staff and I found a ton of great blankets and fabric I needed for a project. I really love their coffee station as well. :-D

When they first opened, this was the place to be. I loved going here. Then a new manager came in, and started pricing things at retail/​ebay prices. I have noticed that their stock has not been rotating very often. Things sit on shelves for weeks, with the price never dropping. After going in several times and coming out empty handed… I won’t be going back.
What makes me really mad… sets are hardly ever kept together. There were several items I was interested in, only to find the parts needed for the item somewhere else in the store priced separately. i.e. a 70’s electric fondue pot… the base was found in one section, the pot portion in another. This makes the item overpriced!
A set of 4 glasses sat in the case at the counter for months $ 35 for the set. They were never put on sale. They kept saying that «They are vintage». Well, I went home and researched them. On ebay they were going for less than $ 5 per glass. In my humble opinion you should always research an item before sticking a huge price tag on them… and even then you have to sell them at the proper venue to get that high of a price.
I commend them for their work with woman, I just can’t afford to shop there…
