McLea’s Tire & Automotive Service

The staff was very professional and friendly. Also I’m a huge fan of under promise, over deliver and was very happy that my tires were installed faster than I was quoted. The service here was far better than I’ve received at much larger chains like America’s Tire or Wheel Works. The prices are very competitive and I don’t think you could pay lower somewhere else. Usually the saying goes «cheap, fast and good, pick two», but these guys nailed all three.

I took my truck to get an oil change and the service their is awesome! They were quick and accurate and have great costumer service! Thank you Dave and Darren, and Mike for great costumer service!

Last week I took my car into the dealer because I had dealer repairs that needed to be done. I told them I was having a vibration on the left side when I brake at high speeds on the freeway. I asked them to tell what was wrong and the cost. They told me I had 1% brakes front and back and all my rotors needed to be replaced, cost $ 1100.00. I told them I need to take it somewhere else I did not have that much money. They charged me $ 50.00 to diagnose the problem. I took it to MeLea’s. They did not charge me to diagnose the problem. I have 50% brakes on the front and 30% on the rears, one rotor with a hot spot. They told me nothing needed to be done at this time. These guys have me for Life. I hate Unilocal.Because customers LIE. And then there is the person who is so entitled that they complain about everything. So if I am writing this review it is because they deserve it.

My old tires were totally worn out, so I came here to McLea’s on Baker Ave. I got excellent quality tires at a good price. They were friendly, did a fine job, quickly, and now my car is cruising, smooth as can be.

I love the guys at the Baker Ave location. Everyone we’ve dealt with since they opened here & previously at the Piner location has been friendly, knowledgeable & thorough.
Over the years we’ve had oil changes, new tires & repairs. Spark plugs, lights & wipers replaced. Regular maintenance & a few major repairs. Every time they’ve taken the time to explain all procedures needed & done. They’ve been caring with my issues on the multiple cars I’ve owned over the years. I trust them to not suggest unnecessary repairs. I love how they work with you as far as payment options.
I have taken cars there prior to purchase to have the car inspected & totally trust their judgement as far as the cars condition and if that car will be reliable or just a waste of our money. The other that super impressed me about the company’s integrity, last year on my VW Passat wagon; it needed a MAJOR engine overhaul which they estimated to be around 2K, they told me that I could spend that but there was no guarantee that the cost wouldn’t end up being complete waste of money.
I really trust them, will continue to come to them & have and will continue to recommend all of their locations.

We were headed out of town for our Anniversary weekend on the Memorial Day Long weekend. It was a Saturday afternoon. And our truck started making a horrible clanking noise. We didn’t know the area, so we just pulled over to a nearby auto place we saw from the 101hwy.
They check it out and turned out the transfer case just came apart. Yeah us. Our weekend and trip are now ruined.
But even though we were from out of town, and have never been here before — the staff made sure to really go above and beyond for us. They could tell how upset we were from having an important weekend ruined and that we were now stuck with no transportation away from home. They set us up with a loaner vehicle so we could get home.
We were quoted one price when we were there at the shop, but when the parts came in (after the holiday weekend), the bill was actually considerably SMALLER than the quote. How often does THAT happen?
They fixed the truck in a reasonable amount of time.
When we went to pick it up, they made sure even beyond the quote that we were satisfied with the quality of the repair. Their technician pointed out future issues that I should be aware of and made sure that I was shown all the replaced items and comfortable with how the truck worked. During this process from the day we limped into the shop to the day we picked it up… EACH of the several staff members and technicians we dealt with were extremely kind, respectful, helpful, and of good humor. They were a pleasure to deal with considering we were sort of extremely depressed by the who thing.
Even if I have to travel the hour to get there, they have earned our future business.
* Also, I would like to note, this might be a girlie thing… but, most automotive type establishments are very … «eh» to look at or be around. But I appreciated that this place was very well put together inside. It was DESIGNED with an aesthetic in mind. Nicely decorated, yet in complete theme of the whole masculine automotive vibe.
And (ahem, Ladies)… The bathroom is the NICEST bathroom I have seen in such an establishment. Seriously. It was just missing the full size soaking tub.
They also had a nice flat screen tv on the wall in the waiting area, with a great selection of man and women friendly magazines, and a snack machine, refreshments, etc.
They really go out of their way to make the experience as pleasant as can be considering you may be there when you sort of REALLY do NOT want to be there, know what I mean?

I came in for new tires and got beyond what I expected in customer service. Ozzy (sorry if I spelled it wrong) helped me so much and went over in detail and actually showed me everything that was wrong with my tires. I even paid less for them WITH installations and alignment than I have at the different shop that I’ve always gone to. Also. it turns out I’m overdue for a 60k tune up and when I came to pick up my car he went over samples that he took from my cars fluids and showed me what they are supposed to look like. I will definitely be back for all my cars needs because of the honest and great work that I received by Mclea’s customer service and their mechanics. I’m happy I found myself a new auto shop that I trust!

