Specialties
The historically beautiful Mark West Lodge Event Center is established in the hillsides of Sonoma County. With a rustic ambiance and surrounding lush greenery, the landmark is an ideal location for a wine country event. The newly updated venue is home to the ornate grapevines planted over 160 years ago. Here at the lodge we accommodate up to 200 guests for weddings, private events, and corporate events. Expanding into a restaurant we are open Monday thru Friday from 4:30pm to 11pm and closed on the weekends for events.
The shareable small plates menu is based on seasonal ingredients accompanied by Craft beers on tap and wine by the glass. Currently offering indoor seating, the restaurant will expand to offer outside seating as well. Mark West Lodge will start by offering dinner.
Dinner is served from 4:30PM — 9PM, bar is open until 11PM.
History
Established in 1846.
Currently known as The Mark West Lodge Event Center, in the past it has serviced as a cultivated French restaurant, a spa resort, and a roadhouse. Built in the 1840s, the lodge became an attraction when the location was transformed into a hot spring. In 1979 the location was destroyed by a fire when it was run as a restaurant. It was, however re-built in 1981 by the same owner who re-opened the restaurant. The business eventually closed and went through a string of owners for the next few years. Purchased in 2002, the location was improved into an event center. Now a few years down the road the lodge is under new ownership and management– undergoing renovations to re-introduce the location as a historically beautiful venue to host events in the green hillsides of Sonoma County.
As the location has been through a succession of owners, the grapevines which have been featured in Ripley’s Believe It or Not have weathered the storms. The grapevines are over 160 years old and accounted.
