Del Taco

I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid. My usual order is a green burrito and two regular tacos. This place was such a blessing during Beauty school when I literally was scrapping for change. You can get full off just a few dollars here. The staff is friendly and I’ve never really been disappointed with an order.

With some of their new menu items, when in a hrry this is a great place to go. Employees are attentive and strive to make this right. Quick easy, clean and easy to get in and out of.

Horrible customer service. It’s fast food but dang, have manners. Fast food is a dying industry but this would maybe help them out. Melissa’s drive thru skills suck. This was my first job, fast food, when I was 16 and I had better customer service skills. Awful…

The people leaving 1-​stars, shame on all of you –_​– unhappy, selfish, whiny kids lol. ‘omg like i came at 9pm and ordered a bean burrito but told them to grill it and they didnt, like omg’.
This Del Taco is one of the best around. They get the order right every time, and the staff is friendly, quick, and efficient. I come here at least once a week (they have a cool special deal on Tuesdays/​Thursdays for Taco and chicken taco’s), and will continue to do so despite the 1star fake reviews.

They closed their dining room about an hour before posted hours tonight. I hate that! I’ll go somewhere else…

Came in about 930pm store was dead. Went through the drive thru and ordered my usual bean an cheese burritos. My only request was to have them grilled so the tortilla is crunchy. I have ordered these before with no problem. The woman inside told me she had no way to grill the burritos. She was lying to me, and I don’t appreciate being lied too. I don’t understand why its so hard to grill a burrito. since I felt lied to I did not even buy any food. I simply left. I will take my money somewhere where I will not be lied to. This woman is the same woman on a different occasion who was talking to coworkers about using prescription drugs to get high while handing me my food. I will not be a returning customer here.

I ordered those potato popper things and they were still frozen in the middle and really gross. The cheese quesadilla was decent.

Love the steak and potato burrito! And the fries are the best! Love late night fry runs!!!

good chicken burrito, not impressed by the beef taco. overall a large selection. not the nicest facility but staff was friendly.

I went to Del Taco 10−1−12 around 9 pm at night. I order a Macho Chicken Burrito when i got home and started to eat it the beans where crunchy. I called in on the phone to see what i could do about getting replaced. Melissa picked up the phone. I told her what had happen she asked me to hold. I could then hear two people fighting over who was going to take my phone call. After a few min of waiting Melissa came on the phone and started to give me a hard time and told me WHAT EVER and hung up the phone on me. I then got in my car and when over there. There was 3 people working and no one would tell me who Melissa was. After a few min they offered to give me my money back.

One of my favorite american mexican fast food places to go. They are always nice and the food is always consistently good.

Quick and decent food

Awesome, but they need to take cards at the window. I guarantee they would make more $. Great food but that is what makes me go to the El Cajon location

OK, so whenever I grab a bag of food from a drive through I try to check my order to make sure I got everything I ordered. more often than not, I drive away missing one or two items.
This Del taco however, always gets the order right, and it always ends up in the bag! so props to that.
Food — eh, nothing special, think it’s Tues or wed — taco specials are great, lots of tacos for next to nothing. FYI — the hottest hot sauce they have just kinda makes your tongue numb.

Ok update. Never been through the drive thru til last night. Wow it was unusably long wait. Food was still fresh and hot.

Ok when I was a kid growing up in Santee (STOP LAUGHING!) Del Taco was it. There was no taco Bell until I was in HS.
Del Taco has the best chicken soft tacos and chicken quesadillas. And their Del Sorcho sauce will pull the paint off a car– it’s soo good and hot.
GO!

This is a rather short review. First of all, I don’t review local fast food chains on Unilocal UNLESS I have a less than average experience, OR a significantly better than average experience. Basically if it falls into a 2,3 or 4-​star category you won’t see it from me.
That being said, WHY doesn’t this Del Taco take credit/​debit cards? It should be chain-​wide. Last night I started into the drive thru when I saw a big sign that said «Cash Only in Drive-​Thru.» There was nobody behind me so I backed up, and parked. I went inside and saw a sign on the register that said «Cash Only.» I asked the employee «So you don’t take credit or debit cards period?» She said «no.» I asked «Then why does it say «Cash Only in Drive Thru?» She responded «We put the sign up so people with credit cards won’t go in the Drive-​Thru.» I said «Well, I guess I’m not eating here then» and I walked out.
The place has an ATM machine in it, but it’s one of those independent ATM’s that charge you $ 7 (j/​k) in transaction fees. Forget that! It’s also a dingy, worn-​out interior. The defnitely need a remodel. If they can’t take credit/​debit cards, they’ll never raise enough to pay for the remodel. I ended up driving to the Del Taco on Broadway in El Cajon (the old Krispy Kreme — how I miss that place).
Okay, so it wasn’t all that short a review!

I agree with Daniel! Best Del Taco out there! Friendly workers, fast service, cheap prices… duh…it is Del Taco ;-)…but anyways… can you beat 3 tacos for 1.09 on Tuesdays? I think not! Even if they are small, order like 9 of them and throw a bunch of Del Scorcho on them and it will suffice! They have excellent bean burritos too. I am partial to the green burrito. 99 cents is a hell of a deal!
