We enthusiastically recommend Joel for refinishing wood floors. We recently bought our home, which had oak floors in dire need of refurbishing. Joel stuck to his budget and schedule and his promise of no dust. We did clear out for a few days per his recommendation but while we were here, he and his helper were a pleasure to have around… an important consideration for me. I had contacted other companies through Unilocal but Joel was clearly the best choice. He throughly explained his highest quality process and products and then my responsibility for after-​care. The floors look so beautiful, we hesitated to move our furniture back into the room just so we could enjoy the final result.

Joel is professional, honest and I would recommend him wholeheartedly.
He corrected a mistake a previous janitorial contractor did by applying the wrong finish product to our office flooring. He striped the product and applied a beautiful new finish.
We could not close our business during operating hours and he worked around our needs. The flexibility he offered was the key!

Joel was recommended to us by our general contractor who was impressed with his work. We had put off refinishing our oak floors for a very long time and they were a mess. Joel and crew did an amazing job restoring them in the time promised at a very fair price. They did an outstanding job. They were such a pleasure to work with. Bought a house in Guerneville that was completely carpeted, and we wanted to change that.
We met with 6 different vendors in the area all of which had good reviews on Unilocal.
Joel was by far the best!
He was the easiest to communicate with. He was transparent about the timing of the project both when it would start and when it would finish.
He works with high quality products, which is what was important to us, and the colors and finishes are very contemporary. Exactly what we wanted.
His pricing wasn’t the cheepest, because nobody can beat the lumber liquidators and Empire Floors of the world. But he definitely wasn’t the most expensive either. And when it comes to floors, you get what you pay for!
He ended up finishing the project early, worked around our schedules and the schedules of other contractors we were working with simultaneously.
All in all, I would recommend Joel and Dimensional Flooring Concepts to any Bay Area friends or family looking to install new wood floors in their home.
The customer service and end result speak for themselves.

We had our kitchen and formal dining room wood floors sanded and refinished by Joel and his staff during our kids’ Easter break. They went from being incredibly nasty to stunningly beautiful! They also worked around our travel schedule and helped move a few pieces of furniture since I had recently broke my arm.

We just had our hardwood floors refinished by Joel Guzman and his team. I can’t say enough how incredibly happy we are with the entire process from start to finish. Joel was nothing but patient as I took months to decide on a stain. He was more than willing to make up samples and drop them off as I constantly changed my mind. He never once seemed annoyed or frustrated, and in fact reassured me that he understood that I needed to be confident in the choice that I made. Of all the companies that came out for a quote, he was the only one that informed me that my 7 month old should be out of the house during the latter part of the process for his safety. I really appreciated Joel’s honesty, professionalism, and meticulousness. His team did a clean job, making sure to keep most areas blocked off to minimize dust accumulation which is unavoidable. I barely had to clean up afterwards. My floors look amazing, like brand new, and I will most definitely recommend Joel to anyone who wants an honest business to work with. We will be calling on him for future projects without any hesitation. Thank you Joel for a superb job and a smooth experience.

Joel refinished, repaired and installed to match portions of our wood flooring in our 1938 home in Santa Rosa — the result is simply amazing. He knew exactly what to do to bring out the natural beauty of the oak and fir flooring. He also made transitions and matched damaged areas. The work was timely, he is an excellent communicator and we were able to work with him to make this as easy and painless as possible. Extremely professional, reasonably priced, I would recommend him to everyone!

After consulting with several companies, Joel’s responsiveness, flexibility, clear communication and his eye for detail won us over! Our old growth pine floors had the potential for being the show piece for our new home… entrusting this project to a stranger was a big deal for us. Years of wear and sun damage, spotty repairs, water damage… you name it– it needed to be done. Joel was at the job every day, sent photos for us along the way and fully disclosed as he discovered more about the project once it began– no surprises. Not only was the project a challenge– the weather also presented obstacles which we expected to delay progress. Joel and his team completed the floors on time and we are still smiling with how beautiful the floors are… it seems a shame to put furniture on them.

I looked on Unilocal for flooring refinishing companies. After getting 8, yes 8 estimates, i chose dimensional flooring concepts. His bid was competitive, but I chose based on Joel’s professionalism.
I was in contact with Joel for a couple of months before starting the job (my choice). He was totally professional, kind and flexible. I’ve owned my home for many years, and am a little/​lot picky about repairs. I never regretted my choice!
My floors are perfect, and I would recommend Joel and his crew to anyone considering refinishing. If I ever need new or refinished floors, I would call Joel. A true professional and really nice man.

We have the most beautiful floors! Thanks to Joel and his amazing team. I met Joel for the first time and immediately knew that he was the guy to refinish my hardwood floors. I had my Mom and my two sisters with me when we met Joel and we were all just so impressed with his knowledge and his professionalism, not to mention what a nice person. We got his bid and we were very happy. He was so thorough on the process that was going to take place, everyday he kept me informed, I would stop by my house daily to see the beautiful transformation that was taking place and was very impressed. Joel is great. Make that fantastic;truly in a class by himself. There is nothing negative we can say about Joel and his crew: Of the four companies we contacted, Joel was one of two that responded, and his bid was substantially better than the other one. Joel met us when he said he would, his communication skills are exemplary, and the pride he takes in his workmanship was reflected in the outstanding job he did on our floors. He actually worked on Thanksgiving day, without being asked. Joel in not one to start a job only to drag out the process– he did not stop until he was done, and he communicated with us on each step of the process. We highly recommend Joel to anyone looking for the best. We will enjoy our beautiful floors for years to come.

We recently purchased a home that had dirty, old carpet we wanted to replace immediately. Joel was referred to us by our real estate agent. First, Joel was very accommodating about coming out to give us a quote. He brought samples so we could lay them out on our floor and see what the wood looked like in the space. His quote was very reasonable and clearly laid out line by line. It was very easy to make a few adjustments and see exactly how they would affect the final price. He and his crew did the work in less than a week, and he came over to walk through the entire project once it was completed. Joel is very professional and does a very thorough job.
We are very happy with our new floors, and will definitely call Joel next time we have a flooring project.

Joel and his team could not have been more responsive. On Wednesday I met with them and got a bid and by the following Monday my blonde oak floors were on their way to a facelift. I got excellent communication throughout, a fair bid and the work met my expectations. I even called them to seal the wood countertops in the cottage that I was living in temporarily and my landlady was so pleased with them she’s now going to have them done.

His workmanship was outstanding and far superior than I ever hoped.

Our floor is so magnificent; no one can believe that it’s laminate.
