Jerry’s Heating & Conditioning

I had an new furnace installed by Jerry’s then last year an AC unit addition. Then this year the AC stunk so bad it was unusable so I asked them to come out. First appointment I called in to ask the front office «no one verified my appointment and its now my appointment time, is anyone coming?» I was told unequivocally: «Yes» so I wait sitting in my house the full two hours and then call in after just to be told «oh he is stuck in traffic so he will not make it now». I sat here for 2+ hours just to be told «oh well next week». Next week rolls around and the guy tells me «one in a thousand of these units have a stink problem pay us $ 1000 more and we will add an air purifier to make it go away» so I call the office to say I can’t pay another $ 1000 for this unit I already paid a fortune for. The lady informs she will talk to the owner and get back to me. She didn’t and I had to call back. She tells me again «Sorry, the owner is now out of town on vacation Ill call you in a week when he returns». Do you think they called back??? Nope.
This bad review is not for a unit that is having issues. This BAD review is for lack of follow through, lack of care for my time, lack of care to get back with me and overall for making me feel like I do not matter as a customer at all. I do not give 1 star reviews lightly. Customer service is important and businesses should acknowledge that.

Alvin the service man was pleasant and the company did exactly as stated… checking out and fixing rather than trying to sell me a new unit which was 27 years old for furnace and 14 years old for air conditioning unit. He found and fixed a leak in the coils. Now air comes out at 49 degrees, was only 62 before his work.

They would have gotten 4 stars, because they were 15 minutes late on their 1:00 to 3:00 time frame, but everything after that was 5 star… or more! Of course I was thinking the worst, and thought they would say I need a new one. But I was more than pleasantly surprised when all I paid was $ 110 for all he did. I’m sorry I forget the workman’s name, but he was forthright, professional, and a really nice guy. Not to mention honest, because I had no clue whatsoever about furnaces, being an apartment/​condo dweller all my life. He did some work, got it going, and told me I need a new thermostat, and some screws around the pilot plate. And amazingly, he didn’t push selling and installing these items because I told him I could do those things myself.
When you find anyone from a mechanic, to furnace guys, to electricians, honesty is always the best policy. I could have easily spent more, but the honesty I got from Jerry’s HVAC means they have a customer for life.

I would definitely recommend Jerry’s Heating & Conditioning. The first time I used their service was about a year ago. The weather was hot and of course my air conditioner quit working. Money was tight at the time and I called 3 company’s to give me an estimate. All of them except Jerry’s wanted to replace the whole unit at a cost of thousands of dollars, which I didn’t have at the time.
Jerry’s guy told me he could repair it but it was an old unit and he wasn’t sure how much longer it would hold up. He did the repair for around $ 100 and I was just keeping my fingers crossed that it would get us through the summer. It has worked fine since but I always knew we would need a new unit and I was planing on having the whole unit moved out of my kitchen and installed on my roof. I called three places, one never returned my call, and one said they could not move it from its current location and they quoted me about $ 4000 more than Jerry’s.
Jerry’s guys just completed the work and it’s working great! I love having it out of my kitchen, it is so quiet now and I can’t say enough about the guys. They were so friendly, professional, curious and they kept everything neat and cleaned up. I can’t remember all of their names but Josh, Scott and David, thank you for a wonderful job and Jennifer in the office… You are great!

I was looking for an authorized Carrier dealer, so I sent two emails asking to set an appointment for central air and heat installation, but never heard from anyone. I am so glad that I went with Airmaxx because if I can’t get a response to an email then I’m sure I wouldn’t get a response to any issues.

I needed my AC looked at right away because my tenants have been complaining that the central air doesn’t work. I’ve had so many people come out to look at it, one person quoted me almost $ 3k! Another company busted some cap and Jerry’s technician took care of it. So far it’s working well, hopefully the problem is fixed for a while. Jennifer who works in the office is very pleasant and helpful, she was excellent.

I’ve used Jerry’s for periodic maintenance of my A/​C unit over the years and they’ve always been professional and fairly priced. Just this week, we had a problem requiring immediate attention. They were responsive, prompt, and the repairman actually added some parts and explained to me how I could fix the problem myself in the future. The only surprise I had was the bill was less than I expected, especially given the extra work and education from the repairman. Nice job.

I scheduled an appointment on a Monday morning with Jerry’s Heating & Air Conditioning and they no-​call, no-​showed, only to arrive much later in the day and never even acknowledged that they completely missed the three hour window they originally provided me. (Luckily for them I work from home and was available when they arrived.)
Once in my attic they found an issue with the ducting, but said it would take two weeks to fix the problem because they were booked for the rest of this week and the following week was a holiday.
If that wasn’t enough, when I called another company to get a second opinion they found more issues in the same amount of time than Jerry’s Heating & Air Conditioning did, and they were able to fix the issue on the same day at about the same price. Oh, and they were actually on-​time to their appointment too.
I recommend you get a second opinion if you have these guys come to your house. I’m sure glad I did!

This company is on top of things! Had my work done through the energy savings program with SDG&E so I wasn’t expecting that great of service. These guys definitely proved me wrong as they kept up with every step and provided excellent service. They were on time (even early for one visit) and worked hard and fast. Hopefully I will never have to see them again but if I do need someone, they definitely have my business.

The guys who came out were very nice and professional. They did a great job and even gave me some extra info about things they noticed in my attic. I would recommend them to my friends.
