Howell’s Custom Upholstery

I don’t know if Sergio does great work as reported by others or not, but I can only report that I think he is very expensive. I brought a leather recliner to him because I had a rip in one of the arms. I wanted both arms re-​upholstered so they matched. He quoted me $ 500.00 to replace the leather on the arms only. I declined, and purchased a brand new leather recliner made in the USA from COSTCO for $ 499.00. Why would I spend $ 500. for a patch job when I could get a brand new better one for less money. Just my opinion.

Sergio has done a couple of jobs for me & his work is very high quality. He redid a sofa sleeper & it came out looking better than the original! He has very good customer service & goes out of his way to get the job done. He is very busy so make sure you don’t need a rush job because he takes great care & time with each project. He is very friendly & sweet.

I own an antique restoration shop and I’ve used Sergio for years. He is very good at what he does. Gives quick accurate estimates and will come to your house quickly. I trust him with my most precious and expensive antique furniture.

I have six dining room chairs from the late 1800’s and I was worried about having an unreviewed company reupholster them. But I took a shot and called them. Sergio came to my home with fabric books and was able to give me a quote that day. It was fairly expensive but I had a feeling it would be worth it. I told him I would call him back to have the work done. In the meantime he left a fabric book with me which was so invaluable as I changed my mind a couple of times. I had him come back a couple of weeks later and he picked the chairs up and I just had to pay a deposit to cover the cost of the fabric. This was around July 20^th and he said it would be done by the end of August at the latest. This was because they also needed wood work to be done — two chairs had broken/​loose arms and a few of the chairs were very wobbly. Around August 5^th Sergio had me come into the shop as he had a question. I came in and was worried the price would go up or something but it actually was a style question so I was very relieved and glad he asked to make a change. I got a call last week that they were done already and Sergio hand delivered them back to my home. They are gorgeous! Even better than I could have imagined and I know they will last for at least 20 years which is well worth the under 1,000 we had to pay. I will try to figure out how to post before and after pictures so you can see how amazing they are. Way to go Howell’s (Sergio)!!!
