Marty came out to look at my AC that wasn’t working. He was very professional was able to come earlier than expected and fixed my AC for a reasonable price. Would definitely call him again if I have any issues.

If you want someone who is honest and levels with you about repairs verses replacement, call A&B (and Marty)! Our FAU/​heater began blowing cold, then hot, then cold. We had one of the large companies come out and were told it needed to be replaced along with other things (about $ 8000). A friend recommended I contact Marty at A&B for a second opinion. He answered all our concerns and questions and was very knowledgeable about the systems — he has many years of experience. Although our unit was 20 years old, there wasn’t any need to replace it for more energy efficiency units since they basically hadn’t changed the technology. He checked everything to ensure operational safely and explained the intermittent heat/​cold function was likely due to, yes, a computer control board that was starting to fail intermittently. His recommendation was to wait until it failed 100% to replace the unit. I truly appreciate his honesty and although I’ll need to replace it one day, at least I know it’s nothing serious for now and I can decide when to spend that junk of money. Thanks Marty!

The upstairs AC in my house went out during the previous heatwave and we were stuck using fans. It wasn’t easy but we endured while scouring Unilocal & Angie’s List for a decent HVAC repair company. We went with a fancy company (won’t say the name) with fancy uniforms, with fancy looking trucks and fancy, high customer ratings.
As a result, the repair wasn’t completed (after two consecutive visits from the technician), the AC failed again after two weeks of being «fixed» and I was out $ 300. Distraught and frustrated, we no longer wanted to work with this «fancy» company… even though the warranty for their work had not expired.
That ship has sailed and we went looking for another HVAC repair company.
My good friends/​relatives in El Cajon highly recommended Marty from A & B Air Conditioning & Heating. They urged us to give him a call.
Sure glad we did. For about ¹⁄₃ of what we spent with the other guys, A&B got our AC back up running to full strength. It only took about an hour to fix.
