I have been taking my 2005 XC90 to PJ’s since I moved up to Santa Rosa 3.5 years ago.
Their work is quality and prices are fair. Their customer service is above and beyond. They really go the extra mile and I will continue to take my car here for that reason. Hillary recently saved my butt one day when I was stranded in a Safeway parking lot with an infant and a car full of groceries. She was there in within 15 minutes with a loaner car and helped me transfer all my groceries and install 2 car seats! All the staff are really nice and helpful. Thank you!

It seems like everything is overpriced here. They quoted me $ 100 for an oil change and said it was because they like washed your windows and lubed various parts of your car and I wonder if I was only quoted that price because I’m a woman and look like I don’t know anything about cars.
I had to go here because my usual shop couldn’t read the codes off my warning lights because I have a 1997 Volvo and they don’t have the necessary tech for an old foreign car like mine. At PJ’s they charged me $ 94 just to read the codes.
They also told me that the amber color on my turn signal lights had worn off so I had them replace that and they didn’t charge me labor for that, which was nice of them, but they ended up damaging one of my brake lights in the process. I ended up taking my car to my normal shop for the oil change, which cost me $ 19, and they were happy to fix my brake light without even charging me.
I probably wouldn’t go here again even if I ran into another problem my go to shop can’t fix. I’ll find another foreign auto shop.

Couldn’t be happier. Getting 2^nd opinion from PJs saved me hundreds over trumped-​up «needed repairs» quoted by the local dealership. PJs customer for life.

Great service and I was in and out of there in a reasonable time. They know what they are doing I highly recommend this shop.

Had a good experience here but wasn’t quite what I was looking for, would like to give three and a half stars but that isn’t an option. Work was good as far as I can tell, nice people, shop wasn’t as clean as would be preferred but it was fine.

2013: Everything I said below still applies ~ they are the best ~ always there to fix me up. This morning the Volvo had a dead battery and after a jump, I was in and out of the shop in 20 minutes with a new battery. John, Bob, Nicole always as nice and helpful as ever.
2011: This is the best place to bring your car. I have been with them for more than 5 years and would not think of bringing my old gal (1990 Volvo in great shape!) to anyone but PJ’s. Not only do they do exemplary work for reasonable prices, but they also have great referrals if you need a smog check, or your seats re-​upholstered, or anything else! They are the nicest guys (and Nicole) and have the necessary sense of humor. Best of all they have never talked down to me because I am female and don’t know a whole lot about cars!

These people our outstanding! Very honest, skilled, reasonable, personable and did I say skilled? I’ve been bringing cars to them for nearly 10 years. They stand by their work and will work with you on issues.

I’ve been going there for years with my 1996 Subaru Impreza Outback. Service has always been friendly and helpful. My car is now at about 180K and going strong. Prices are above average, I’d say, but they stick by their work.

Thanks to John and the whole gang at PJs. My 2000 Subaru Outback developed the notorious head gasket leak at 210,000 miles. The car was due for a timing belt replacement anyway so we went ahead and had the top end reground since the heads needed to come out anyway to fix the leak. Now the car has more power, runs smoother, and just feels new again. It cost just a bit more than just fixing the leak to have the machining done. The labor for the timing belt was almost free since the leak needed to be fixed. John checked the compression and viewed the cylinders to ensure we didn’t need a ring job too. I am hoping to get another 200,000 out of this car now. Before picking up, I had the car detailed for the first time and now it looks new too. Anyone who really wants to protect their investment in their car should trust PJs to do it right. Rick is their new service manager and will make sure you get the best service.

PJ’s totally revived a 12 yr old Subaru with 185,000 miles after several other mechanics had failed to successfully repair the clutch or restore power. They have also kept my 17 yr oid Volvo with 120,000 miles in, seriously, like-​new condition. Worth every penny, and then some.

Honest, Fair, Great Workmanship. I take my Subaru to PJ’s rather than the dealership. I like that they are willing to SHOW you what repairs they are doing, offer to give you back the parts you have replaced. I have been to many dishonest mechanics and some honest mechanics who do inferior work. It is great to know that there are honest garages out there who do good work. (Volvo Subaru Only)

so helpful, not cheap but worth every penny!

Just picked up my 10 year old, 215K Subaru and it’s running just like it was a 10 day old again. This isn’t the first time I have brought my car into PJs. It was my last trip in that made me always want to bring it back though. After a repair from another shop only lasted a year and a half, I ran to PJs where they got me in and explained how they would be doing the job right. Their practical knowledge of Subarus is excellent and although they may charge a touch more than non-​specialized shops would it’s worth it for the piece of mind and the longevity of their work.
Me and my new clutch are ready to put another 100K on the car.

Great owner, great staff, very fair prices. I believe that they only work on Subaru’s and Volvo’s which is too bad for folks who own other brands because IMO these guys are the best shop in SlowNoMa County.
Attention to detail and great service so be nice to these guys – they work hard for the money.

I purchased my 1998 Volvo from PJ’s back in 2000. The service is exceptional and I do not like anyone servicing my car but the fellas there. Linda is great, John and Bob are awesome and eveyone there knows their stuff! I will continue to bring my car to PJ’s, they are the best!!!

) and a customer of mine had car trouble in Santa Rosa, I used Unilocal to locate a shop with good reviews, came across Pj’s. They arranged to have the car towed, looked at it in a timely manor, and charged a reasonable amount. Linda was wonderful to deal with and the whole transaction was simple, clean, and honest. Would definately refer my Santa Rosa folks to these guys. Thanks Linda!

These guys rock. Knowledgable, personable, reliable. That’s three cliches that seemingly every auto repair shop uses when describing themselves. In this case, PJ’s exceeds all three of those. If you have a Volvo, they’re the ones to see. They’ve kept my 240 DL running for over 300K miles and 21 years!

Paul has kept my 87 Volvo going for over 200,000 miles. He’s not cheap but he really knows Volvos. He won’t rip you off.

Great for Volvo owners. I trust these guys. They’re not hurting for business, so they’re not looking to add extra work that doesn’t need to be done. Loaner cars available. They even have two guys that work on the older cars (B18 engines).