These guys (and gals) are the best around! Shops get a reputation and reviews are important. so. here’s mine. McLea’s never lets us down! Me and my lady bring all our vehicles to them now, because we know exactly what to expect! They’re honest, they’re a pleasure to work with and they know their stuff! They take care of their customers and treat people the way they need to be treated. like people.
SO far over the past 10 years they’ve serviced my 2003 Yukon, 2003 VW Jetta TDI, 2008 Denali and now my 2011 Chevy Tahoe 4×4. They’ve completed work from basic flat repairs and oil changes, to full 60k mile service jobs, engine issues and full tire sets. They identify any issues, only recommend what needs to be done and knock it out at our convenience. They keep pricing where it needs to be, competitive, and we as customers appreciate that. big time!
John and Ozz are the best! Big time shout out to these guys… they’re a HUGE reason why their shop has our business for life! They answer any and all questions we have, address any concerns, and go above and beyond every time we see them! Thanks for the hard work, great crew and for taking care of your peeps!

Exceptional; And I really am the customer from h**l. I’m glad I found this place. I try to approach most everything these days from a moral perspective and consequently I’m very careful in observing how employers treat their employees. The owner must be the kind of guy the world needs more of, a genuinely nice person whose values amount to more than ‘the bottom line’. Customer satisfaction was THE priority and the staff knew it and believed in it. I’ll go back.

I just spent an hour there to get my tires checked. Due to poor communication and lack of consideration I’m not going back. It should have been a quick in and out but instead I was there over an hour and would have been there longer if I didn’t check in with them.

Super nice and friendly staff today! John and Jason were awesome. Thanks for fixing my tire light sensor issue! I would recommended this place to everyone.

I have to thank the team at McLea’s Tire for their professionalism and courtesy. As a new resident of Santa Rosa we needed to find an automotive shop that we can trust; our family has used the same mechanic for over 10 years, and needless to say, our expectations were very high. We have used the Baker and Piner locations, with excellent service at both. Each time we needed service, McLeas’s was able to accommodate our schedules and have the repairs competed on time and at a fair price. The shop is clean, organized, inviting and the people are great. I recently needed 4 new tires for my Subaru Outback. I went to Costco and was quoted a price, but they were out of stock. I impulsively stopped by McLea’s and they offered to match Costco’s price. I was surprised, but made an appointment for the next day. I then went home and googled McLea’s and read some very alarming reviews. I got a little nervous, but decided to go ahead with my tire purchase. They were fabulous. No hidden costs, no scary surprises. When I asked the mechanic if he had remembered to put on all the lug nuts (half jokingly) he jokingly replied, «Yep. I left them all equally loose so all the tires will fall off at the same time. It’s safer that way.» I was then informed that they hand torque each one. They even completed my tire rebate with Michelin online for me instead of just giving me the form to do it myself. Though I live in San Francisco I will return to McLea’s for future service needs.

I was leaking oil. and I needed new rear tires. So I began asking around. Father Said
Go to… Mcleas and … So I started in S. R and Ended in Windsor with 4 Estimates.
Then I looked at Unilocal reviews. IMPRESSED the owner takes them on the chin. So I like the integrity this shows. As I drove home that next day headed by the Baker Ave I remembered dads words. And Unilocal words and the Owners words. So I quickly turned in Lot. Headed to counter and that is where all my many SURPRISE’S began.
They price matched my lowest estimate. SURPRISE.
I am not made of money even with 2 part time Jobs.
They Do a check guarantee thing you write checks and they hold on then deposit 30
then 30 more day so i could pay for the work in pieces. SURPRISE
MY work was done time. SURPRISE
They even told me that I feel like family. Nice SURPRISE.
I was so happy with my experience, I went for a test drive and brought them all
Round Table Pizza (my other Job) So that I could SURPRISE THEM.

My wife needed a last minute oil change before we went out of town. So I called Ozzie at the Cotati store to get me in. He normally can work me in but this time I waited too long. But he suggested that my wife could go to the new Baker store. I was hesitant because I really like the Cotati store. They always take really good care of my wife. Who used to be really nervous with auto repair places. When my wife got to the baker store Mike Jacobs greeted her. Ozzie had set the bar pretty high but Mike did a great job in his stead. Mike noticed that I needed a factory 60k service and set for next service

My GLK 350 was due for Service B (40k), I had very bad experiences at MB Santa Rosa and I did not want to take my car to them, and I did not want to drive to Marin County either. So I called Les McLea and his team.
Les McLea immediately set up an appointment for my vehicle to be serviced at the Baker Ave Store, Mike Jacobs who is the store manager and his team of experts were so willing to create a relationship of trust and service. I was treated with the utmost respect and courtesy.
My Mercedes Benz was serviced better than the way it is serviced at the dealer. They used all original parts; I also bought new tires (ContiPro 4×4) for a great price. They also signed and stamped my Service Book and updated the MB system since my car is under warranty.

Fantastic! What outstanding customer service I received last Friday. My vehicle broke down on highway 101 at Baker Ave, I could see the McLea’s sign accross the highway and wolked there and asked for help. They were more than helpful. I knew they main belt had snapped and would have to be replaced. I told them I would call AAA and have it towed in. Did I mention I was working on a deadline and needed the vehicle back ASAP? They ordered the part right away while I waited for the tow truck. Once it arrived McLea’s checked it out quickly and determind two pulleys were damaged (the cause of the belt snapping) and ordered those parts immediatley. The repairs were completed quickly and in the most professional manner. McLea’s did a great job on my truck and a valuable service for me. The Staff at McLea’s, Darren at the front desk and Dave the service tech, (I didn’t get the name of the service manager but he obviously runs a great shop), are Professional, Friendly and now, my/​my vehicle’s new best friends — I’ll be bringing both of my vehicles to them for service and tires in the future.
